Fox and Jane never disappoints and that's mostly due to Dani. Honestly, there's a reason why you can't get an appointment with her less than 3 months out - she's the absolute best at what she does. I've been going to her for years, but after I became a mom I needed an appointment last minute and couldn't get in with her fast enough so I made the HUGE mistake of going to someone else in town who has a great reputation - let me tell you - what a disaster! He didn't know how to cut my hair nor did he listen to what I was asking for. But I got a haircut with Dani today and even my husband noticed the difference. Second time at this salon and fox and Jane doesn't disappoint. It's a very clean salon with a modern vibe. Courtney did my hair both times and I highly recommend her. She is easy to get along with and was very considerate of my hair needs. I had black box dye in my hair and I wanted a blonde highlight look. They cancelled my appointment 3 hours before I was supposed to come in without a reason.

I've waited months to write this review. I used to see Theresa at Fox & Jane and loved her! She was the best and I trusted her with my hair for cuts and color. Once she moved, I saw Miriah. I have naturally curly hair, but my hair always turns out better if it is cut straightened and dry. I went to my appt on Feb. 21st, 2025 with my hair already straight. I explained to Miriah that my haircuts always turn out better if my hair is straight and dry. She said she "doesn't do that" and basically refused to do so. So I trusted her because she is the curly hair expert after all, and I let her wash my hair first and then cut it wet. I told her I wanted a couple inches off the length, plus face-framing pieces and more layers. She cut maybe a couple inches, but did not do any visible layers or face framing pieces. However, it was hard to tell this at the time, because of how she fixed my hair (not how I normally fix/wear it). Once I got home and wore my hair naturally curly a couple days and saw how bad it really was, I called the salon and explained it to them and said I wanted to come in for an adjustment. They agreed and had me send a picture of my hair. I did so. I went back on March 1st, 2025 for the adjustment with Miriah. She agreed that it needed some more shaping/layers, etc. and I tried explaining again that's why I like it cut straight and dry so everything can be seen better. She did cut it dry this day, but it wasn't straight; it was my natural curl, because I wanted her to see how bad it looked. She then proceeded to butcher my cut even more than it already was. She said she didn't want to give too many layers because then it would look like "a mullet". Uhm excuse me? What a weird thing to say. How can a woman's long hair end up like a mullet just because you want some layers?! She then did a weird technique I have never seen anyone do, where she twisted certain sections of my hair and then ran the scissors down the twists of hair to make layers I guess. She kept doing this and I thought it seemed like too much, but I wasn't going to say anything because I am not a hairdresser. I trusted she knew how to fix it. Long story short, she then made too many chunky, choppy, drastic-looking layers. My hair ended up being much shorter than I wanted, with horrible looking "layers" that were not blended at all, and looked like I had bad extensions that were not blended. The length difference between the shortest layer I had and the longest was about 7 inches, which is quite a lot. She also sprayed some texture/curl spray in my hair which made it super sticky and gunky so I still couldn't fully tell how it looked when I left. I don't understand how someone can screw up someone else's hair so bad, especially when they are considered to be an "expert" for the type of hair you have. I ended up researching a lot of salons, and found a different stylist at a different salon who does dry trims, and went to her about a month later for her to fix the mess the best that she could. Overall, I am not happy at all with my whole experience with Miriah and will definitely not be back to see her or recommend her to anyone! read more

