NOW CALLED FOIL SALON Meryl has been doing my hair for yeeeaarrsss. I won't go to anybody else for color (my husband used to do hair so I will let him cut my hair). I have natural level 3 black asian hair but I love being blonde, you always want what you *don't have right? The problem with that is getting to a pretty, non-brassy blonde while keeping your hairs integrity. If you try to go from black to platinum hair in one sitting you will guaranteed damage the living shiza out of your hair. It is a process, I can't emphasize that enough, but the end result is so worthwhile. Her rates are reasonable for someone of her skill level and experience. I said reasonable, not cheap. It took me forever to find a place in this town that could cut hair! The art of a razor seems to be gone, they don't teach it in schools like they used to! So if you want texture, its hard to come by. I have Ria do my hair, but I think the owners (men) are great too. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can have wine while you have your hair done. I love this kind of place where everything seems comfortable and casual. very good customer service and fun people. They have great hair color products and let you help with the styling of your hair if you like. I have super short hair, so if I think their good, believe me, they are! I picked 4 out of 5 starts because I think its pricey... but, when you can't find anyone else who comes close, you pay up! read more

Shyer is the bomb. I'm such a fan of stylists who love what they do and Shyer definitely falls into this category. She's rescued my hair from an unfortunate highlight incident and makes my mop of hair look and feel great. (For those with copious amounts of thick, long hair - she's awesome with the thinning shears) Her attitude is always positive and she takes time to find out what you want done and makes recommendations accordingly. This salon has taken a turn for the WORST! Since the old owners sold the salon there has been a complete lack of customer service. The staff is all new and has no clue how to do any sort of styles. The new owner is by far the bell of the ball! She has no clue how to run a salon and is completely RUDE, SNOTTY, and obviously doesn't know how to run a business. I was also called 4 times throughout the day to confirm my "appointment" which had been moved to another stylist...(WHICH I HAD CANCELED)...I went there specifically for MY STYLIST that moved...and when I called to find out where my stylist went I was told several different MADE UP places by the OWNER. I looked for an hour trying to find the salons she told me!!!! Then when I called back to confront them on the issue I was put on hold for 45 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO THIS SALON I AM STEERING EVERYONE I KNOW THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM NOW ON! read more

I love this salon! I've been a hairdresser for 20 years, though I no longer work behind the chair. I moved to the Springs 3 years ago & it took me that long to find a decent place for a cut let alone a great one. But I have finally found it here at Salon 7. Ria gave me the best haircut I've had in a long time. The people are super friendly & they are able to get me in when I need it. There is not loud obnoxious music playing so you have to shout to your stylist & the atmosphere is just right. Not so relaxing I can hardly move but not too busy. Perfectly avant-garde. In beauty you definitely get what you pay for & Salon 7 is worth every dollar & then some. read more

I had been looking for a good stylist for about a year, and ran across this place because it was near my house. I went in and my stylist was great. She gave me a great cut and did not lecture me about my hair. Which I really appreciated. I am a college student so yes I box dye...I don't have the money to do it any other way. Like I said I had a great experience. Nicole was great, professional, and really really fun to chat with. I went to Salon Seven a handful of times and I love that they are locally owned. The stylist (from checking their website, she's no longer listed as working there) who cut and colored my hair was personable and did a great job. The color was perfection. In fact, everyone from beginning to end seemed pleasant. Their hours are what has me prevented me from going back anymore. It was so hard to schedule an appointment due to the hours I work. They are open Tuesday - Saturday 9am-5pm almost exactly the hours I work. Though, their site says that they will schedule outside of working hours, it was never mentioned to me on the phone while I tried to get an appointment that fit my schedule. At the time I must not have noticed it or I would have mentioned it to them. Trying to get in on the weekend was next to impossible unless you're one of those "together" people who has their life wonderfully organized and planned out for months. I wish I could say I was one of those people but I'm pretty much a train wreck. I can't dock Salon Seven for not accommodating MY lifestyle BUT in order to get a weekend appointment I would have to schedule 3-4 weeks out. In addition, sitting in a salon for two hours of my weekend getting my hair colored is not something I'm willing to do with my limited free time. I feel a bit passionate about this because I really wanted to continue with the stylist who was doing my hair. . . . . she was great. But due to the limited hours, I could not make it happen. Pam has a passion for hair, and it shows in her work. My cut and color is fabulous, and it wasn't hard to see all the effort that was put into making them that way. It was a lot more pricey than previous up scale salons I've been to (not moderate as listed here), but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

After moving here I wasn't sure who to go to for my cut and color needs, so when I finally decided on a big change I asked around and found consistent praises for Shyer. Going from brown to blonde was exciting and a bit nerve wracking but Shyer put me at ease as we talked about everything. Needed to squeeze in a haircut while visiting the Springs and this was walking distance from my hotel downtown. Loved this salon experience from start to finish. Easy to book online. Greeted promptly at 10:00 am by a smiling Meryl, a clean and cozy interior and a fresh pot of coffee. Meryl is a sweetheart with mad hair skillz. Fantastic service- relaxed atmosphere. Amy did a great cut and style on my daughters hair. We went in not needing much of a cut (since she wants to keep the length), yet Amy was able to give her a 'fresh' new look. She was fast and knew just how to thin her thick hair to get it to look perfect and stayed to show her how to style it herself. (We were last appt). I have a short cut and have tried so many places in the springs over the past 10 years. I'm pretty freaked out whenever I try a new place. Ria does a wonderful job. She does an AMAZING razor cut that brings out beautiful texture. She listens each time to what I want to tweak or try. Gives great suggestions about what would fit my face with shape and length. Re-states all the details to make sure we're on the same page and viola - awesome haircut. She also is very meticulous at the end to make sure everything is trimmed up and just how I want it. Salon Seven already knows how l feel, but anyone else who cares to read reviews should also know things are not always what they seem. I had my hair cut or chopped is a better term and colored by Meryl. I had really long, thick, wavy, healthy hair prior to stepping foot into Salon Seven hoping for something different, but nothing outrageous. After my haircut, the "stylist" ironically had a really tough time styling my hair; this was when I started to worry... She had to put three products in to make it work and made it so flat against my head I looked ridiculous. I could not wait to leave and rush home to try to fix what was left. When I washed it and styled it myself, I realized a horrible layer was put in about 9 inches above where I wanted it. Then, the color faded to a red instead of the warm brown I was hoping for. I did touch bases with Rick, one of the owners; he tried to help with the styling which I do appreciate. I previously left a not so great review on this site, not sugar coating what happened, then received a call from the salon canceling my T-part telling me to go to another salon... I am sure this could have been handled differently. Sure, they are nice there initially. But not so nice when they get a grave review. Now I have to live with this terrible haircut/color for at least a year and I am $150.00 out because I trusted these reviews. read more
