Foggs Automotive is a scam. I bought a car and within days the check engine light was on. Returned for service 3 times. Stop/Start did not work and I was told I was not using it the right way by Josh. I had it serviced for oil changes every time it was due. 7 months into my ownership the fuel tank leaked and the car overheated. Went back again and was assured it was fixed. In December the fuel tank leaked into the oil tank and blew the motor. I was in my way to Chemotherapy. Towed to Foggs and assured I had the extended warranty. Foggs refused to repair the Fiat 500x stating the warranty company would not authorize repairs. It is now July and Foggs has the car. They removed all parts in the front end, engine, battery, fuel tank are all sitting inside the car. And somehow my records have disappeared. I'm stuck with a car loan for a car that was a lemon and almost killedme on the highway. Foggs had not provided proof of denial from warranty co. Foggs will not honor their engineer coverage for life either. Also incidentally the door handle fell off in my hand after 4 months! read more

And I'm pretty sure that it was worked into my contract for a fee. Nothing is free! Financial hardship is when you don't have your rent but your landlord still looking for their money. I have visited Fogg's Automotive three times in the past two weeks. Two out of the three times, I had scheduled a service (oil change, and then replacement of tires). Fogg's used to have scheduling available online, but currently the service is down. If you wish to schedule a service, you have to call. The woman doing scheduling was incredibly friendly and accommodating on the phone. The people I interacted with in the service department were extremely nice and professional. The third time I visited, I had an impromptu flat tire. They fit me in right away. The costs for oil change, tire replacement, and tire repair all were very fair. Beyond the "one dime down" offer, this radio ad mentioned an unparalleled engine guarantee. My service contract includes free lifetime oil changes for which I've mainly been returning since 2018. I went to Fogg's to get a recall done on my car. Decided I may as well have them do the inspection while I was there. They proceeded to to me that my car failed because of the back brakes, rotors and tires. Yes, the tires were due for replacement. When I called BS on the back brakes because I just had them done 3 months prior, I insisted on seeing the problem. They took me to my car, didn't take the tire back off and showed me some dirt on the inside of the rotor. They tried to make me believe (because I'm a woman?) that they were chipped, gouged and falling apart. Kirk Graser INSISTED that they wouldn't pass. In fact, they told me that because of the negative equity on my vehicle... there wasn't any way they could get me into the vehicle I wanted. We decided to purchase a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV, it was overpriced by at least $3500.00 dollars and they wanted to give us $500.00 for a 2008 Jeep Liberty. Push, push, push till they got a deposit to hold car from my daughter. We went to a Nissan dealership in Albany, New York and purchased a 2020 Nissan Rogue SV with an interest rate that was 10 points less than what Fogg's offered and received $2500.00 for the 2008 Jeep VS the $500.00 that Fogg's offered. Looked at a truck online last year and worked with a salesman via telephone. He got me approved with the bank and said I'd need a $2000 down payment. I told him no problem so I sold my only vehicle that afternoon as I already had a buyer lined up. Called the salesman and told him I was on my way with the deposit. He said " ok we have it all cleaned up and ready for you out front" only to find out when I got there a half hour later that he had sold it on me to someone else minutes before I got there now leaving me with NO vehicle. I bought a car from this dealership a few months ago. While we were inspecting the car, my fiancé noticed that there was a plug in the back tire. We asked about it and Jennifer said the car would be getting all new tires. In the excitement of buying the car, we neglected to double check and did not notice until about a month ago that the plug was still there. Instead of fixing the problem, they lied to me and sent me out with a cheap, unsafe plug. When I brought the car back for an oil change, I brought the problem to Jennifer's attention, but she insists she only promised two new tires. In addition to the tire, the car is also missing its antenna so the radio barely works. I didn't notice at first because the dealership is in the middle of nowhere, so the poor reception didn't seem weird. Thirdly, I recently brought this car to another dealership to address a parts recall. The service people at this dealership informed me that the automatic transmission fluid, brake fluid, and the power steering fluid were all in poor condition. The car is an '09, and a top rated car, a Mazda 3, so I didn't think it was necessary to bring it to a mechanic prior to purchase, but I wish I had. I should have looked at this car MUCH more closely than I did; the car they sold me was not in the condition that it was represented to be in. I feel like I was taken advantage of and I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. I gave this dealer a low rating because they value their own bottom line over the safety, security, and satisfaction of their own customers. read more

