I was invited to participate in a focus group. This was my first one. I wish I could tell everyone about my day at Focus PointGlobal but my group signed a contract so I can't review my personal experience. I can however state that the folks here are top notch and I actually enjoyed my day at 18 Tremont. My Focus group was pretty interesting and I believe an important one. Well without disclosing more about my specific group I will move on to a few things I can state to the public. The building is very well kept with a security guard checking everyone in. The hallways and public areas were clean and tidy. Our focus room was quite hot but the staff remedied that quick enough. Everyone I encountered here was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and really seemed to care about the subject matter and outcome of the days events. I have been to Focuspoint Global multiple times for studies and interviews. This is probably going to be my last time. I got here at 12:10pm for a 12:30pm study. Multiple participants were late yet they were pulled in for the study before me. I'm sitting here waiting patiently and i was just told it would be another 20 minutes with no explanation. Honestly, if i didn't work down the street from this location I would never come here. It's sloppy and disorganized. The pay outs are weak and just barely justify the process. I would never drive here and do a study even though they do pay for parking. My recommendation would be to seek out other survey and study websites before using this one unless you happen to be nearby in rhe city. read more

I signed up excited to get a survey done and do a focus group but no matter how many I fill out well over 50 now I never get past the survey portion i've even tried giving an alternative answer just to see what would happen and still I haven't been to one focus group or made it past the survey, So far it's a waste of time and very disappointing read more

I haven't done a group in a year or more, but I've been to Focus enough times to say it's worth the time if you get invited. The staff are always nice and helpful and I've been in to review varied topics as Travel Web sites, TV Shows (the ill-fated Cavemen - which I loved), Sausage, smart phones, political issues, you name it. Free parking at the Center Street Garage, just don't lose your ticket as you can't reenter the building after hours. The pay has ranged from $75 - 200 per issue, plus there's a chance to win a random drawing of $50.00 for showing up on time. A few things to know: you'll get the pre-screener via email, so fill that out and they may call you to review the same questions. Then you'll be asked the same questions in written form when you arrive, so the key thing is to remember what you said. You generally get sandwiches or pizza and coffee and soda. So yeah, a legit place to score some extra money with a nice group of people. If you like to shoot your opinions around a group, this is the way to go. read more

I wouldn't recommend Focus Pointe to anyone hoping to earn incentives for taking surveys online and/or going to one of their facilities for a paid market research study. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten halfway through one of their online surveys for points and been advised that my answers didn't qualify to proceed, even though I passed the initial screener. Most of these online surveys have taken more than 20 minutes to complete too, and no incentive is provided. Tonight I was supposed to participate in a research study in Boston and spent 2 hours in rush hour/holiday traffic. When I finally arrived with one minute to spare, I was advised that I was supposed to arrive 15 minutes early. I tried explaining that I had sat in traffic for 2 hours, but this explanation didn't help. Consequently, I was sent home and only provided with a parking validation for the nearby garage. The parking validation didn't work, however, when I tried exiting the garage and so one of the employees had to intervene. We'd never used this facility because we'd heard from others (2 of them are acquaintances of mine) who had used them that the staff were crappy and unprofessional. Recently, we were forced to do so, because the facility we normally use was booked, and we unexpectedly needed to do a project on very short notice. They DID: a. accommodate on us on very short notice. b. deliver everything they promised. Noone disputes either. The reviews I'd heard, though, both first- and second- hand, proved to be accurate. We didn't enjoy working with the staff, and they did not reflect well on us. Aside from being crappy and unprofessional, they just weren't nice people. They didn't even do a decent job faking it. All 3 of us felt that when we asked them for something, we were interrupting them. We will not use this place again. We want friendly people as partners, even more so when those people are representing us, even if only indirectly. Our reputation and our brand are too important and too valuable. They were MUCH cheaper than our usual facility, even on very short notice, and it's easy to see why. read more

They are STILL WASTING TIME! I wont deal with them for ages -then I see a FB post & think maybe they need people & maybe they've gotten enough complaints to start behaving professionally -WRONG! *Another long online questionnaire that apparently looked good, so I get a call and I immediately ask 'do you actually have space in this study' to which I am always lied to and told 'yes'... SO I GO THRU A LOOOOOOONG CALL GOING OVER SAME QUESTION AND MORE and today's representative who called me actually seemed genuine... fool me once : ( Then Im told 'you got it' which means more time giving contact info, going over where, when, what to bring..... all to be called back and told 'oops it was full'. BEST PART -If you cant answer when they call back with their bs, THEY HARASS YOU TO CALL THEM BACK SO THEY KNOW YOU GOT THE INFO THEY SCREWED UP AGAIN -SO THEY WONT LEAVE TOU ALONE TILL THEY'VE WASTED MORE OF YOUR TIME!?!?! *Mist focus groups are 8 people -why is it so difficult for them to see ITS FULL?!? Other people I know that have done them with other companies say this never happens! They ALWAYS BLAME THE CLIENT & thats more bs! Clients only change criteria or cancel very rarely. I and my husband have both done focus groups and found them to be very professional and well organized. The compensation is more than fair. Yes, the screening process can be long but the client doesn't want BS data. I would give 5 stars but I held back one because I have been called by a phone screener and given the exact same answers but was told I did not qualify. So my concern wth this place compared to other similar places is the laborious screening process. Ten minute on-line survey, 20-30min phone call, then 'sorry, you don't qualify'. Do not be fooled, they are basically getting data from you for free. Those surveys to 'see if you qualify' are basically ways of grabbing data all while wasting your time. Went in for a market research study/focus group about television. I filled out an email answering what shows I watched and how often. Then I got a phone call confirming my answers from the email. Then had to fill out paperwork when I went to the focus group about the shows I watch. Kind of redundant but worth the $100. We were reviewing a particular show. A comedy that I had never watched or heard of. We were given these dials that we held in our hands and turned them in different directions throughout watching the show. - -, -, neutral, +, and ++. You can probably guess how it works right? Well we sat there and watched 2 full episodes of this show and moved the dial back and forth depending on how we felt at any given time during. All of the data was being recorded through a computer. After the viewing about a third of us were called and told to wait in the lobby. About 10 minutes later we were told we could go home. WOOHOO! Guess they didn't like my answers huh? Ticket validated and $100 check for an hour of work instead of two? YEAH BUDDY! CONS- Couldn't bring in food, beverages or a cellphone that was turned on because of all of the electronic equipment. Long lines at the ladies room with a key required to open door. No one thought to tell them to go down a floor to the next one. But I grabbed a key and got a posse together. FOLLOW ME!!! read more

I've done several studies over the years here. The focus groups here seem to be bigger than the groups at other facilities but it is always well organized. Location is extremely convenient to several public transportation stops. They do focus groups on all kinds of issues and products. Pay is like another person said here: generally ranging from $75 - $175. Food - snacks or sandwiches - and refreshments are frequently provided. They reimburse for parking in a nearby garage. The one time they overbooked and did not need me they paid me a substantial amount just for the trouble of showing up. Good money for a small amount of your time. read more

Filled a survey for cell phones the second I got the email. Then got a call saying I was in, she told me all the info, what time to be there, where the building is. And that's that. Called a day later to say the same stuff again, double checking to see if I was still going to go. I said yes. Then got a call today saying that they are cancelling me because they're already full. Have taken many online surveys which are very time consuming for minuscule payouts and when I have asked to have debit card sent for survey's I took I get the run-around. Still haven't seen or heard anything after 2 weeks. This appears to be a scam. I would give Zero stars if I could. read more
