Unorganized and unprofessional. They double booked my appointment time so asked me to come in one hour earlier. When I got there, the other person who was double booked was also there, because they also asked them to change their time to one hour earlier. They are considered in-network for me but then did not accept my insurance for contact lens exams... I ended up having to pay the private price. I thought this was BS and should have been disclosed when I made the appointment. The lady in the front also doesn't know what she's talking about and had to call someone else for help. Also when I called to make an appointment, they said they'll call me back and took down my number. They never called me back. The doctor herself is good and kind (forgot her name but she only started in Dec 2023). But the front end is unprofessional and borderline dishonest. I won't be coming back here read more

Would've given this place a 5-star rating before, but it has now been taken over by Zoom Optometrics... Take note that if you scroll through the Yelp reviews on this page, generally positive ones are pre-Zoom and negative ones are more recent. The good about this place: Dr. Lily is amazing--incredibly kind, answers all questions patiently, and very thorough with her work. Dr. Diana (from Zoom) is great too, funny and gives insightful advice on eye health. I only saw her once (the last time I went) but thought she was awesome. The bad: A bit more detail on my experience with Focus post-Zoom takeover... While the optometrists themselves are great, I think the service is now abrasive and borderline dishonest. In the past, I'd always heard about prices (i.e. what we would have to pay out of pocket) upfront before going into any exam. This time I walked in, was asked what exams I'd like to do without any mention of price, and was only told after the exams that prices had actually risen this year. Seemed a bit slimy--should have informed the customer beforehand. Also, make sure you check what you're being charged: originally the guy explaining my insurance coverage told me I'd have to be charged a certain fee that only applies to people who are over 26 years old, which I am not. Further, the shop no longer automatically gives you a copy of your prescription after your exam (they're legally obliged to do this, search up the Eyeglass Rule). Instead, you have to request it from them--and I think this is another seemingly slimy move; it's manipulative since it silently pushes customers toward buying their glasses/contacts at this shop instead of comparison shopping. My family is so sad that we'll have to look for a new optometrist again! We'd been with Dr. Lily for a while, but Focus' service is just no longer the same now that Zoom has taken over. read more

This is the worst worst optometric place I have ever been to in my life. The front desk Lady, a Chinese woman constantly talking on the phone for a long time. Then she checked my insurance card and said : your insurance is INACTIVE!!! I was 100% sure that mine is active. Called Anthem to double check. They said it is active. Never experienced such unprofessional group. Doctor is nice but Wendy and the manger there has no idea how to talk to people. They charged me for glasses and tint , kept my glasses for over a month and when I went to pick up it was dirty and still had price written with pen on lenses. Why would they say that it needs to be send to lab for the VSP to pay. When I asked Wendy she jumped on me said you have too many questions. Seriously!!!! Lily is absolutely my favorite optometrist, and to think I only met her a month ago!! She's thorough in her exams, and patient while explaining what she is doing. I also got two pairs of glasses with some style advice from her receptionists (TY ya'll) and had no problems going back in to get the glasses adjusted. I have been coming to this shop to get glasses for over 10 years, but not anymore. The receptionists were always nice, but not the current one. She is rude, bossy and talks too much. I only want to get my glasses in a place I feel familiar, but she kept gossiping about who is the owner, what happened to the shop. I have an appoiment today at 2:30pm, the lady keep try to ignore me even I did let her know I have appoiment. I be here at 2:20pm, I am still waiting in now (3:10pm). Then why they require for appoiment if they not follow it. I don't know how long still need to wait. this review is long overdue. The previous eye doctor- Dr. May - took really good care of me and my kids when she was still in office, so we were a bit saddened when we found out that she left. BUT...I was very very happy to know that Focus Optometric is now being managed by a highly professional optometrist - Dr. Huynh and a highly knowledgable/courteous receptionist - Charlie. And I am not aware of another person working in the clinic - so this post goes out to the dynamic duo of Dr. May and Charlie. I work as a nurse and i can be a little picky when it comes to "service" but this place deserves a good review. i have been to other eye clinics in the past, FO may not be as big and fancy, but i will definitely stick to this place. The doctor took great care in making sure that my prescription was correct, and was also very knowledgeable in all the different brands of contacts. I recently broke my glasses and needed them replaced ASAP. Turns out my prescription had expired and needed an update. Fortunately they take my insurance and I was able to get an appointment on the same day. I saw Dr. Huynh for the exam and she was efficient and professional. She even went above and beyond to give me a sample contact lens to drive home safely. Upon selecting the glasses, the staff took her time in helping me select the prefect pair of specs. She was knowledgeable and took her time to go over the glasses options with me. I will definitely be coming back to this office for my next exam as the staff and doctor were so patient and friendly. I have been coming back to this place even though I have many other in-network choices because both Dr. Kiang and Dr. Wong have been taking care of me as a real customer and always made the best professional recommendations based on my personal need, rather than higher-priced options. I just got my 2nd pair of glass from Focus Optometric Group. The service provided in this place is excellent. Dr. Lily Huynh and Sandra have provided me great service. I have been using another place for over 10+ years and I visited this place after haircut in a store next door, the next thing I know was a cancelled appointment that I could worked with Sandra and Lily to order 2 pair of beautiful glasses. The exam is thorough and not rushed and Lily and Sandra are efficient and accurate people who are friendly, courteous and follow up diligently from start to finish. I brought my family here for our eye exams and we were all seen by Dr. Huynh. She's very thorough and our exams didn't feel rushed like other places we've been to. I was concerned about my son's vision as his vision has gotten worse year after year. Dr. Huynh suggested several alternatives to us including ortho-k which are night time contact lenses that he sleeps in to slow down his progression. At first, my wife and I were a little hesitant with the idea but we were determined to try anything. After the initial training session and a few visits later, he can now see without any daytime contact lens or glasses. We're super pleased with his results! Thank you Dr. Huynh! read more

I like that she listened to what I was experiencing and provided different options.They are attentive to patient needs. I had a great experience here. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. I can in for my annual check up and was provided excellent care by the doctor. Not only did she check on my eyes and find the correct prescription for my eyes, she made the entire encounter very personable and genuine, unlike the appointments I've had at larger clinics that seem more interested in moving as many people in a day as possible. The optician, Charley, was also extremely helpful by finding and picking the exact frames I wanted, and was very well versed and knowledgeable in her field.
