He is really a top barber (and at my 77 years, I've seen more then a few) He is very kind, attentive, and shows great attention to detail. Told him the way I wear my hair, and I left with my haircut just the way I want it. Everything ended in "Sir" which shows a great respect he has not just for his older customers, but for people in general, and these days you don't find that much. I've been going to this barber shop for about five years, since before Rocio took it over from the previous owners. Went in today for a long overdue haircut and had the misfortune of getting Martin, who told me he didn't have enough time to cut my hair despite me scheduling a "regular hair cut." He wanted me to wait more than 50 minutes so he could start after his next appointment. He'd cut my hair a few times, but every time I saw him it was like meeting him for the first time. Interesting that the neg reviews from Porter Ranch are from women that I can't say make sense. I've gone to this location for YEARS and have never seen a woman there. It's a BARBER SHOP not a prissy women's hair salon. The barbers are friendly, kind, and very professional. The fact that some of the barbers aren't white makes me think this is just passive racism. I'm guessing that negative reviews are competitors from ridiculous hipster shops that charge 5x the amount. This place is consistent and a tremendous value in price. My go to barbershop in Burbank! Ive been coming here ever since I moved here and the service has always been good. Upon entering the store you'll see at least 2-3 barbers working at all times. All the barbers are very professional and they do a superb job in what they do. They are also very friendly and take good care of their customers. When it comes to price it is affordable and competitive to what you would get in the general area. Came in here and David crushes my haircut. My girlfriend loves it. He understood exactly what I was going for and executed on it. Not to mention he is from Burbank, so he knew a fair bit of historic knowledge that I didn't, having grown up in Florida. Will definitely be coming back here. Parking is super easy, it's on the west side of the building down a side street, so if you park in the main parking lot you have to go around front to the left. I recently moved into the area and was looking for a place to get my haircut. I found saw that this place had good reviews so I called and they were able to give me an appointment the same day. The place is clean and quiet and it was easy to find parking. Martin (pronounced Mar-Teen) was my barber. He was very attentive to what I wanted done and he did a really nice job and he was a very cool guy. One of the other barbers there is a woman (I didn't get her name) but her customer was raving about his haircut when she was if finished. I went in looking to get a Mohawk. The first guy, Arbi told me he wouldn't be comfortable doing it so he asked the other two in the shop. That's when Joji stepped up to the plate. How the mighty have fallen. Had been coming here for years and watched as it went from some of the best barbers in town to a room full of circus monkeys with nail clippers chasing a poodle around a big top ring. Went first thing in the morning and sat down for a number four on the sides and blended into scissors on top. The next thing I know it feels like I'm getting donkey punched in the back of my head as Joji rams the clippers at me like it's a punching glove. Three times I stopped and looked around and he'd just shrug, "Sorry." And then he'd just do it again. That was nuthin' compared to the tugging and yanking as he shredded the top of my hair with scissors. Next thing I knew he was ripping off the apron and sending me on my way SIX MINUTES LATER. Yup, that's right. SIX. MINUTES. I know because the clock on the wall was right in front of me. I gave him a twenty and got the hell out of there with a bleeding nick on my neck and a number two on the sides (Check out the photo). I didn't even wait for my change and ended up tipping him three bucks because I knew if I waited even thirty more seconds for him to make change I was going to take a swing at him. I have been going to Burbank Barber for the past 5 years and it at one time was an amazing place to get your haircut. The atmosphere was welcoming, the barbers acknowledged you when you walked in and the previous owner Jerry, was outstanding. Sadly, earlier this year, the business was taken over by new management. I'll start by saying, the atmosphere feels "cold" and almost "abrasive", like "that's right, we're the new owners". Almost like these new folks have something to prove to customers. Because of that attitude, it's make the environment very hostile. I've always been bummed to see a few of the barbers that I enjoyed getting my haircut by leave but to see folks like Jerry and Brandon no longer there, is tough. I've had my haircut by the new owners twice (giving them the benefit of the doubt as new owners it can't be easy taking over). Each time that I've asked for my haircut a certain way, on both occasions they've stared blankly at me like "really? That's how you want your hair?" Followed by "Okay - it's your hair..." and the result has been a second rate cut. Lastly, I've been so disappointed with my haircuts, that I've gone 2 months since my last cut desperately looking for a new place. Well, I found it... First time I come to this barber shop. I will not be coming back any time soon. The barber butchered my kids hair in the back and didn't even bother fixing it correctly. On top of that, he wanted to charge $22 for a kids haircut? Outrageous! And he did a terrible job. Apparently getting a zero fade is hard for them to do so they have to charge more. Isn't a zero fade something that every barber shop should know how to do easy? My boyfriend also got a haircut here. It's nothing special, a pretty basic haircut but they still wanted charged the same for him as a kid and they actually used an electric razor meant for facial hair (like beards) on the back of his head which burnt the back of his neck. Burbank Barber Shop is just one of those places you don't mind hanging out and talking it up. It's my personal favorite Barber Shop in the area and there are lots...I've been going here for about a year now. Brandon is my go-to barber. I mean we have the same name, common! Very down to earth guy and always cuts my hair on point. We always end up chatting it up about something or another. Other barbers include the owner Jerry, Joseph, Arbi, & Joji. I've gotten my hair done by almost all of them and have liked all of my cuts. It is cash only. $17 for a basic cut which is actually the best price around. Most cuts in the area range from $20 and up. Also there are no appointments, walk-ins only. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait if you are waiting for a specific barber and other people are too, but it doesn't happen too often. There is also plenty of parking in a parking lot adjacent to the store on Magnolia Blvd. And as always, make sure to tip well! read more

Then they got VERY heavy handed to try and get to do my hair cut. I bugged out and left then checked a reddit post from a bunch of other people also looking for Brandon. I was letting my hair grow for a few months and went in to get a gentlemen's cut with a hard part. Brandon and Paul have cut my hair and they've both done a great job. There use to be chill music on playing in the background, movies on the TV playing from Netflix that kept the customers entertained. For a few months this isn't the case. I've stopped in here a few times for a cut and have not been disappointed. All the barbers have been patient and knowledgeable, they really make sure you get what you want. Last week we brought in our almost 2 year old son for a haircut. It wasn't his first but he is still very skittish around the clippers and won't sit still. Patricia was amazing with him. I sat and held him facing me while she very patiently cut his hair. Ensuring each time she was going to do something to show it to him and make him comfortable and see it wouldn't hurt. She was so amazing with our son and made it a better experience than even the places that are specifically for kids ever has.
