I have been a customer for about 3 years and I will not be returning. I find the eye doctors were kind and very professional but as far as , both 2nd st and Sundance location were not. They need re-evaluate their Customer service and current employees as they do a poor job at returning calls sending emails and taking proper message down. It took them 3 days to tell me they didn't have my contacts I needed in stock (trials) I called multiple times and waited for calls that never came. Mom of 3 and with the little time in between , this facility didn't provide any help and they could careless of one's situation. read more

I've been getting glasses from Focus Vision at Beaumont 2nd St for some years now and last year, when I went to get my eye exam, they told me to go see a specialist since there might be something with my eyes and only the Sundance have the service so they told me to go there last year and it seemed fine but early this year, when I had to go to my follow-up exam, I no longer trust Focus Vision especially the one at Sundance. Earlier this year, when I went to my follow-up exam on my eyes, they made me pay upfront before getting seen and told me I should get my results in about 2 weeks but about 2-3 months later, they still haven't told me until I decided to call about it again and then they finally told me but not saying anything about if there's something wrong or not since they wanted me to go in again because it's been too long, but I declined since they made me wait too long, yet didn't get a proper result. Not only that, during the few months, about basically 4 months now, after I found out they filed a claim to my insurance and my insurance paid them for the same service I paid for, the people at Focus Vision at Sundance have been making it hard on me to get my money back. They will always say that they need to talk to this person or that person and after many back and forths, they finally admitted to my insurance months later that they do owe me and that they put my money as credit on my account with them, which I'm guessing it's the patient chart they create for all patients, which they never told me before that they put it as credit until months later. When I found out about the credit, I asked if I can get my money back in cash instead of credit but for some reasons, it's so hard to get the answer from them too since recently, they seem to be avoiding me and the person that seemed to know will always be busy now or out of office. I've been too patient with them for this long because I was being considerate, but it's been over 3 months now, that's already more than enough time so I think now they know they owe me, they're trying to avoid me to try and get away with that. Focus Vision, especially the one at Sundance, have really bad service and I've learned my lesson to not go there again besides get my money back. To anyone who's considering going there for eye care, be warned. I really don't want to give a star at all but I have to. I guess the 2nd st one can have it. read more

I waited almost two hours without seeing the doctor .. told them that is ridiculous for anyone I wait that long .. they asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I told them no way and I wouldn't be back !! Next thing I get a notice from my insurance and they charged my insurance company .. so I had to put in a complaint to my insurance company against focus vision ... I cannot believe this place is opened for business it is absolutely the worst !! Don't waist your time !!!! read more

Note that this is an update for a previous review. My first experience was fine but my second set of glasses after getting my last prescription was a disaster. They do not stand behind their prescriptions. I had a terrible experience with my last pair of eye glasses. Note that I purchased top of the line lenses which cost close to $1K for the frames and progressive lenses. The first pair of lenses were placed in a pair of Oakley frames that I had already owned. These were horrible and I couldn't see past 20 feet at all. There was a suggestion from the tech that maybe these frames were a bit too small for progressive lenses. Vision Focus accepted responsibility for the poor results and I accepted that maybe my frames were not a good choice. I then order new $300 frames and Vision Focus agreed to put in new lenses at no charge. So this was fair and I was happy with the agreement. When I got the new lenses in my new frame my vision was still blurry for long distances. This is the first time I have had any issues with progressive lenses after wearing them for about 15 years. I was told to give it at least a week and my eyes would adjust. My vision was so impaired that I couldn't comfortable drive with them. So when I drive I have to resort to my old prescription. One time a few weeks ago I forgot to switch them back and I wore my old ones. When I realized I my mistake I put the new ones back on and wore them for 2 more weeks to see if my eyes adjusted. They did not. My conclusion was that I had a bad prescription. When I contacted Vision Focus to see the doctor again and have my prescription fixed, they told me that my 6 week grace period had expired and I would be responsible for 60% of getting my prescription fixed. I was not aware of the 6 week limitation and I believe that they should be responsible for a good prescription regardless of being past 6 weeks. They failed in my diagnosis and did not take responsibility for this. I am now stuck with $1K glasses that I can only use in the house and I have to swap out for my old glasses when I drive. I gave them 2 stars because there facility is nice, the staff is friendly and professional. However, this a medical facility that does not stand behind their doctors prescription and that is simply not acceptable. read more

