Jessie has micro bladed my eyebrows for I think three times now and she does an amazing job every time! Jessie is talented and very knowledgeable so I definitely put my trust in her. I scheduled an appointment several months prior to coming in as Jessie's appointments book fast, so schedule now for a couple months later. I choose the combo (Microblading and shading) Jessie took the time to measure and show me the design of the brows before we started. This helps and puts you at ease while you are laying there for quite sometime while she perfects your brows on you. I'm not going to lie, the procedure is a little uncomfortable as she doesn't numb at first while she has to draw with the blade the shape. Using numbing cream, as explained, makes the skin tougher and bleeds the pigment. So expect about a minute and half in each brow for initial blading with no numbing. Then she applies pigment and you sit for about 10 minutes. Then she adds some solution to open wounds to sink in that numbs for the rest of the procedure, which was shading then more micro blade fill in at the end to even up. I explain all this as she is very nice, but somewhat quite and allows you to lay there relaxed as much as possible. I asked questions during the steps so I knew what she was doing. This calms me a bit as I was nervous going in. (I heard it was quite painful and I have seen some bad brow jobs out there). All in all I left very happy with the service and will go back to her for my touch ups. She took her time and did a great job. I left a picture of my brows right after I left the appointment. My intention in writing this review is to whole-heartedly discuss my personal experience here at "J Serra Cosmetics" beauty salon just a week ago (09/30/20). When I first approached the location I noticed the sophisticated and charming designs and structure of the salon itself externally from the outside. It gave me a warm home-like feeling, where it was intriguing and refreshing to the eyes and yet comfortable to my inner soul and spirit. Not to mention how there's plenty of parking available right beside the location towards the left side of the salon. Can you say "WINNING!" easy and accessible. What more can I ask for? I was greeted by a professional hair colorist by the name of Renee Shin. She was very welcoming, professional, enthusiastic, passionate and you can just tell she loves what she's doing and she's amazing at it effortlessly by nature. This energy is divine and I instantly felt an instant trusting bonding with this hair-colorist. The interior-decoration and ambiance inside of "J Serra Cosmetics" are divine and stunning. I'm all about "vibrations" and the vibration in this salon was phenomenal. It's harder to explain because you just got to be there to understand. The interior-decoration and vibe reminded me of "modern boho-chic." It was a very refreshing feeling. Renee warmly gave me a tour and seated me at my designated seat also known as her work station. She was very friendly and informative about consulting with me the strength of my hair, her suggestion, and the steps and process of my hair-coloring experience. I learned much new information that I would never have discovered before. It's nice to hear factual information and tips from an expert and professional in the hair industry who focuses on passing evidence-based practice facts to her client. I felt assured that she will do an amazing job and I genuinely trusted her instinctively by nature to go ham on my hair. (very rarely do I trust hair-colorist) Renee was very professional and explained the entire process thoroughly and strategically. For this reason, the result of my hair color was out of this world in a good way. The color turned out exactly like what I envisioned it to be "ash-brown." I was very shocked at her ability to remove the original "red-hair box dyed" and was quite impressed by how the color-correction turned out. I've had many bad experiences in the past where I was automatically declined and rejected from numerous hair-colorist, because of my red hair. Side Note: It's a popular belief that "red" is the most difficult color to remove but wow Renee made my bad experiences with originally having "red-hair" a hopeful and exciting experience! She was able to do the impossible and in evidently made me a very happy customer and for this reason, I am now a loyal client to "J Serra Cosmetics" and my go-to hair colorist for the rest of my entire life will be Renee Shin. This place is way over priced and full of rude staff. The only reason for the 2 stars is for Dez! The stylist we went to Renee she is rude and doesn't give you want you want. She only does one style of that gray/blonde look and if you want something different she gets an attitude. Yet still charged nearly $400! The owner Jessica I think that's her name, is rude and walks around with an attitude. Doesn't acknowledge or even greets you. Dez is so sweet but a little too over priced. $30 just for brows. I was very nervous to have microblading. I chose Dez as my provider. She was professional and explained everything she was doing as she went along. The aftercare was thoroughly explained with printed directions in case I forgot anything. I also was very thankful that I was given a sample of aftercare cream. INVEST IN YOUR BROWS!!!! I cannot stress enough how important it is to do your research into brow artists and be willing to make an investment into great quality work. This was my first time getting my eyebrows microbladed and I'm so happy I decided to go to Jessie. Jessie is super sweet, personable, and patient. She took her time drawing my brows to ensure they were perfectly symmetrical. She would have me lie down, sit back up, and look at my face from every angle to make sure they were perfect. It's this patience and attention to detail that really made me feel comfortable with her before she started tattooing. The best part is Jessie realized one of my eyebrows was slightly higher than the other. Listen, I've had my face for 27 years and I had no idea that I had asymmetrical brows. She fixed that too! During the process, Jessie made sure I was comfortable and kept the conversation going which was a nice distraction. Granted, microblading isn't painful, but it's not exactly a trip to the spa either. It was over before I knew it and she gave me a breakdown of aftercare instructions with some ointment as well.
