I wish I didn't have to give this rating because the set I got on 3/1/26 was objectively beautiful. But the medical consequence I went through after the lash service scarred me (metaphorically and literally). I got a chemical burn on my cornea because the fan was angled extremely close to my left eye, so the airflow pushed the glue molecules into my eyes. The only thing I could've done to stop it was to scrunch my eyes super tight, like what your eyes instinctively do when you're tryna avoid water getting in. I closed my eyes the best I could without my top lashes sticking to my bottom ones. I even asked to hold the fan myself so I could place it further away from my eyes. That same night, I felt an extreme uncomfortable burn. I put in some lubricating eyedrops so I can sleep. The next day, I woke up with severe irritation/inflammation and noticed a newly formed white spot on the outer edge of my iris. I went to urgent care on 3/2/26 to get it checked out, and the physician said it's "pink eye" and prescribed antibiotic drops. I followed the treatment plan, but the white spot didn't go away. On 4/14/26, I went to a follow-up appointment with an ophthalmologist. The correct diagnosis was that I got a corneal ulcer (not just pink eye), and now I have a 1-2mm scar. I had a great rapport with the owner who did my lash on the day of service, and the customer service rep refunded my service after being made aware of the issue. It's appreciated, but the refund doesn't undo the corneal scar I got or the time I lost from medical care visits. Thank god it's on the outer corner, so it's not affecting the central field of vision. I wished I could've been a regular client here, but whatever happened happened. I haven't gotten lash extensions done in half a decade, and once I decided to 'treat' myself, I got permanent damage to my cornea. Just my luck. If this medical event had not happened, the rating would've been a solid 4 stars. read more

This review is for Wendy! Wendy is Absolutely kind and will definitely deliver above and beyond. I got my lashes done by another lash technician at the Newport location. Unfortunately they were hard to brush and when I went for my refill, Wendy informed me that they had not really been done properly. She took a bit longer than needed for a fill as she fixed my lashes! Then at me next refill, she suggested giving me a fuller look as I was coming in a bit sooner since I didn't like how patchy they look. My lashes have never felt more elegant. I have had three trips so far to Elegant Lashes, and I have a feeling I'll be making more. Alice has helped me the last two times, and she is great! She is a master technician at the place, and I can see why. She told me on my first appointment with her that my eyes would complement a certain eyelash style. When she was done, I was in love with my lashes! Just made another appointment with her this week, and again, they look beautiful. Also, my visit was not that far from my previous appointment, and she charged me accordingly to how much my lashes needed the fill. I really appreciated that she did not up charge me (thank you!) Other than that, the place is nice and clean. Service is very simple- just book your appointment online and check in. The whole procedure takes about an hour. The service was great. The location was clean and I was in for my appointment as soon as I arrived. The lashes even came out beautifully! However... I did inform the technician that my lashes don't hold clusters (more than 1 lash) very well. I got the classic set. A week later, 90% of my lashes on my left side were off. About 30% on my right eye. It looks crazy lol. I've had lashes done for years so I'm not sure why these fell off so quickly. I want to say the amount of clusters she put but it could be the glue. Not sure. 3 stars because I did enjoy the experience and they looked beautiful for the almost week they were still full. read more

Emma did my mega lash fill this time! Elegant Lashes is very professional. The vibe is relaxation. Pamper yourself! I had better retention with Emma versus Alice. I'm not really sure why though? Maybe it's the difference in glue that they use? Both times I got mega lashes. I just felt the they were more mega like when Emma did them. I'll be going back to her. I think she did a better job getting the lashes to be fuller and more dramatic. I already have two more appointments scheduled and coming up. One this Thursday and then two weeks after that. I get to my appointment and it turns out that the person I requested was not in and I won't be seen until 7pm. I got seen at 7:10pm, 40 minutes later. Excuse they were calling me but I didn't answer and they didn't leave a voicemail or text me about the changes. No apologies or accommodations for it. I love this place! 1st time getting lashes done was a few months back and I love it! I've been to the Costa Mesa, Santa Ana and Tustin location and they are all peaceful & relaxing . I've gone with few other lash techs and they are all equally amazing, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be Tustin location with Austin! My 1st time getting lashes was done by him and he was fast and gentle. He payed attention to what I wanted and got it done! Honestly I'm kinda confused. I think my lashes look very nice. But is absolutely NOT what I asked for. My boyfriend brought me here for our anniversary and he chose Katie because she is the "Master technician", but she didn't know how to do the anime/Manga lashes I asked for. When I first went in she gave me a flyer telling me to get a natural set and I told her that's not what I asked for though, my appointment is for manga lashes. And she tried telling me that manga lashes required different lashes or something like that but she still accepted and asked me to show her a picture. I told her I saw it on your instagram. And I showed her that picture. I found it so weird that she didn't know what lashes I made my appointment for. She said okay to doing to doing the manga lashes and we began. Then she ended up doing the classic lashes anyway. Does anyone know who actually does the lashes on the Instagram or is this just a scam? I'm really upset. Leaving an honest review As I mean no harm to the artist, and I'm sure she's a great person. However, I don't feel Gabby is as experienced as some of the other artists. Gabby at this location was not the right fit for me. Overall, I would recommend visiting a different location. Elena at the Irvine location is excellent and truly pays attention to detail. I regret coming to the Tustin location. I had an appointment on 1/12 with Gabby. Before leaving, I pointed out that one eye was noticeably longer than the other. She insisted they were the same length and said there was nothing she could do. I was sent home with two eyes that clearly looked completely different in both length and style. When I tried calling the store to speak with someone, no one answered. I then texted the store and was told that I must have miscommunicated what I wanted--essentially turning the issue back on me. I don't think anyone would want two different styles and lengths on each eye. Thankfully, they have a 3-day satisfaction guarantee, so I returned on 1/13. They booked me for a 12:15 appointment, but I waited over 40 minutes in their very uncomfortable lobby before being seen by Gabby. When she finally came out, she didn't say anything--just gave an uncomfortable, unwelcoming stare. I politely asked her if she can make both sides even since the lengths and styles were still different. She then told me I should "ask for elegant wispy next time." For clarity: I did book elegant wispy, I said elegant wispy, and I showed photos of elegant wispy from their own Instagram. I get it mistakes happen and we all aren't perfect, but I just thought I'd leave a review :) read more