WARNING THIS IS A LONG REVIEW BUT YOU SHOULD READ IT Worst experience I've had thus far. I am a very patient person and I understand learning curves so I'm usually totally fine and calm and willing to wait if a mistake is made or whatever. But It's been 3 months and still I do not have what I paid for. Ok so it started out great, I explained that I needed a Saturday appointment because I am in the funeral industry and I hadn't had time to take off for obvious reasons with Covid and what not. So they scheduled me a Saturday appointment and when I got there they were very friendly and took me in quickly. I stated that I wanted to have the health of my eyes checked and they offered me a special scan that looks at the back of your eyes at an additional cost. Apparently this does not count as a health check which I found out later. So the appointment took about an hour and a half but I was not being examined that entire time I was mostly waiting in a warm room. I understand waiting as they seemed busy and understaffed. So I got about HALF of the tests that my usual doctor gave me and they came in and told me that the prescription did not change much which I figured. So it should have been easy to create my lenses right. I waited 2 weeks and they called me for my glasses. When I got them I saw double and blurry but they said I would need to wait until I got up in the morning because "your eyes are just adjusted to your current prescription" ok sure I'll try it so I did. I ran into door ways and tables for a good day and a half before I had to go back. They scheduled me a second appointment and then I met with another doctor for a total of 5 minutes. She was very rude and said it's me, not the doctor that made a mistake and the prescription is correct. I said ok well all I know is that I can't see I'm not blaming anyone I just want it adjusted. I figured they're just cut wrong, so she said I would be using a special lens device to try the prescription in the office and sign off on it. They kept trying for another hour and finally adjusted the prescription to where I could see clearly and I was happy So I signed off. I waited another 3 weeks and came back in for the new glasses and I put them on and AGAIN I could not see. They are clearly cut wrong because I am seeing double again. I gave them back and they scheduled me yet another appointment but this time told me I will have to pay. I was flabbergasted because I'm telling them the lens was clearly just made wrong or maybe the lens place left the same lens in. So they said I would not only have to pay for the new lenses but then when I came in for the THIRD appointment, they said that I would have to get a new type of appointment for the health of my eyes I was confused since I clearly asked the first time if I was getting the health check and they said yes. So they now charged my insurance and charged me for the new appointment. Sat in the exam room for an hour and 15 mins and then the nurse came in and said the doctor decided I would be getting dilated this time and I said I cannot do that because I had to go to work afterwards and I was not told that this was basically a deal breaker with this doctor. The doctor made this woman go back and forth because she wouldn't come in to the exam room to talk to me until I got dilated so I said no and I wanted a refund by this time. The doctor is rude and defensive for whatever reason. They refused to give me a refund because this is a custom item and told the insurance that I have the frames but I did not. Worst part is I now see that this is a standard practice here AFTERWARD by looking at these Yelp reviews so I still do not have glasses or a prescription. I went to Focus Vision Optometry at 1668 E 2nd St ste B, Beaumont CA 92223-3168 for a contacts fitting. Once the doctor was done examining my eyes, she provided me with trial contacts. When I asked for the prescription to the contacts, she refused to give it to me. I asked why and she said that I would need to come back a different day to get it. I told her no, I paid $75 for this service, and I need to know the specs of my contacts. I need to know the base curve, the power (sphere), and the lens diameter. These are all extremely important things to have for contacts. She said she would give it to me when I get my permanent contacts with her. I explained that I am ordering custom contacts and need that information. The doctor said no, I could only get my prescription if I get my contacts through her. I asked for my money back and she refused. This place does bad business. read more

