I have used Fog Busters a couple times now. Kelly previously replaced that single pane window for a reasonable price when I found a hole my front window. It took a while to get the window back but well worth the wait. Kelly also came by today to replace the single pain window well window in my basement. Kelly was very upfront and said that whole window needed to be replaced with a different window framing altogether. Instead of trying to upsell me and have me buy a window replacement Kelly actually tried to fix the window. Hopefully it works. If it doesn't I will get the window replaced through his service. If you want to find a company that is honest/forthcoming and reasonable to replace a piece of glass instead of your whole window Fog Busters is a great place to contact. We got ours windows on second floor installed in January of this year and everything was great. Well, until fall with boxedlers bugs. We used to have them only outside for years and this fall first time they started to get inside. I asked Kelly for check windows, even sent him a pictures of baldly done capping on one of the window in question and got reply " get exterminator" . Yes, that the latest I heard from this company and this is while they knew we were planning replacement of windows on first floor with them. So, they are willing even to loose customer but refuse to fix with 3 years warranty.... Ellen, it's Saturday , 10/27/12 and we could check if capping was fixed and can confirm it was. But again, it's Saturday , daytime and I see few bugs trapped between screen and window, actually I saw the same last weekend, wanted to be sure. Something is still not right, I thought screen won't let in even small mosquitoes, why else we need screen for? read more

I wish I would have read the 4 comments below before I let the owner in to replace the glass...my experience became verbally abusive when I asked the owner Kelly Platt about fixing the damage to my floors,paint and door jamb which was caused when he let a 6ft piece of glass fall to the floor. He told me to F+÷=% Off. Really,in all my experience in dealing with repair men,cable guys etc,no one has ever been verbally abusive like Kelly Platt I have had some heated conversations in my life concerning lost packages,missing luggage,poor workmanship etc,but for the owner Kelly Platt to be so absolutely mean and unprofessional is beyond belief. read more

Worst experience ever! We ordered a piece of glass to replace a broken one and it took over 6 weeks! I finally called to see where the glass was and was told it got returned while they were on vacation. Mind you I was told it be replaced prior to their vacation. I was also told I would be contacted the following week; well, one week went by and no word still. So I called again asking where our glass was, and I was told, "Well, we're really busy. I guess we can get you in this week." He did arrive at scheduled time but did not clean up the broken glass which, when he gave me my quote he told me he would do. It took over 6 weeks and I had to beg for it to be installed. I might as well have gotten a new one from Home Depot. They're nice people, but the service was horrible! read more

I wish I would have read the previous reviews before patronizing this store because I had a similar negative experience. To avoid this getting too lengthy, I'll just give the main points. The work I had done was a large window replacement. Pros -The price was fair and competitive -The installer was very friendly and polite Cons -The owner was a no show for measurement appointment after we took off work to be there. -Agreed to take off $40 for the inconvenience but later refused to so do and even denied being a no show. -Sent one installer who was 30 min late for a 2 person job. The weight of the large window caused the installer to drop the old window inside the house resulting in broken glass all over the floor. The installer called in for help, causing more delay for the arrival of the owner. -The final bill did not include the previously offered "no show discount". The owner became hostile and rude when reminded of the commitment and refused to honor it. read more

We will never recommend this company. They do not call when they miss an appointment and don't even show up. We rescheduled with them because we have a mold issue that needs to be taken care of immediately with a newborn infant in the house and was a left a note on my husbands work van stating sorry we missed you, please call to reschedule. We were home the whole time and no one called or rang our door bell. Now we have to deal with mold with an newborn infant in the house. read more

We had one large window replaced and it is installed, looks nice and the price was the lowest around. But he damaged our stone ledge just outside the window, a bit of the siding outside and there are many dings on the wood on the inside. It took much longer than initially stated to get the window ordered and in. By the time he said he would be installing he called to let us know he was going to come and remeasure. We couldn't believe he hadn't ordered it yet! He installed it by himself and it took all day. I am sure it was really a two person job. There was lots of banging that shook the house over may hours. I believe he mismeasured and I fear what damage he did making that window fit. I can not recommend this company. We have more windows to replace and will spend more for the peace of mind that it will be done right. read more

The crew left a mess all over my home upon installing a replacement window. They also notified the owner that a screen needed to be replaced. The owner came and measured and said he would drop off the new screen the next day. He did. The screen was over an inch too wide! I called his cell which is on his business card he gave me and left a voice mail which was never returned. I emailed him. He replied that I need to schedule him to return thru the office and gave me that number. The lady at the office said she would have him call me back because he would know when he could come by. He called and agreed to be there the next morning in a half hour window. I waited - and did not go to my office so that we could get this done. He never showed. Never called. Nothing. I called him the next day to ask why I had not heard from him - he stated that he could not be there. I asked him why he didn't call or anything!!?? He started in on some lame excuse and I just cut him off and said that's fine - when would be a good time for you? He said the next afternoon. Great. I left my office yet again to meet him and he was a half hour early. Thankfully I was also earlly of I would be out of luck again. He came in and remeasured everything and literally said OOPIE! Seriously. Oopsie. And that he could have another screen to me the following day. I took over a week to get a simple screen done. When the owner of the company comes out and can't get it right, never apologizes for mistakes, and the crew leaves a mess....there really is no good reason I could come up with to ever recommend Platt Windows to anyone. read more
