Dr Ball is the nicest eye doctor I have ever had. He is very thorough and explains everything so that you can understand how the eyes work and what causes problems as you age. The office members were nice and very patient with me during the eye tests as well. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely continue to get my eyes checked at this office. read more

Just had my annual eye exam. I have never felt more informed. Doctor explained my options when it came to updating my prescription or getting new glasses. After the exam - no pressure to buy anything. Friendly and easy to understand staff. Everyone was friendly and efficient. It is so nice to patronize a business where my needs and interests are clearly important and my expectations are exceeded. Highly recommended. UPDATE: Stars for the Doctor. No complaints about the staff but, like most providers, they don't make it easy to buy glasses if you don't know how insurance works (or even when you are told by the Insurance Company how much things should cost). All my questions were answered but I got the feeling I had to ask the right ones or be in the dark about why I had to pay such a high cost compared to what my Insurance Company told me to expect and when compared to other places (or online). PD not included with prescription either so another hurdle for me. In my mind businesses should help and inform me, and if I choose to buy from them they make money, but if I choose elsewhere they at least still recommend what I should look out for and make it easy for me to comparison shop. I won't be recommending them other than the Dr and I would have if I had a better experience. read more

I have a file in there case load so, I consider myself a customer. I went in for an eye glass frame repair although I hadn't purchased the frames there. A simple screw. That cost me 5 bones. The screw sheared off within 3 months. (I think it just sheared off from taking my glasses on and off my fat head) I went back to have it fixed again. Now they want to ship the stinking frames out to Los Angeles claiming it's not their fault. This proposed repair will cost another 50 bones and will take at least 10 days. I walked out. Perhaps this local business thinks their customers are made of money. read more

Neither my wife nor I had gone in for an eye exam in several years, and since we finally had vision coverage, we both decided to do so. I chose this office because it was relatively close to home, and seemed to have positive reviews overall. Once I had completed my eye exam and was in the process of choosing a new frame, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The price, after insurance, was reasonable, and there weren't significant wait times in the office. The problem lies in the glasses we both received. After leaving the office with the new glasses, I noticed while driving that my distance vision was noticeably blurrier than with my older, weaker prescription. In addition, while I was not having issues seeing things up close, I also didn't feel that I was seeing with the same degree of clarity as with my old prescription. It seems like there should be at least one out of two that was in some way improved, right? When my wife picked up her glasses, the issues she had with them were even worse - she said it felt like her eyes were straining with the new glasses, resulting in frequent headaches. At night, she had problems driving due to light trails, and a severe halo effect on street lights and the light from oncoming traffic - the problem being, she didn't have this problem at all with her old glasses. We thought that possibly the lab that made our lenses had screwed something up. On a whim, I had her go in for a quick eye exam when we were shopping at Costco. The doctor thought the problem was the anti-reflective coating on her new glasses, but it turned out to be the prescription - her eyes were much closer to her old prescription, which was causing all of the problems she was having. This turned out to be the case for me as well. I'm not sure what the issue was during our appointment - equipment that needed calibration, clerical error, etc. - but what I can say is that we paid several hundred dollars for glasses, both received prescriptions that made our vision worse, and will not be going back. read more

Today was my first visit at this office and I really enjoyed it. The ladies in the front office were very helpful in helping me pick new frames and price them all with my insurance. Dr. Ball was very thorough and very good at explaining everything step-by-step and showing me all of the retinal scan's. First of all, I want to say that the doctor and his staff are very nice. From what I saw, he is a good doctor. However, the office is extremely dirty. Everywhere I looked, something was broken or dirty. From the chairs in the waiting area, to the old and stained carpet, to the plant caked with dust, to the restroom. Don't even get me started on the restroom. It's absolutely disgusting and worse than a gas station restroom. I wasn't comfortable there because of the run-down manner of the office so I won't be back. I have never, in my life, been inside such a run-down and dirty doctor's office! I'll return to my nice, modern, and clean doctor's office. She was booked out for a while, that's the only reason I tried this place. read more

My family and I have been seen by Dr. Ball for over 5 years. I have never been disappointed. The front and back office staff are knowledgeable, helpful and kind. They greet you with a smile right from the start and you're in good hands all the way through. Dr. Ball is the best. He takes his time and the examination is very thorough. He has state of the art equipment and it was fascinating to get an up close look at my eyes! The frames were reasonably priced and there were so many trendy frames and sunglasses to choose from. I've lived in the town over, beaumont. For 3 months now. I scheduled my appointment for the first of the month. Now I see the negative reviews are for pricing/wait time. That is silly too me. I am on a fixed income. Disability, it is enough barely for even necessities. As far as a wait, come on. Have some darn patience. When dr. Ball got to me literally 9 o'clock on the dot. He was very nice and professional. I have experienced major damage too my brain. He understood that and completely accommodated my vision needs. Even explained in depth what the issues were. The 2 lady's at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Not being an a hole. But u don't like it? Get your money up and some patience. read more

I would not recommend this office. The front office are not friendly, and almost boarder line rude. I saw the Dr., then after the examine, I told them I was not going to buy my glasses from them. First off, I did not see anything I liked, and if I am paying 300 just for frames, I am going to buy something I like. So I waited for about 30 minutes for the doctor to "sign" the prescription. I had another appt, so I told them I needed to leave. So they said they would mail it to me. Now keep in mind, this office is about 2 miles from my house. 7 days later I still do not have my prescription. So I called the office and she said that she could not find my file, but she will look for it and mail me the prescription AGAIN. WT heck. They never mailed it in the first place. Just be honest and admit you forgot. And I paid a 15 copay for the eye exam, and they said to thank Obamacare for that. Then I said, I don't want to pay for another co pay for my eyes to get dilated. So they cancelled my appt. I find out, that it is a medical issue, and I would not be paying for a dilation, per my insurance company. BAD customer service!!!!!!! The people here are really nice. They are hospitable and make you feel very comfortable.... However, when it comes to billing, I had such a horrible experience. The very young woman who pulled my insurance somehow tried to charge me off of a previous insurance from an old employer that had been expired for a whole year. They tried to charge me way too much money for my exam and my contacts. I left and did not go back to get a supply of contacts, so I never received any products from them, yet they chose to bill my insurance anyways! (The correct one since they found it after I told them there had to be something wrong because I shouldn't have to pay such outrageous fees.) I attempted to go somewhere else that was in my insurance's network and they said that because this place already charged my insurance that they could not cover my order. I had to go back to this place to settle the matter. This office then told me that if I did not pay for the product that they ordered for me (that I didn't authorize) that I would have be responsible for the full cost of the product. Absolutely infuriating! I feel as if I was backed into the corner and robbed by this establishment. WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

I went in with my 11month old daughter to get glasses made a while back thinking they were the experts and would now what is best for a child that age, my mistake for trusting their expertise. The glasses were not at all suitable for her...not understanding why my daughter would not wear her glasses I took her back to the eye doctor and the perscription was way off !! I took them back and it took about three months to get them back.. Then when the glasses needed adjusted they told me well if we break them we are not responsible for the damage!!!! So I took the glasses and my daughter and walked out... I went over to walmart where Dotty was amazing she and cleaned and changed the arms of the glasses because they were not suitable for a 1 1/2 year old all free of charge and the glasses were not even purchased there! So if your looking for people who have your best interest at heart and know what they are doing I would not recommend this place! read more