Rude staff. No acknowledgment when arriving. Approached the front desk 10 min before my appointment and the person behind the desk said to wait. There was only one other customer sitting who had already checked in and 6 staff standing around chatting with each other. I browsed the glasses on display passing time until the person behind the desk would acknowledge me. I approached the desk twice more with no acknowledgment and then I patiently waited near the other counter with more people standing around taking to each other. I'm standing in the middle of an empty floor with no other customers around as my appointment is now in 3 minutes. I approach an office door with two people inside l, again just talking to each other and ask if I can check in with one of them or at the counter, and they directed me back the the first counter where the person still didn't acknowledge me or check me in. I waited patiently next to the counter, until my appointment time passed, looked at the time and said I'm canceling my appointment, and the person behind the counter tells me I'm late for my appointment. The nerve. I tell her, no, you guys are late. I'm leaving. The attitude from all of the staff is they can't be bothered to talk to you, acknowledge you, ask any questions, or check you in for your appointment. I can see why they currently have two stars. I made an appointment for a full, comprehensive eye exam and could not be more satisfied with my experience. I really appreciate how Dr. Pham took the time to make sure I had the right prescription for my contacts. My contact lens fitting was great and the lenses feel comfortable. I had taken my daughter in whose 4 for an Eye exam the doctor was good. The wait was an hour. With Barely anyone in office. I then waited a month for the prescription to be ready Jsut to find out the prescription was wrong. And had to take them back next day. They then said I wasn't approved for the presciption for her but I was and I got my letter . I dropped them off just to call back 2 weeks later with no Update and then say it was approved waited again another several weeks I called back to ask when they would be ready & they said never got my approval letter and that the glasses have been sitting in office the whole time waiting.. which is ridiculous. These people don't know how to do their job especially when it comes to children who need their glasses. If you want to wait months and I mean like 4-6months for your glasses then go to these people. read more

