The finger print reading is time consuming to set up. But since it's an aluminum gate we were limited on options. That was my only regret.... Would have gone a different route with more options to lock the gate because that's the whole point !! No sense of having a nice gate if you can't lock it or manage it correctly from an app. All in all la fence made it happen & I'm glad I chose local business.

The issue in my case is installation and customer service. They broke one of my recently installed pavers (never told me). The metal portion of 1 of 3 gates had a lot of visible deep scratches, and they left an outlet box just dangling instead of properly installing it. I also noticed they didn't install stoppers behind each door. Didn't know I had to ask for that or that they didn't provide them. Imagine spending thousands on 3 beautiful doors just so when they open, they smack on stucco or walls? I made a deal with Mark (he comes out to give you an estimate) it cost me $100 to have my paver guy fix the damage. Add 3 stoppers to the gates and I'll call it even. He said ok. They came out and installed one. Mark has been bs'ing me for months and they haven't came out to add the remaining two. I've called the main office and no luck. I know if I would've waited on paying they would've been done a long time ago. And to be fair they did come out and covered up the deep scratches a bit. You can still see them but not as noticeable. The electric box was also installed properly. Make sure you look at your doors and gates closely before you pay because trying to get them to come out can be difficult and Mark might tell you it will be handled and never will. Their prices are fair and competitive but their installation and customer service could use some work and maybe other estimates on your behalf. See pictures. Oh and I sent them a lock to install prior to them coming out to install. I should've checked that too before they left. The electronic door lock doesn't work. I've tried taking it apart and figuring it out but does not work. My fault I guess for not checking.

We saw Shay and his team had proof of work. Shay took us to one of his other renovation projects and that house was beautiful. Even after the job is done, Shay does not ghost you. A few days later after building our fence we needed more slats to go into a metal gate we had custom built. Went back and they charged us 3 x times more for the slats that we had just bought??? We bought them because we wanted to have the exact same vinyl slats. I did feel they knew that and price gouged us. After we arrived home we found they gave us 4 of a different type of vinyl slats. ( similar in color to what we had previously bought except the TG was rounded) pics attached. We had paid more to get the same exact slats so we took them back to exchange. The guys that worked there would not exchange them they said they were exactly the same even though we showed them they were rounded while ours were square, so the different ones we a little off in color and the spaces between were larger because of the rounded edges ( we took a piece of the first slats we bought for comparison. We asked for a manager. Because they were all Armenian we did not understand what they were saying, but then 2 other guys came over and said they were exactly the same. What? How? you can clearly see they were not. They were similar but not the same. ( now it doesn't matter to me they were Armenian cause every race religion etc is great. I'm mixed myself. I only mentioned it because we couldn't understand what they were saying to each other before they came over to tell us they were the same. I feel he was telling them to say it was the same. But I digress I didn't understand what he really said.) We did not want to leave without the correct slats and kept telling them we paid more just to get the same slats we already bought from them. We were finally able to get the correct ones when we mentioned it was only 4 pcs. Hallelujah!! Thank you. Finally. I do worry for people that this may happen to if they give you more than a few wrong pcs so I am advising you check each one if ordering from this company. I also want to mention we had previously requested a quote from this company to install the gate But one day they gave us a quote and when we called back a week later to set up the install they quoted us $2000 MORE than the previous quote. The quote went from $5400 to ?7340. When asked why? their response was that's their price???? This was for just a 20 ft fence. Anywho, we're all free to have a company do work or not and we decided to go with another company. But thought this was also worth mentioning. I am writing this review to advise people who are looking into this company to do vinyl fencing, be careful and do your due diligence. Their sales practice is not on the up and up. I hope the owners of the company read this and fix things with their employees.

Again called them up and talked to GREG the rude guy and explained the extra problems we found and he Black mailed me to change my review or they will not come over and fix all problems the install team created, Total Pirates in the fence business, Who does that to customers? Zero customer service quality. Wiil have ALL COUNTIES FENCE fix all the problems and mistakes, they do a much better quality of Fence and Service. They are better priced also.

A few months ago I asked vanguard to fix my broken fence for my dogs and they repaired the fence back to its original shape. You wouldn't be able to tell anything ever happened. I was so impressed by their professionalism and clean work that I asked them to come back and put a new motorized gate for me. They worked with me to come up with an original design that would go well with my house. I recommend them for all your repair and original work. Art and nick are both knowledgeable and will not persuade/pressure you to get anything you don't really need/want. read more

JRC's Jesse promptly arrived, carefully measured the space, and took many notes on my design. JRC's final estimate was very detailed, and the cost was exactly what I had expected between the other estimates I'd received. I put down 50%, and Jesse said it should take 4-6 weeks. Everything was going well until I realized it was the beginning of June and I hadn't heard from Jesse in 8 weeks. After my calls went unreturned, I emailed JRC's Director of Operations, Stephanie, who replied, "Jesse said he and one of our welders are working on your order, and you can expect completion in about a week. By Monday, we should have a better scope of exact install dates." After still not hearing from Jesse by the end of June, I reached out to Stephanie again for an update, who reported, "Our welder said he expects himself to be done tomorrow. We will be sending it to be powder coated, which just takes a day or 2." Another 3 weeks later in mid-July, with no installation date scheduled, I got a last-minute call explaining that they just had a cancellation and that they could install it today if I was available. Arnie arrived within the spontaneously scheduled window and got right to work installing the gate and meticulously making sure it was exactly right. He even hauled away the heavy old gate, which was very much appreciated. In the end, I'm very happy with the final build and installation, but JRC's communication leaves much room for improvement. I'd reached out to Jesse on a few occasions, and it took weeks to get a single response. A simple message that things were moving slower than expected or that it was going to take 12 weeks instead of 4-6 would have gone a long way. Also, having an actual installation date versus a last-minute cancellation that I could fill for them would have improved the overall process. Thankfully, Arnie left a very strong and professional last impression, as did Stephanie for her prompt and repeated replies. I only wish I didn't have to manage the project after all the missed milestones and awkward radio silences.

There was no problems, no complaints, no broken promises, just fair work at a fair price between two mutual parties. I've worked with hundreds of contractors in my life from construction all the way to painting, and Modern Fencing is one of the BEST at what they do, and I mean that wholeheartedly. Ultimately, Modern Fencing finished the job with perfect scores, the fence looks amazing, the process was flawless, and Nick's empathy towards me and my family during this incredibly stressful process was so needed. I wanted metal side gates for both sides of my house. One is to replace the old and weathered wooden gate, and the other one is to add extra security to the side of my house where the bedroom windows are located. I showed Andres the design I wanted, and he was able to transform my vision into reality. The turnaround time was only two weeks. Today, more than four years after Andres' team had completed the work, the side gates are still looking fantastic!! We did black powder coating on all 3 projects. This process truly helps the gates to look as good as new for many years to come. I am extremely pleased with what Andres and his team have delivered. Andres' son came to my house to do the welding and installations. He's a true professional. He was able to complete the projects in a timely manner. The third project was a custom design security door for the back of my house. I sent Andres the photo of what I wanted, and again his team was able to create what I asked for. I absolutely love love love this door. Even after 4 years, it's still looking perfect!! This project took a lot longer, over 2.5 months to complete. Keep in mind that this was during the pandemic in January 2022. In the end, I was truly satisfied with the results, so it was definitely worth all the wait.