I was having my box truck serviced here for quite some time when I brought it in because the steering was stiff. I was told it needed the king pins replaced and it would be over 1600.00 I went a head with the repair. 6 months later the steering was become stiff again. Again I brought it in. I made an appointment for Wednesday and brought it in. My truck sat and was not even looked at till Friday. (This was my only work truck and I'm losing money everyday I can't use it) final Friday after they tell me the king pins need to be replaced at a cost of 900.00 I asked about the price difference and the service manager could not provide me with a clear answer. (That made sense) I called Gil's Garage and spoke with them. (Told them the whole story) They said that the pricing was very high and that king pins typically stick or become stuck from lack of greasing. (Remember Foggs did oil changes and service on this truck) I went back to Foggs and asked about the greasing and they could not tell me if they had been greasing them or if the truck even had grease fittings. (Only 1 tech Rick every worked on this truck) After a short conversation that just went round and round. I said "well let's go look at the truck and see" well wouldn't you know, it had grease fittings! The tech still could not tell me if he had been greasing them when it was here for lube and filter service. At this point I was beyond annoyed and informed the service manager I would be leaving with the truck and taking it to Gil's Garage. When the service manager heard this he became very nasty, mean, rude and upset. ( probably because he knew I would find out they were full of sh*#) Gil's looked at the truck and greased the king pins and the truck was fine. Nothing was replaced or changed! The cost was nominal. After this all happened I spoke to Chuck Fogg and told him the whole story. He claimed he would speak to the service manager and the tech and get back to me. Well I checked in with him once a week for nearly 8 weeks. Finally he tells me "you can get harassing me but it won't get you a resolution any quicker) really you couldn't have a conversation with your employees over 8 weeks? This is when I realized he was not going to do anything. This whole experience cost me nearly 3000.00 between repairs and lost income. They are crooks and thief's!!!! Fast forward a year later. I happened to see Chuck Fogg at a Stewart's Shop getting gas. I asked him if he would like to pay for my gas and he thought I was joking (I was not) he didn't even remember until I refreshed his memory. Again he said he would look into it and contact me. Completely incompetent service shop. I paid $365 to replace three tire pressure sensors. I paid my bill and drove away. Immediately the tire pressure sensor alarm came back on. I turned around and was told that the fourth sensor was out, and it was too late in the day to replace the sensor. I was told "sorry" and sent on my way. Unacceptable. read more

Nobody likes to spend money on vehicle repairs. It is always more than you expect, especially on newer cars. Having said that, I had a great experience at Foggs. My 2011 Buick Lacrosse was running very rough. The mechanic, Rick Mendrysa, tried a few things before the code came up saying I needed a new catalytic converter. Yes, it was expensive, but I felt like I was being treated fairly. The customer service is top notch. Very friendly. More than one person asked if I wanted fresh coffee and I was able to go online in the waiting room. The young ladies in the service area could not have been more accomodating. I was given a free loaner car for a week and was not put through the mill to get this. I treated the car as if it was my own and filled it with gas upon the return. Whe I picked up my car I found that it had been hand washed and lightly detailed. Who does this? I will use Foggs for all of my automotive needs from now on.... read more

My sister came here for the advertisement of credit amnesty 29$ down regardless of your credit. We came in and we worked with one of the saleswomen, who would just laugh at everything we told her. Seemed very unprofessional, and giggly over absolutely nothing. Found that very disrespectful since my sister is expecting and when that came up in conversation, this woman just laughed at her. When talking about what needed to be paid for the down payment, the woman skipped over the sales tax and how much it would be. Later she told us it could range between 2-3 thousand dollars. My sister decided she wanted to wait and think on it because this wasn't something she was prepared for. Our mom went and told the manager politely that we didn't want the credit ran, and if we could just scratch the paperwork. This man picked up the paperwork and just ripped it in half, and then resumed doing whatever he was doing. Completely disgusted with how low the professionalism is here. The financial man is a joke. My daughter was trying to buy a car for $12,600. He came back with a payment of $320/month for 72 months with $1800 down. He told us that the interest rate was 15.5% Well that come to $24,800 for a $12,600. Do the numbers the payment for a $12,600 loan at 15.5% not taking in account the down payment should be $270. when I questioned him about it he said I need a new calculator. horrible horrible horrible! would give negative stars if I could! I have not so great credit and so I went to try to buy a car, since they always say they can approve anybody so long as you make a certain amount per week. I make a salary, so I get the same amount direct deposited into my account every week, sometimes more if I recieved a bonus. I make way more than the advertised minimum requirement... over $800 a week. I brought my pay stubs in but forgot my bank statement, so I was told I would have to wait to buy the car, which was fine at the time. after filling out all the paperwork I was told I was only approved for one car on the lot... a 2016 Kia Rio for 11k. not what I would have picked, but I was still OK with it. my girlfriend and I left a check as a deposit and left, we returned the following week with my bank statement and $2000 to put down. when we came back, we waited for over an hour to speak to someone, then found out they had lost our paperwork from the bank that had approved us for a loan. the sales representative blamed his superior, and his superior blamed the sales rep, either way they never found it. so we waited another hour and eventually the sales rep came back and showed us a piece of scrap paper with some scribbling on it. he told us our payment would be $350 a month! we were confused as to why it was so high and he said because my credit was not good. when we asked what the interest rate was, he didnt have an answer, but he said the maximum interest they could charge was 22%, which still didn't make sense because 22% of 11k is 2400 (+/-) broken up into a 5 year plan would be $223 a month. we asked how they came up with this number, especially since the original bank paperwork was lost, and he couldn't give us an answer other than because my credit was not good. then he proceeded to tell us that the car was 14k, not the 11k he originally quoted us! we said no that $350 was ridiculous and we wanted our deposit back. after waiting another 30 minutes or so, we approached the supervisor and asked where our check was because we had to leave. he said he didn't know, again putting blame on his subordinate, and said they would mail it to us when they found it. we left very dissatisfied. a couple days later the sales rep called and said they found the check and would mail it. we have never recieved that check to this day. don't waste your time going here. they brag about approving anyone and everyone on their advertisements but they cannot. if they couldn't approve me with $800/week direct deposit and $2000 down then they most certainly cannot approve anyone making less than that, unless you want to pay Mercedes-like payments. very very very disappointed and I discourage anybody considering this as an option. it is a complete waste of time. read more

