Disappointed in the cavalier attitude of this salon. They do not value the salon experience, nor the thoughts and concerns of their clients. When concerns were brought up, free product and blame were thrown at the problem instead of the individualized/personal care and attention that they perpetuate. They market themselves as a luxury experience, but the whole process felt rushed and de-personalized from the very start. I ended up taking my extensions out because it was too uncomfortable to lay down to sleep. I only had them in for about 3 weeks and after the 3rd time getting them redone (at Crown), I went to a different salon to have them looked at. I was told they were not installed properly, and I had tension spots forming so I ended up taking them out to prevent any balding. When I told my situation to Lindy, the office manager, she immediately mounted on the defense that "it could never be us, it's you and your other stylist. Oh and you signed a contract so your SOL." I understand that at the end of the day it's a business that needs to turn a profit, but that should not come at the cost of integrity. It's disgustingly apparent to me now where their motives lie...DO NOT get extensions installed here! *Response 10/14: I have already tried reaching out to you directly, and was told I was sol because I signed a contract. When I told you I was going to have the contract reviewed (not hire a lawyer) your response was: "Since you've mentioned legal action, we must cease further communication and refer this matter to our legal team." I asked for a refund for the labor/install as it was not done properly and told you that I would even still pay for the hair thinking that was a fair offer. However, that was not sufficient for you. UPDATE: The lady called and she was really nice asking about the bad review and what happened and what they can do to regain my trust right. She continued to tell me about the training they do every month or whatever saying that they know what to do. I told her what happened and said that my hair is fine now and short and healthy again. Told her because of my class times I couldn't make it to their salons since they'd be closed. I also told her that a hair professional of mine said the beads may have been too close to the scalp or somewhere the installation went wrong. She said well i'm not trying to bash your friend or anything cause hair professionals shouldn't bash other hair professionals but she wasn't correct and I don't think she knows what she's talking about. I was like okay well i'm not sure what happened and how I ended up with dreads or matted hair but it's over with so not much we can do. My hair is healthy again. She was like "well I would have come on my off time to make sure you were okay and taken care of you" and I apologized saying I wasn't aware and that was my fault for not reaching out before taking them out BUT I didn't find out I had matted hair across my scalp till the AFTER the time I took the hair extensions out. I also took care of the extensions and followed the after care steps they provided me with the day I got them done. The lady proceeded to ask what they can do to gain my trust back and if there is any way I could take the bad review down. Saying my post wasn't accurate, could you atleast update it?" I said look, if I had customers the last thing I would do is invalidate what happened to them (saying it's "not accurate") and their hair and tell them to take their post down. Instead I would care for them and do my best to provide anything they needed. End of story. I took them out without having to go in because I was bothered by how loose they were. I couldn't miss this class that I was in or I would get dropped (military). Which was a 12+ hours for 3 weeks. So I took it on my own time rather than waiting for a response which sometimes takes a day to respond especially off hours. Again, I didn't figure out till AFTER I had them taken out that my hair was matted. At that point there's not much you can do. I took all the hair out, cut it and what not and waited till the following week to get my hair cut and treated by a different salon. *Now from what I see with the other 1 Star reviews on here I'm getting similar treatment. Being blamed for as the client and making it seem like this was my fault and telling me my post was inaccurate. read more

