I took the Fearless Falling class, held between 3:00 to 4:00 on Wednesdays and I learned so much. The senior lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays is only $4; you may choose to dine in or takeaway. Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.

I have to get my soda from a soda machine because the RPAC in the basement near the lockers only takes payments from students and facility who are members of the RPAC, but they have huge space for working out, taking fitness classes, and another pool that has 8 lanes (25 yards) that has a movable floor and waterslide area for families. I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

Plus, it was barely playground weather, but you take what you can get in November in Ohio. Baby K loved it: there are several slides, and some climbing areas, including a climbing wall. Off to the side there is a hockey-themed climbing area for bigger kids, and a workout area for adults with a grownup-style climbing wall. There's a shelter nearby, and benches, and the whole park is nicely laid out. We'll be back.

My sister and I took my niece and nephew to this aquatic center over the weekend and I was blown…read moreaway! We arrived early on a Saturday afternoon and found parking ride outside the center. We even scored a shaded spot, woohoo! The temps were mid 80's, so we were really happy to see plenty of shade so when we got back to the car, we wouldn't be scorched. After checking in (the sister has season passes, so it was really easy), we found three lawn chairs and settled into our space for the afternoon. Towels laid out, sunscreen applied, and we were ready to go. One of the first things I noticed was how clean the place was. There wasn't a single piece of trash in sight and the water was crystal clear. There is a lazy river, two giant slides, a lap pool, a kiddie area, and diving boards! Throughout the afternoon we explore each area but my favorite was definitely the lazy river and slides. There were plenty of life guards on hand and I loved how every hour they offered a 15 minute "adult swim." Over 18 only! However, adults with children under two were also allowed. I will definitely be back this summer with the family and I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you're looking to cool off.