I came here looking to get out of my lemon of a car and it's payments. I got approved and the down payment seemed ok. I quickly found the rental car lease in the glove compartment after my purchase. It is a 2015, and I had to bring it in a month later because it would leave me stuck everywhere. I had to take it in 4 times and get 4 different reasons for breaking down until they finally found out why it was "breaking down". Luckily, I had Emergency roadside included with my insurance company! Kurt at the auto service of Fogg's was very helpful though (He should get 5 stars)! He always said it was something that was covered and I barely paid out of pocket. Last thing I had repaired (that was the real reason I had to keep bringing it in), was the fuel pump. Now tell me, is it possible that a 2015, can need all these repairs in 2 years? Or maybe it's just me? I highly doubt that it would "break down" if it was a 2015. Anyway, free inspections and free oil changes are good too. But, since I am part of the "Credit Amnesty" program, I am paying for it in the long run. Advice I would give is to pay for a CarFax report! If your gut feeling says 'don't take it's, listen to your gut! read more

I send my wife to foggs auto for a nysi and they told my wife she need over 1000$ in repair and I told them they sold me the car last Jan the guy told me so. I found a car we loved online at Fogg's we were interested in and wanted to look at. My father and grandmother have gotten cars here so it's one of the reasons I chose to look there. I called and spoke with one gentleman who scheduled my husband and I to come look at the car and test drive it. I confirmed the morning of as well. As soon as we got in the door, he greeted us but had to hand us off to another salesman because he was in the middle of a transaction, and we were fine with that. The new man immediately had us sit down and fill out applications. We told him we did not want to do that yet, we wanted to look at the car to see if it even fit our needs. He insisted it was policy that you apply before you could actually look. I KNOW this is false because my father and grandmother both walked in and looked at card and even test drove some and only applied once they found what they liked. Despite my instincts screaming at me, we applied because the car based on what we read online, was exactly what we needed. Doing this flagged both our credit reports with hard hits. After we applied it was an hour later and they said they wouldnt have an answer until the next day because it was already after bank hours. So we wanted to still see the car, they did not allow it. They had us schedule to come in the next morning. I left there FUMING. I had gotten a babysitter for this and for nothing, and now I'd have to bring my small children with me in the morning. We got there with our kids and had to sit and wait a bit more and he came back and said we were approved for the amount so we could go look at it. We noticed some big scratches on the bumper and drivers side and asked but he said the carfax was clean. Probably an unreported accident, it happens. He said it would be buffed. Alright. We sat in it, looked at the features and trunk space, etc and liked what we saw. I tried to turn on the navigation and the SIM card was missing, he seemed surprised and said we'd have to buy a new one for it, could probably order online. Okay, fine, although I think it's something they should have caught, and replaced. We went in side to get the keys and we decided my husband would test drive while I waited in the lobby area with the kids. About 15 minutes later my husband comes in and he's frustrated. He tells me he noticed something was up with the front bumper and when he got down and looked under he found the bumper was being held on by ZIP TIES. The salesman comes back to us and I ask about it and he says he honestly doesn't know. I tell him that there is no way the mechanics fix other things, including the recall part issue and just miss the bumper. We express that we are not paying 22k for a car that's bumper is being held on by zip ties, what can they do about this? He leaves and comes back with his manager who says the "higher ups" choose what gets fixed and what doesn't and they had already about around 2k into the car when they got it. I asked if they were even going to disclose this to us. They don't really have an answer. The manager changes the subject, and says he can't really knock the price down much, maybe a couple hundred dollars. We tell them we're leaving and will discuss it. They called us Monday and we told them we are NOT interested in doing business there. The entire thing was a fiasco. They hit my credit with THREE different inquiries and for no reason, clearly the moment they saw us and we looked "young" they decided to make us us dot he credit application first. We are both just about 30 years old. Others outside of my family, who have purchased at Fogg's have told us they didn't have to go through all of this. They just looked and test drove and did the rest after. We were most definitely profiled, and that's not alright. And neither is being deceitful about things going on with a vehicle.