Ordered contacts on 3/5/22 and spent $160 dollars. Still have not received my contacts as if 5/3/22. No one in the office can give me a competent answer as to why I'm still waiting for them. I called the office for answers several times and Rosie says they will look into and call me back but nobody's does. Simple thing... I have been very happy with my eyeglass prescription from here, so I figured I would go ahead and take an old frame and ask them to put in updated lenses. I figured I was just in there about a year ago, so this should no big deal as California does not require new lens prescriptions after just a year. So, I am greeted by this rather unpleasant person and I state my request. She looks up my record and says I can't just get the lenses because it's been more than a year (by about 2 weeks). I say that's ridiculous as my prescription is perfectly fine and I am having no problems. So, she goes to talk to someone towards the back of the reception office and returns with this "too bad, so sad" attitude and says I need to schedule an exam. Not on your life! If I have to get an exam, I will take my money elsewhere! My husband warned me not to go back for this and he was right. I am so disappointed that the only provider here is so poor and lacking in professionalism and customer service ethos. Are they aware that there will be another provider entering the market right across the street from them? Do they think it's cool to allow such unprofessional individuals serve as the "face" of their business? Omg, worst eye exam of my life! The doctor spent a total of about 10 seconds with me. Kicked me out the door and was not even considerate of the old contacts brand that I wanted. She told me I have to switch brands, I wear color contacts and my old brand is still available. The new ones they want me to switch to are about double the price. I thought I looked at reviews on Focus Vision before I made an appointment, but clearly I didn't as I now see the low ratings. I went to Focus Vision in Beaumont about 2 weeks ago for an exam for contacts and glasses. An assistant conducted the various eye exams then told me the doctor would talk to me on the computer screen! The doctor came on and said everything was fine with my eyes. I told him I had the beginning stages of cataract in one eye, but he said he didn't see anything. After I was done talking to him, the assistant handed me sample of contacts for each eye. As I was putting in the contacts, I was told there was a $60 contact fitting fee! I told him I didn't want the samples for $60, but he said the charge was standard regardless of whether I took the contacts or not even though NOBODY FITTED anything for me! He asked if the receptionist told me about the fitting fee, which she didn't and he apologized. This fitting fee is a total scam! When I got home, I saw that the "doctor" didn't mention anything on the prescription about my astigmatism and didn't mention I needed toric contact lenses! WTF? This "doctor" didn't notice my cataract, didn't notice I had astigmatism and scammed me for a $66 fittings fee when there was no freak'n fitting at all. This facility got my prescription totally wrong! I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CONSIDER GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE! My insurance paid most of the bill, but I have to now go to another eye doctor that knows what they're doing so I can get a correct prescription! I'm pissed and should go back there, and maybe I will to at least get the money back my insurance company paid! If you can completely AVOID this eye doctor office. The only good thing I can say is that my glasses are good and maybe the Best prescription I have had. But if customer service is important to you AVOID this place. The office staff are teenagers at best with no customer service experience. I had a test done in middle of December with no results provided with multiple phone calls to find out the results. No managers on duty to field complaints and multiple messages left with no return calls. Multiple excuses on why my results have not been provided. Absolutely the worst customer service I have had I would rather go to LensCrafters for a not so good prescription but great customer service. The one star is for my glasses only as the customer service and employees at the Sundance facility in Beaumont California are the reason to avoid this facility. Sitting in a room with 6 plus ppl waiting ( not including the staff working), is ridiculous. No social distancing practiced, no cleaning the seating areas. Cleanest Office, Nicest Staff, and Greatest Ophthalmologist Ever!! My 2 pairs of glasses (6 years old) and my spare 2 pair of glasses (far more years old) were all thoroughly broken and beyond repair. I could not make up any more excuses to my wife about avoiding the eye doctor. And yes, I did try... I was immediately greeted with pleasant smiles by the Staff the moment I came through the door. Insurance, ID, and Reason for visit were a quickly-smooth transition. ALL of my questions were answered at the front desk without eye rolling, exasperating breaths, or frowns. The office is extremely busy, which is a sign to me that Focus Vision is doing something right. They wanted me to have a seat the moment I was finished with intake. It's good the Staff "handled" me because my wife says I can ramble on for hours. Now, please understand that I've been in and out of Eye Doctor places on Military bases and civilian offices for years. I have a lens implant and I've suffered from Iritis in the past. Everyone at this office OBVIOUSLY knows what they are doing. I met the Doctor and I don't remember her name. But, She's A real Ophthalmologist (M.D. or D.O., I don't recall the exact acronym from the degree on the wall, but I know it's one of them) who answered every question before I could ask it. I was really impressed. I exerted my stubborn male request for actual glass for new lens' (I do this every time) and the Doctor told me NO. Flat Out No!! The way she said it and explained why left me with no room to argue. I can tell she saw my stubborn request coming from miles away...lol. Okay, this Doctor has ALL of my respect and more!! :-) Who doesn't like a Staff and Doctor that does what's best for the patient?? Even when the patient doesn't like it! Staff...SUPERB!! I came here for the first time in 2019. it was close by and my other optometrist was in Loma Linda and my work schedule makes it hard to get there before they close. The staff was not friendly and a little cold. The optometrist was ok but not personable in any way and made you feel like a number. she was supposed to call me after she got my records from my old eye doc but never heard from her at all. I put Money down for 2 pairs of glasses and due to a financial emergency could only afford one pair. I asked for my 75 bucks backs before Christmas and was told that they dont do refunds! the lady at the front desk said she would ask the doc but was pretty sure she would say no! I never heard from her again! ita pretty sad when people who are obviously not strapped for a few bucks wont refund your money and don't even take the time to contact you with an explanation! Nearly as bad as the pharmaceuticals! will never go back to that doctor again! they o obviously think of you as just a number and a dollar sign and not a person. read more

Sundance location. I had an appointment, waited 1 hour and 20 mins for the assistant to check my eyes and then waited another 20 mins to see the doctor. They called 5 people ahead of me that got here after me. I asked the front desk how much longer, they said I was next but then called 4 people after that before me. From the time I got there till the time I left I was there for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Never have i ever been to an eye doctor that took half this long. I will add though, the doctor I did see was very sweet and very knowledgeable. She informed me I got skipped in line for my appointment and was very apologetic. read more

