We happened to be in the Hamilton area, which gave me the perfect excuse to try Flubs. It's been on my list of things to do ever since reading about it on yelp. When I first turned into the parking lot, imagine my dismay to see a building boarded up looking all condemned-ish. Nooooo! Oh, wait, snap...Apparently that's the old Flubs, right next door is another building housing the current Flubs. Disaster averted! We parked and sauntered over to the walk up window. The staff member was amazing. Patient, helpful. I ordered a cyclone and my son got a zebra with eyes. The ice cream was yummy and satisfying. No icky fakey aftertaste. We sat in the shade on some picnic benches set up in the parking lot. Not very pretty, but still, not complainging about a place to sit! Here's where it gets even better. My son is taking his sweet time and bam, loses his ice cream. Of course, being 3, he's a hott mess (yes, with two t's). I walk up to the window again, ready to pay for another cone, this time a "baby" (I love that they have "baby" and "kiddie" - two sizes of ice cream for the kiddos, because often a normal kid's cone is still too much for my little guy), just to let him finish his cone. The staff members were beyond sweet. Once they heard that he'd lost his cone, hence the reorder, they poured on the nice-ness. They could see my guy was upset. They ended up making it all better with a free baby cone with 4 eyes in a cup. My son finally calmed down, and I was grateful. Again, you cannot beat that level of customer service! read more

You can't go wrong if you stop at Flubs this is a great place and has been since I was a child. My only complaint? The line but, that line moves fast and you get some good treats at this long time place for gathering. I was concerned when they moved next door but this has made it even better. I have the thought that during the winter months they could focus on coffees. I would go through that drive-up window for a cappuccino or a good coffee. Oh well, we shall see. read more

Flub's has long been a staple of my family's ice cream needs. Having grown up not too far from Hamilton, my friends and I would often visit to enjoy some delicious ice cream! When I was little I would often annoy my mom by asking her on a daily basis "Is Flub's open yet for the summer?!?" It's that good. My favorite is always their soft serve. They have several flavors each day that are creative and delicious. If you can't decide which you'd like, they're happy to give you more than one flavor. I'll admit that the place doesn't look that great from the outside but that just adds to its charm in my opinion. This is definitely a place that you can't judge by its looks. It is very small and has a walk-up window where you place your order. Last time I visited there was not much seating available so you may have to get creative (and be slightly uncomfortable) if you want to enjoy your treat there, but believe me when I say that it's totally worth it. If you're in Hamilton, make sure to stop by Flub's. Heck, drive to Hamilton to get it!!! read more

Truly a Hamilton treasure! I visited Ohio a year ago, and even now, every time I crave soft-serve ice cream, I think of Flub's. I love how the workers are friendly, there are so many flavors and combos to chose from, and all of the customers are happy (well, of course they are, they're eating Flub's). I've had the #1 Flub's fudge ripple, #14 Jodie's chocolate banana, and a Float - Pineapple ice cream with Pepsi. Didn't think I would like pineapple ice cream, but it's pretty good! I have stopped in twice since they recently have reopened for the season. The first time I only ordered a medium vanilla cone with sprinkles. I asked if it could be put in a bowl so I didn't get it melting all over me or my car, the young girl said she would have to charge me extra for it. Well ok, being a small business owner I understand that things aren't free but I didn't expect to pay for the sundae price. Had I known that in the first place I could have ordered an actual sundae with 1 topping and pay for a cone on the side. Yes, it would have cost me a little more money but I wouldn't have felt cheated out of product/money. This weekend I stopped for a second time. I ordered a cookies and cream shake for my fiancé and a sundae with chocolate ice cream, strawberries and hot fudge. I was given the shake which I didn't think to check, put it in the cup holder. The girl went to hand me my sundae and I instantly saw that it was vanilla ice cream, I didn't take it from her and repeated that it was supposed to be chocolate ice cream. She quickly had it remade for me. I get home, hand my fiancé his shake, when he took a drink he asked why I ordered his Cookie and Cream shake with chocolate ice cream. I told him I did not, and then it hit me. They had mixed up the ice creams in my order, they gave me his vanilla and turned around and gave him my chocolate. My work orders from there about once a week, the ice cream isn't bad but the customer service is horrible! I paid my bill with exact change and the employee said that I didn't pay enough, she wouldn't even recount the money in her hand. I know for a fact that the money I handed her was correct but she and the manager both said that I was trying to underpay. I love this place. The best soft serve and combinations of ingredients to create new flavors i have experienced anywhere . I only gave 4 stars because of their policy on food allergies, and lack of friendliness we have encountered on a few occasions. I understand that this place has a disclaimer saying that if you have any type of allergy, you probably shouldn't eat there, but UDF will quickly rinse their blender, mixer, utensils between each order of ice cream... I don't see why it's such a hassle to do so here. I've ordered vanilla shakes here before, and had an allergic reaction to some peanut type residue that was leftover from not rinsing the machine beforehand. I was scowled at for politely asking that the mixing machine simply be rinsed before my shake was made. read more

A Hamilton staple indeed. This place has such good ice cream. The quality is very high, the portions are big, and the flavors unique. It's early September and I got the pumpkin flavor -- it seriously tastes like eating a slice of pumpkin pie. Delicious! We went to Flub's quite often; however, I won't go anymore. The last two times we went there the employee handled my money, turned right around and made my ice cream. Not only did she prepare it without washing her hands or with gloves, but she peeled and pulled out my banana with her bare hands - gross! This happened not once, but TWICE. I prefer to drive up to Orange Leaf now, where I can get the same ingredients with better flavors of ice cream and put my own fixin's in it without having someone spread their germs on my food. read more

Flub's has really good ice cream at a good price. Whether you want to go to the walk up window or the drive up you can't go wrong. Best soft serve sherbet you'll find! Lines can be VERY long a lot of the time. Which is the only downside. They don't seem to hustle any quicker to get to the end of the line and maybe this is because it's mostly young kids working but someone in charge needs to be telling them we are busy you need to pick up the pace. Often times I have passed on giving them my business and drive on by or step out of Line and go back to my car because of how slow they are! But every time I do have it the sherbet is to spec! Flub's this is nothing against your business, but after I was at the hospice for a week not as a house guest sorry a little side bar there I finally tried you out. After everyone said how great the ice cream was there I went for it. Once standing in line I looked at the menu, and what I seen was a little disappointing. Basic ice cream sandwiches (which none were available). Sundays, soft served, sherbet, and what I take is what you are famous for cyclones. I went with the rice crispy treat cyclone, and this is where I was disappointed. The large cyclone was 20oz of vanilla ice cream with a pinch of rice crispy cereal on top. In the description of the cyclone it said marshmallow would be included, could you tell me why not one marshmallow was included in my cyclone? Now what my opinion of of cyclone was like a real natural disaster with all types of s*%t mixed up in it. Rice crispy on top, no marshmallows, and no treat. Not the best ice cream in Ohio, but not the worst. If you are close by and can stand the wait go for it. read more

On a hot summer night, you will wait forever... but it is worth it. The soft serve is DELICIOUS. I always get the chocolate and vanilla swirled. The prices aren't too bad and the service is friendly. Nothing can satisfy my Flub's cravings. The (un)fortunate part about working there is that I like some strange combinations that are difficult to explain to the newer workers.
