I received subpar treatment from Dr. Timothy Williamson as an adult patient. I was in the midst of…read moretreatment with Dr. Williamson and he canceled his appointment with me 40 minutes beforehand because he was apparently figuring out his schedule. It was incredibly odd. The receptionist also did not even apologize and was incredibly rude. When I asked when the appointment could be rescheduled for, his office staff told me they'd call me and hung up. I waited for a call back and didn't receive one. So I tried calling the office several times over the next two weeks to reschedule the appointment with no luck. At the time of this cancellation incident, I was being treated by Dr. Williamson for follow-up for blood test results that I was told would need to be reviewed in person (to this day, these have never been reviewed with him) and a skin condition on my thumb that had not resolved despite three prior appointments I had had with him. It turns out Dr. Williamson misdiagnosed my skin condition, which I only found out after going to a dermatologist that I had to be very persistent in asking for a referral to from him. Additionally, I had an inflamed cyst at time of the appointment that was canceled, which I notified Williamson's office staff of. The abrupt cancelation ended up being quite an issue because I had been prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream for the skin condition by the dermatologist. As my skin was raw and bleeding, I wanted to check with Dr. Williamson that I should proceed with using the Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream as it is only for topical use and is contraindicated for treatment on open sores. So I communicated with Williamson's office staff that I had hesitancy about proceeding with this treatment- it seems this question was never relayed to Dr. Williamson by the office staff because I never heard back and I was left in the dark trying to navigate my own health issues. About a week after my initial appointment had been canceled, Dr. Williamson's receptionist called me on a Friday after the office was already closed and told me to call on Monday to reschedule my appointment. I called her back on that Monday and left a voice message around noon. I called the office back at 4 pm and the receptionist picked up. I told her I needed to reschedule the appointment. She told me, "We'll call you back" and abruptly hung up. I didn't hear back from the office for over a week. In the meantime, I realized I needed to get my blood test results. So I logged into Quest (who performed the blood test) and requested my results. Some parts of the blood test results were concerning to me and I was shocked that Dr. Williamson had not reviewed these test results with me (even over the phone) and had actually cancelled the appointment 40 minutes beforehand. Given the blood test results, I am not sure if I will require further testing and was given no treatment instructions by my former primary care provider Dr. Williamson. I have since decided to sever my treatment relationship with Dr. Williamson due to the treatment being was I believe to be far below the standard of care for the field.

Alexis Murray is the BEST. She is very attentive, lets you fully explain yourself & your concerns, speaks to you so respectfully, doesn't gaslight you & tries to see things your way so that she can better understand you, & she respects your personal beliefs, & does not come off judgmental nor does she make you feel stupid. Lately we have been going to see Alexis Murray for my son almost once monthly. She is always so patient and detailed with us. She explains herself very well & lets us as parents feel safe enough to ask her many questions & figure out how to go about things in regard to my son's health. She also is so reassuring and makes us feel safe!!! She is a gem there. Astrid is a medical assistant there at Primary Medical and she was also very attentive with son. She made him feel very comfortable and made him laugh. When you have little kids all the little things matter & when they take the extra steps to make sure your child is comfortable it puts us as parents at ease. I, myself have also been seen by Alexis Murray & can attest to a great bedside manner. All in all, I am super happy that my whole family goes to Primary Medical in Oxnard. Billing dept mgr and scribe says my spouse has low back pain. He takes an occasional Advil after riding over 40 miles on his bicycle and up in the mountains at 76 yr old. Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!