Came in for an eye exam, Dr recommended glasses for better vision but was also concerned about my eye pressure as well as a large optic nerve therefore wanted to do further testing. He said these tests would be covered by my regular medical insurance, not vision, as they were due to a possible "medical condition" ... I paid for the ridiculously overpriced glasses and scheduled the appt. for the tests 2 weeks out. At that time, I asked what my co-pay would be for these tests at the next visit and the girl said she would find out and call me ... never got the call. The day before my appt, I received a call from them to confirm the appointment and at that time asked about the co-pay amount again ... the girl said she'd pull my insurance authorization to check, and placed me on hold. 5+ minutes later she comes back on the line and says she's transferring me to so & so ... this next person proceeds to tell me that since I have an HMO, I can't have these tests done at their office as my HMO won't allow it ... but if I wanted to continue with them, it'd cost me $180+ out of pocket. Uhhh, no thanks! Kinda makes me wonder, had I not asked about the co-pay, would they have sprung that on me AFTER having the tests done?? Because 2 weeks had passed and no one bothered to inform me of these tests not being authorized by my insurance ... yet wanting to confirm the appt anyway? So, 2 days later my glasses are finally in and I go in to pick them up ... the girl sets them on the table, tells me to put them on which I did, then says I'm done ... goodbye. No explanation about the lenses, no cloth cleaning wipe, no paperwork! But what really pissed me off is when I asked for my PD (which was conveniently missing from my Rx) and she refused to give it to me. She gave some lame excuse of "if you order glasses online using our PD and they're wrong, we don't want you to blame us" ... total bullshit. I have been diagnosed with social anxiety. I struggle to try new places. I struggle to communicate with people overall. I only tried this place because I didn't want to make the commute to Alhambra from Banning. I have given this place 2 tries already. The first time I went was last year 2020 and I went in for a regular eye checkup. The front desk had all my insurance information down so when it was time to get my glasses , the lady helping me started talking numbers and I asked "what does my insurance cover?" And she asked "you want to use your insurance ?" I was a bit annoyed at that part but I let it go. She did her thing and when it came time to get my glasses I wanted shades with no prescription and she wanted to go ahead and say my insurance doesn't cover that. I know what my insurance covers. She ran back and did a little back and forth and apologized for the mistake. I went again a few months later for contact fitting. The contacts prescription was less than what I was previously given at my previous optometrist office. I tried to tell the doctor she wasn't listening but I let it go and stayed with the contacts she gave me. I had major headaches for that week. I felt nauseous. It was horrible. Went back to let the front desk know that I needed another appointment, one of the front desk ladies quickly gave me a different prescription without the doctors consent. I took them. My eyes were content with the new prescription. My follow up appointment came and I told the doctor that the new prescription was way better than the last and she said there was no new notes on the new prescription and that no one was authorized to change the prescription without the DRs consent so she was going to have to give me the previous prescription and go from there. Luckily, I took a boomerang of the contacts when I got them and I showed it to her so she was able to accommodate me from there. That was just 2020. Fast forward to July 2021 I went in to get glasses - prescription this time. I didn't want to get contacts that day and I told the doctor but I was given a contact fitting anyways. I let it go. Anyways, I got glasses and the prescription is off. I don't have the time to go back and forth so they could fix the issue. I'm just going to wait until January for my insurance to refresh and go back to making the long commute to Alhambra. I also ordered contacts since I got fitted and I was already there. One month and some change went by and my contacts were not ready for pick up so I called the office and was told they'd call me back. Waited 2 days and no call back. Walked into the office on Thursday August 12th and was told that they couldn't find my contacts and the lady helping me checked the computer and said "how weird. It doesn't even show as if it's back ordered." She placed the order again. She also gave me a new trial pair and my right eye was not my prescription by a little bit but I was trying to remain calm and I took them. Nothing I could do then but wait for my order. I got a text 4 days later saying my contacts were ready for pick up. I waited over a month for something that could've been done in less than a week ? It's ridiculous. My vision is something that I do not take lightly therefore I will not be going back to Focus Vision. read more

