I've been coming here for years and have always loved the doctors--they've consistently provided excellent care. Unfortunately, the front desk experience has gotten much worse recently. I've experienced appointments being accidentally canceled, being placed on hold for 15+ minutes, dismissive attitudes, and staff giving inconsistent or inaccurate information. Most recently, I called to have a copy of my contact lens prescription emailed to me so I could purchase lenses while I was already at the store. I was told it would take 10-15 minutes, so I waited. After more than 20 minutes with no email, I called back. I was placed on hold again, and when someone finally answered, she asked for my date of birth. After I explained that I still hadn't received the email, she simply said they were busy and wouldn't be able to send it right away. I explained that I had already called earlier and was waiting at the store because I had been told it would only take 10-15 minutes. She then asked for my name, and after I gave it, she repeated my date of birth--but got the birth year wrong. It felt like she hadn't been listening and was just trying to dismiss my request. She eventually said she would send it "as soon as possible" because they were busy, but the rude attitude and lack of professionalism were disappointing. I understand that offices get busy, but clear communication, attention to detail, and respectful customer service should still be expected. I truly hope the front desk improves because the doctors are excellent, and it would be a shame for the overall patient experience to be affected by poor administrative service. read more

Unfortunately there's a young lady at the front desk that think she's the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and treats customers horribly. She's curt, pushy, rude, and unhelpful. She's the one that always answers the phone and sits on the right side of the desk when entering. I won't be coming back here. read more

It was my first time at Fremont Optometric Group and the process was so quick and easy! I booked an appointment the day before and showed up, was quickly checked in and did my initial exam with Marina. She was super sweet and Dr. Tracy Salgado eventually took over for my actual exam. She answered all the various questions I had and took her time to make sure we covered all the info that I came in for. The process was efficient, thorough and I wasn't pressured to purchase lenses like some of my previous experiences at different establishments. Overall, everyone I spoke to was super nice & down to earth so even though this is a bit of a drive for me, I'm definitely going to be returning for my yearly checkups and I highly recommend everyone to give this place a try! read more

Wow! Such an amazing first time experience at this office. Everyone is kind and helpful. I was checked in quickly by the front desk staff, waited for about 5 minutes before doing my initial exam with Marina. Marina took me to the back where we did initial checks. I even received a complimentary photo of my eyes since it was my first time visit. Dr. Jennifer Lee took over after and we did extensive testing and reviews which I greatly appreciated. My concerns of having fuzzy vision with eye strain was confirmed by the doctor and I was able to get my updated prescription. I browsed glasses after they told me what my insurance covered and for the first time ever, I felt 0 pressure from an optometrist office in purchasing lenses. I am impelled to come back when I decide to buy and will definitely be back next year. read more

we went to this place ordered my daughter's contact lens prescription, the doctor drops her prescription dramatically and she is sitting in the 4th rows in her class and she can barley see the board. We have bought 1 years supply for this place! She claims that her old prescription from different clinic is much clear. This is our first time using this clinic, normally doctor provides trial contact lenses just for safe checking in case the new prescription does work out. But we were not provided by this clinic. We came here for the doctor and doctor is amazing and they have good collections but the person at the front office can compensate for all good things. The person at the front desk feels she can yell at customers and treat them bad and hardly is polite. I wish she learns to treat customers. I think her name is Artika. They used to be good like 10 years ago, but all the good doctors left and the company started up charging, now it's cheaper to just go to Costco than go here and use my insurance. Also they didn't want to release my contact prescriptions to me to buy elsewhere, which legally they are required to. read more

This is such a long overdue review! I rely on sunglasses daily due to my light sensitivity. One day I was desperate because all my sunglasses were broken over the span of a few months due to my carelessness- one needed a new nose pad, one needed a new screw for the arm and another needed a quick repair I can't even remember. I called Fremont Optometric Group and Doris helped me right away. She fixed everything quickly and had me in and out in no time. My girls see Dr. Gin and Dr. Leong and they're wonderful as well. Dr. Leong had my daughter start on an eye drop that would help her astigmatism. If only I can get her to be consistent with her daily drops! read more

