My husband and I hired Janel to shoot photos after our wedding ceremony at the Fullerton courthouse. I was especially nervous for the shoot, but she did an amazing job of putting both my husband and I at ease. She was able to perfectly capture, not only our elation post ceremony, but also our personalities on film (like she'd known us for years). The pictures came out amazing; all our friends and family still comment on how incredibly beautiful, modern, artistic, and unique the pictures are. Focus Photography Inc. came highly recommended by our wedding planner, Holly Schoenke, so Ben and I knew we needed to check them out. I work at Getty Images where I'm exposed to a TON of award-winning photographers so I felt extremely picky especially when it came time to selecting our wedding photographer. I had a whole laundry list of things I wanted, but as soon as we Skyped with Janel I KNEW that our search was over... we had found the ONE! And yes, even through the wonderful world of video conference, we felt so comfortable with Janel that we hired her on the spot. This level of comfort was essential, but it was only after our recent NYC engagement shoot that I realized how important it was. Ben and I felt like that we had known Janel as a good friend for years! Where do I even begin?? Janel is absolutely amazing!! She is so awesome to work with and makes the entire process so much fun! She is so sweet and was so helpful with everything - which is so important on your wedding day! And the engagement photos were also a blast to take. If I could give six stars I would! Janel was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was actually my second time working with focus photography, I had family pictures taken for my in-laws about a year ago and they turned out amazing. But she really outdid herself this time when she did my boudoir session. I had a very tight turnaround for my anniversary that was coming up and I emailed her asking if she had any availability in the upcoming weeks to do a session. Coincidently she was going to be going on maternity leave at the end of the month and said she could maybe try and squeeze me in and put a rush on my project. She had me booked within a week of first reaching out and I had my pictures edited and the book 2 weeks later- all in all the quickest turnaround and had the book wrapped and ready the day of my anniversary to give to my husband. Granted, I know that it doesn't always work out with such a quick turnaround but she was so gracious and kept me posted the entire time and was an absolute delight to work with. During the actual shoot she made me feel so comfortable and knew how to position me to look my best. The pictures, the book, the layout, everything turned out so awesome! I got so many compliments from my girlfriends and my husband was head over heels in love with a gift. He still can't stop complimenting me on how much he loved it!