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE and FAST SERVICE I had my eye exam at the san Jacinto location, I was in and out in and out in a timely manner, staff was friendly and even though I did not find glasses at this location the girls had no problem communicating with the Beaumont 2nd street location and allowing me to choose glasses there. The optician that assisted me was JAZ, Not only was she welcoming and burst of a great energy, but she provided multiple options for me to choose the best style that fit my face, explained my prescription and went over my benefits. I didn't feel rushed and was ultimately able to pick out a great pair and after my insurance benefits , I only had to pay less than 100$.. After leaving the office my glasses returned BEFORE the promise date and the girls were very accommodating in allowing me to pick them up. After receiving my glasses, I recognized a difference right away and am absolutely in love with them and how fast, professional and courteous my experience. Thank you JAZ and the focus vision staff. Picked up my husband's prescribed Harley Davidson glasses and they were given to me in shoved in a generic case that was not suited for the sunglasses style. I told the reception that it was not the Harley Davidson case, so she went back and found a Harley Davidson case, but it was suited for a regular sunglass shape thus would not shut all the way with the type of sunglass we purchased. This has to be by far the worst business I have ever encountered. Sure the staff was nice and friendly my first visit, but that was the end of any help or honesty. I went to get new glasses, and i needed them to be progressive lenses, due to i had a major stroke at the end of 2019, and it makes me dizzy when i look thru standard bifocal lenses. This wasn't covered by my insurance so i paid cash. i also requested them to be transition lenses because i have sensitive eyes to bright lights. The out of pocket expense was $284. Ordered them on 1/28/2021 and to date (2/23/2021) they have repeatedly said they will be in tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and still nothing. They do not answer the phones, and when you leave a detailed message, with callback number they have never called back once, after leaving more then 10 messages combined between my son and I. They originally stated it would take 2 weeks to get them back, and it is now going on 4 weeks with no end in sight.You have to sign a waiver from holding them accountable for their product. There is no refund or cancellation of the glasses, so if you never get them "Tough Luck" they are not required to meet any stipulated timeline. The Better Business Bureau does not have a listing for them, so no way to file a complaint. PATIENTS, EYEGLASS WEARERS BE FORE WARNED IF YOU EXPECT THEM TO PROVIDE SERVICE, GOOD LUCK!!! read more

This place is a constant headache. Their Calimesa location took 6 months to get my daughters glasses. Then gave me the run around has to which location they were at. Then, after paying for my husbands glasses they did the same thing. Took 3 months to get $400 glasses. When I asked for a prescription for each of them with the pupillary distance included they refused. Unfortunately I had to go in to replace my husbands lens and I confirmed twice they'd be at the Beaumont location only to be told after driving almost 2 hours to get there that they are in Calimesa. This place is awesome, the staff is clueless. They take your money and don't care about anything else. I'd avoid at all costs. read more

Unprofessional, disrespectful and corrupt. This office is full of incompetence. And a complete breakdown in any kind of integrity, After 3 attempts, they failed to fulful my glasses prescription. After over a month and a half of waiting on glasses that i could not even read through every time i recieved them with incorrect lenses. (3times they were sent back to fix) i finally asked for my money back. $300 out of pocket with insurance. They refuse to reimburse me and have now stolen that money from me as i have returned all of their materials. The office manager hung up on me during the disagreement. Avoid this business at all cost as they lack any kind of professionalism as well as a complete lack of integrity in their business model. Take a long look at their reviews here and on yelp. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau and all other applicable agencies. As a Veteran, as a Teacher and as a general consumer these people are disgusting. read more

Made an appointment to get my glasses fixed. Was told I could drop them off and ended up waiting 1 hour & 30 minutes before I even saw the dr. Didn't know I had to go through the entire process all over again. Poor communication skills here. And extremely slow customer service. read more

It was my first time coming here and I really liked my experience. They constantly sent me reminders of my appointment which I liked and my visit only lasted an hour. The staff and doctor were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately my insurance only covered the generic brand glasses and they weren't the best selection so I did have to pay out of pocket for nicer ones but that's out of the staffs hands. Although I did receive 30% off the frames I got. Overall great experience. read more

I won't be going back. Their customer service is terrible. They made me feel like I was wasting their time. My first time there, they made me wait over 30 minutes just to schedule my next appointment. Subsequent times that I've called or gone in, I've had to wait several minutes, even if there weren't other customers. And I was still treated like a burden. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, although I will say the doctor was nice. When I went to pick up my contacts, it was quite a wait just to have them handed to me and bid goodbye. It's my own fault that I didn't realize until I got home that they were the wrong brand (right prescription) - I was in a hurry and should have checked. I appreciate Dr. VanGuilder's attempt to address my complaints. That makes me think that she really does care about her patients. I believe it's her office staff that's lacking. read more

Still one star. Thx for responding to my review 2 years after the fact! Only to claim i mistakingly reviewed the wrong business?! Are you kidding me? Sounds like you still don't take customer complaints seriously. Considering all the problems my wife had here i would never give you any business again (PERIOD) nor would i recommend you. They NEVER attempted to fix this issue in a timely manner like Tanya claims. Tanya your response 2 years after the fact is TRULY shameful! read more