Heard about location through friend at work. Made appointment online and called to make sure they had everything. Was informed another appointment was already booked for time slot. Online appointment system in my opinion is not accurate and not up to date. Best is to call and make appointment. Provider I saw was nice, friendly and informative. Staff were nice and informative. Ordered one year supply of contacts and was informed staff from office would call to give instructions in couple days for rebate and didn't hear back, so called office after 2 weeks. My vision insurance benefits renewed with the new year so I came here to get an updated prescription and pair of sunglasses. Appointments are easy to make online. Parking is plentiful; they have a little parking structure right across the business center. This place is incredibly clean (they still enforce a mask policy and are constantly sanitizing surfaces), and the staff are quick & friendly! Doctor was knowledgable and so willing to answer my many many questions. I especially want to give a shoutout to Vikhal though who was helping me try on sunglasses. She's so nice, patient, and helpful! I'm prone to migraines so I always order lighter colored tints; she was understanding and resourceful showing me all the different options that they had. I had a wonderful time picking out glasses and lenses with her! Also, when the sunglasses I ordered arrived not looking as expected, she was quick to try to fix it and make sure it was exactly what I was looking for. This is my favorite optometric practice. Been to a lot in the area but this is probably the only one that keeps with the promised schedule and the customer service is awesome. My eye doctor sounds very knowledgeable and I actually feel like he cares about my vision. He even ordered a few extra tests for me to rule out some concerns I had even though he didn't see anything out of the norm - will be sticking to this practice hopefully forever read more

If I were to describe this office in 2 words it's -fast and efficient! This office is the best. Everything from scheduling the appointment, to checking in, to doing the routine eye test was a flawless experience! They just finished a huge remodel a few months ago and the flow of the office is great! Everything looks brand new. My parents are long-term customers that have been coming here since the 1990s when Dr. Gin's father used to work there. I really have no bad things to say!! Their equipment uses a lot of modern technology that I have not seen at other optometry offices in Fremont, and I appreciate this because it made my experience more comfortable! Honestly! (Just a little quick backstory that when I moved here a few years ago, I have tried 3 other optometrists and did not love them, for various reasons!) Fremont Optometric Group is my go-to for eye exams! I normally get a bit nervous when going in for medical appointments but the optometric tech, Marina, made me feel at ease. A lot of the machines here are new to me since I haven't had an eye exam for a few years. She explained the purpose of each machine and made sure I knew exactly what to expect. Let me start this off by saying that I am a 35 year old woman child when it comes to anything that has to do with my eyes. I was in a traumatic accident that resulted in severe injuries to the right side of my face. I have high anxiety around anything that results in close proximity to my eyes or face. Marina (I'm so sorry if I got your name wrong, it isn't listed anywhere on my paperwork! She had long blonde hair and tattoos), was VERY patient with me. I know that I can be a difficult patient and she handled the situation flawlessly, all while not making me feel bad or embarrassed about my stress around all the test they run at the start of the appointment. Doctor Salgado was down to earth, efficient and very helpful. The gentleman helping me with ordering my glasses was patient, well informed and efficient at his job as well. The only down side for me is that they don't accept Discover card which is my go to form of payment for larger purchase items and it takes 2-3 weeks to actually get my glasses. The gentleman helping me find my glasses did let me know that they can try to rush order but also gave me a general idea of what glasses I can find over the counter while I wait which was very helpful. This was my first time visiting Fremont Optometric Group. First impression when coming in is, parking is easy and the building is easy to find. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a friendly smile. It's very clean and organized inside. This was a routine exam/check up. I was called back by Marina who was super friendly and warm and welcoming. I like that they have up to date technology and I didn't have to get my eyes dilated because of the machines they have. I met with Dr. Gin who was extremely nice and answered all my questions. He was able to help set me up for success for my new job with a new prescription. Once I was done with the Dr. I was met with another girl who took me to go over my insurance and frames for my new glasses. They have a huge variety of brands and frames, it was nice to have so many options. She was super friendly as well and was very patient with my 50 try ons. I was a long-time patient of Dr. Victor Gin, then moved out of state a decade ago. I've never been able to find an optometrist able to fit gas permeable lens correctly in all these years. I've been relying on my cache of old lens each time I lost one and was down to my very last (very old) one. Dr. Sakihara really cares and spends time explaining her assessment and recommendations.