She took a long time to discuss exactly what I wanted - blunt cut, balayage hair that blended at the top with my natural color, and even discussed the thickness of the highlights. I don't know where to even start. I moved to Colorado Springs about 4 years ago and i've normally just traveled back up to Denver to get my hair done. I was recommended to Fox and Jane but specifically to Theresa. So I thought I'd give it a try since I had heard from more than one person that this salon was amazing. When you first walk in the salon you definitely feel welcomed. The salon itself is very trendy and super clean. There is a definite fun and positive vibe between all of the staff. They also offer complimentary drinks which is always a nice touch. I came in to have Theresa do my balayage. It had been about 7 month since I had gotten my hair done prior to this appointment. I had brought in some pictures to show her but really just gave her creative freedom. She is so knowledgeable and really cares about the health of the hair. From the consultation to the end of the appointment she made sure my whole salon experience feel like a real luxury. She was very attentive and checked in to make sure that I had no needs throughout the service. I am obsessed with my hair and I for sure will be coming back. Unfortunately I didn't have the 5 star experience I was hoping for. I made an appointment with Amy and though I am giving her 3 stars I think she is a good stylist. I just happen to be THAT mess up, it happens and if she had followed up to get me back in to get what I wanted my review would be better. How it went down: #whyarebadreviewssolong I walked in with lots of blonde in my hair from my summer balayage soiree, but I was ready to go dark again. Really dark. Now right here, I know better.... I should have done this at home with my stylist I just procrastinated and the roots were a mess so I needed to get them done. It's xmas I want to look good for the holidays. No pressure there. The short of it is I got the opposite of what I wanted, I got reddish brown hair with dark lowlights, I wanted dark-dark just short of black hair with some redish brown highlights. Amy has a client who's hair is close to what I want we looked at her image together. I did all of the stuff you're supposed to...showed pictures of me with the color, a color I've done more times then I can count, and showed her other images with the dark hair and highlights. The hair color is not the reason I did not have a great experience, it can be fixed. It is that she said she would follow up and get me in to darken it and she didn't. I probably could have done without the awkward conversation with the receptionist at the end also. She had been warned that I didn't like my hair so she tried to tell me that... really I should ease in to going dark. I was taken off guard by that, if I ask for a color give it to me that's what I am paying for - I didn't say that, but instead I asked her age and said the old broad thing....I've been dying my hair longer then you've been alive I know the color I want. For me it can't be too dark. Never thought I'd sound like my grandmother. Thanks. Listen it isn't fun having someone you know is unhappy... and to be fair she offered to have me stay and darken it but I'd been there 3 hours already and I wasn't sure I liked the cut either. Plus I was having an Ally Mcbeal panic attack. I told her I needed to play with it and decide if I wanted some chunks of dark added or something else. The follow up never came. Theresa is the BEST! I moved here last year and it's always so intimidating finding a new hair dresser. I found Fox and Jane, loved their vibe and culture and started looking at stylists. I found Theresa's Instagram and absolutely loved her work and was so impressed. But meeting her and having her do my hair was even more incredible! She takes the time to truly understand what you want and then completely brings it to life. On my most recent visit we went lighter and shorter which was intimidating, but she KILLED it. She took off six inches and I couldn't love it more. She books a couple months out so make sure you plan for that. But it's worth the wait because she's so talented! About Fox and Jane- their culture is incredible, they're so accepting, kind, and make your whole haircut/color an incredible experience. I could not be happier to have found Theresa at Fox and Jane. My hair feels so fresh and on point. Theresa has a gift! My hair has such great dimension and I'm so pleased with the length and the warm blond that she suggested. It was a really fun experience as she's so easy to get along with. I liked that we had some mini discussions as we went along about how to frame my face and about length and tones, but I trust her judgement completely to do what looks the best. Aside from the cut & color, I'm also a big fan of the ambiance, the salon has great esthetics and there was an awesome playlist playing the whole time. I know that reviews for hairstylists are so subjective, but this review is based on basic things that shouldn't have happened. First, this is a review for Melissa. She was not particularly warm when I arrived but we all have off days and I dont expect everyone to be a ball of sunshine every time I see them. but her demeanor did sort of set the stage for the experience that would play out. She said that she likes to cut hair dry. - ok - she said she would trim it up after washing (nope, did not happen). I left with long (almost unnoticeable layers) and uneven hair length! the hair on the rt side of my face hung about 3/4" longer than the left. no it was not an assymetical cut. I had to trim it myself when I got home. I had asked for a shorter back and angled transition to a longer front for the bob - there was very little transition - it is nearly even. in addition, she didn't really care about blow drying my hair to style it - but just to sort of dry it quickly and get me out of there. it was wonky looking and not styled at all. all in all it felt like she'd rather be doing a 100 other things than being at work and cutting my hair. my haircut showed that. I left feeling rather marginalized. yes, we all have off-days - but - I won't be returning. read more

The salon is cute. The stylist I went to was very sweet and polite. A really nice person. And it seems that she's good at coloring from her instagram. I just didn't like the haircut. I think she'd be fine if you want a trim and know EXACTLY what you want. But if you go in with photos and ideas and wanting a stylist's guidance and expertise on what would look good for your hair, then another stylist might be a better option. I wanted some body to my hair and she said body comes from styling products. When I left my hair was flatter than when I walked in clean and air dried hair. I suppose I could have said something but how do you fix bangs that are too short already? Plus at a certain point you're just embarrassed and want to not have your hair touched anymore. I went home and cried. It's silly to cry over your hair but that's what happened. This is minor: I was in and out in 35 minutes for the advanced haircut that's advertised as a 1.5 hour cut. Now, I can't imagine a 1.5 hour haircut, but advertising it in that way to justify the cost seems misleading. read more