I requested the mega set lashes on March 8, 2024. Making an appointment was so easy and I went in and got them done same day. I paid $125 for it and it looks so nice and it's really comfortable! I showed a reference of what I wanted. (Spikey lashes. Then the tech suggested a cat with the longest length at 17. The was suggested to elongate my eyes and fit my lid space better. I went with the lash techs advice and love it. I got soo many compliments and since the lashes are curly, they don't hit my glasses and the make my eyes look awake! The only reason why I gave this 4/5 was because I wish was for more volume! It looks as though I received the elegant set instead of the mega set I will update everyone in a week or 2 to show you the lash retention. For further info I have dry skin/ lids and I rarely wear makeup. Update March 17,2024 It's been 9 days and the retention was not so great. I'd lose about 4-5 lashes daily. read more

** editing to respond to a message that was sent to me: while I appreciate the professionalism with which Stephanie M. replied to my review, she went so far as to say that they confirmed that my appointment was booked with Gabby and not Katie, suggesting that it was my fault for not booking with Katie. Stephanie, I'm not sure if you realize that a few confirmation emails are sent to me, which I still have. All FOUR confirmation emails say that I booked natural lashes with Katie (Master Technician), and I am including screenshots for proof (but only two screenshots, because the other emails were duplicates). Nowhere in any of my emails does it say the name Gabby. And because I was recommended by my cousin, and she specifically mentioned the name Katie, doesn't it make sense that she would be the name I chose? I didn't even know the technician's name was Gabby until you mentioned it in your message. I'm not worried about it though, but I definitely won't be back, and I would advise others to double triple check all details of your appointment if you decide to go here. This was my first time getting lash extensions and the experience was...meh. I came here based off of my cousin's recommendation. Her lashes look phenomenal and she told me she gets them done by Katie at elegant lashes by Katie. I thought about it for a while, and then just decided to finally go for it. I like that I was able to book my appointment late last night, and I still got a booking for today at 2 PM. I chose Katie as my technician. I came from 40 minutes away, and I had high hopes. Check-in was a breeze, they have an iPad that you sign in on. I signed in and was just about to sit down when I was called back by a technician, so the wait time was excellent because I didn't actually have to wait! I was led to a bed in the back, and as I walked over, I saw a few chairs with clients. I also saw a technician on her phone, and another technician on her phone, but it looked like she was practicing so maybe she was looking up videos, IDK. Again, this is my very first experience getting lashes, so I started to think maybe it was just like getting a ManiPedi. The nail tech told me to sit down, and she showed me a menu. I felt like she was in a rush, and I wanted her to take the time to explain to me, just like the website said they would. All she did was ask me what I want, so I told her this was my first time and I wanted my eyelashes to look natural, but I also wanted them to pop. I was confused because I filled out this information online and I thought she might have looked at it, but it doesn't seem like she had read any of that. I finally asked if she was Katie, and she stared at me for a second or two before saying "yeah...yeah..."... which led me to believe she is not in fact, Katie. But oh well, I went forward with the appointment. My lash tech was nice, but I could not get past the fact that her hands had an odor to them. I spent so much time trying to figure out what it was, but it was definitely either her lunch or stale coffee that I could smell the entire time. Her phone also kept buzzing while she was working on me, and I counted at least three times where she stopped working on me to answer her phone. Also, during my session, I heard one of the techs belch pretty loudly, and I heard everyone else trying not to laugh but they couldn't help themselves so they all started giggling. I was trying to relax, but I was just so caught off guard by everything I was hearing and smelling. Then, when she poked my right eye, all I heard her say was "oops" but she kept moving on, even though my eye was watering terribly. At that point, I just wanted it to be done already, and thankfully it was a few minutes later. Despite all of that, I think my lashes came out pretty great, but not the shape I wanted. Again, I wish she would have talked it through with me so I could have realized that the cat eye shape is what I wanted, but I was afraid it would make my eyes look smaller. Overall, I guess it was OK for my first experience. If I had a different experience, I wouldn't mind going 40 minutes out of my way to come back here. However, based on everything I said, and especially since I didn't get to actually work with Katie, I won't be back. OH!!! And when it was time to pay, she told me that the promotion was already over, so I owed $75 for my natural set. I said I brought cash because I know that's $10 off (as stated in my confirmation email) and she said it wasn't valid. So she either pocketed that extra $10 (even after I gave her a $20 tip!) or whoever sent the email out needs to change that part, because she didn't give me $10 off for bringing cash. I just wanted to get out of there though, so I paid it. Ugh... after remembering that part, I'm dropping this review down one more star read more