Always real hair that is meticulously color matched to my own. To say my standards are high is the tip of the iceberg My consultation was friendly and thorough. I had about a million questions which were answered with extensive knowledge and obvious experience. I was provided examples of the different kinds of extensions, we talked about what would work best for my extremely thin hair and I left feeling good about it. I scheduled my appointment for about 10 days later. My girls were fantastic. They did some highlights for me as well as my extensions. I work in an extremely conservative area of finance and made it clear we had to have natural looking hair that all matched. Holy smokes did they deliver (I had a small request for a tiny bit of toning 2 days later and I was met with absolute sincerity about wanting to make sure it was perfect, they got me in that day and that kind of immediate customer service and care was mind blowing and made me feel appreciated and cared for as a client. The toning corrected the extremely minor issue and everything is 100% perfect) I got the micro-bead extensions and they look amazing. You can't tell I have them. They cut my hair very well and blended it so nice. You cannot tell where my actual hair ends vs where the extensions begin. My parents are here for Thanksgiving and have no idea. My mom even complimented how nicely I've managed to grow out my hair Overall experience was beyond my expectations. This salon has a client for life with me. In response to Crown .. again, it comes back to Crown staff not being honest and blaming the client. I requested to speak to the owner to discuss what happened, but as you can tell that has not occurred. The reason why I was looking into clip Ins or extensions was for my wedding in March and I wanted longer, thicker hair for the hairstyle I want and showed the salon manager pictures of the hair styles I was wanting. Now, my hair is shorter because Crown ruined my hair with a Brazilian blowout they reassured me would not ruin my hair. Once they ruined my hair, they refuse to make this right and continue to place the blame on the client. I came in twice for consultation. I was looking at getting the 18 inch clip-Ins, so why wound I go with 16 inch extensions when that was the same length of my hair at the time? I explicitly requested the 22 inch extensions and said if I thought it was too long, we could cut some of the length off. Again. This is where Crown staff are not being honest. The comment made to me by the stylist installing the extensions did occur. She said I "threw a fit" when I did not. I even discussed this on the phone with the salon manager. Again, this is the Crown staff not being honest and not accepting responsibility and blaming the client. I have to wonder if the stylist who did the install ruined my hair by putting the incorrect product in my hair the first time. She was putting the product in and was about 2/3 through my hair when she said "This does not smell like Brazilian, let me check." She cane back and said she put the incorrect product in my hair. Took me back to shampoo out the product and then proceeded with the Brazilian. No matter how many internal investigations you perform, staff will lie to protect themself - this is human nature. This is where Crown fails in customer service by not taking responsibility and blaming the client. read more

My first initial appointment they put the wrong beads in my hair (short brown beads) I was also told my move-ups would be $85. I go in the second time & they put WHITE - BLONDE beads in my hair & I was charged $110. I went in a third time a little late because of the holidays & crazy work schedule & my hair was an absolute disaster. They were going to charge me $250 for a move up ! Thankfully I only had to pay them $110 because I have had a least half of them fall out. I also left an extra packet of hair there that they tried to tell me they couldn't find. Don't do it!! The first words that come to mind are, bait and switch, and smoke and mirrors. They put in choppy, uneven hair extensions. They were placed low on my head. The bad placement and the extensions were just a big disappointment, and when I expressed this to the salon they wouldn't stand by their work and replace the hair, or put it back on correctly. In addition, they gave excuse after excuse to in a transparent attempt to justify why they didn't owe me a refund. Basically, they took a lot of money from me, and didn't get what I wanted at all. This place needs to be taught a lesson in respecting and valuing their customers, and not stealing from their customers. read more

I had my first time ever extensions done with Crown and when I returned several months later to have my extensions redone, it wasn't a warm welcome. Imagine if you typically have the oil changed in your car every 5,000 miles but this time you didn't get to the mechanic until 12,000 miles and when you showed up, the mechanic told you that you waited too long and therefore they were not going to service your car......to go elsewhere. Imagine if three years after your last physical exam, your doctor tells you to find a new doctor because you didn't come back annually. This is exactly what happened to me with my hair when I returned to have my extensions redone. I was so excited that day, that I was going to be able to have them replaced, at least until I was told they didn't want to replace my extensions because in their opinion, I left them in for what they thought was too long. I was left feeling broken and very deflated, like I did something wrong, and now I'm trying to find someone else to take care of my extensions. I was dumbfounded and at a complete loss for words. Long term relationships, a stylist you can trust and depend on, and feeling special is NOT what you'll get at this salon. Now, I will say, that after begging and pleading with them, that they finally agreed to redo my extensions. But how is one supposed to feel after being put thru the ringer like that? Hurt, confused, unimportant? And why would you want them to take care of you after you were treated so unkindly? Crown's process is broken, their customer service is far below average, customers are uninformed, and the bottom line is that they will quickly and eagerly turn against you without warning when you do not meet their expectations, FOR WHATEVER REASON. You are paying them over $1000.00 for extensions - they should be going above and beyond for you. That's right, ladies. Extensions will cost you over $1000.00. Do not go to Crown. There are plenty of other extension salons that will take care of you and treat you like the important customer you are. read more

The final straw was when I purchased hair extensions that were of poor quality. To use their own words, "They were a bad batch". They refused to give me a refund after I told them I was unhappy. They do not own mistakes, or stand by their product. They do not keep their word. They overcharge for a poor product and treated me with no respect. Crown Salon offered one of the most pleasurable salon experiences I have ever had. With over three decades of botched hair at salons, I tread lightly on trying new places. I have thick curly hair and I have had the most difficult time finding a salon in town that knows how to work with it. I need look no further. Jenna at Crown Salon is a master. She listened attentively while I spoke with her about split ends, about not wanting to lose any length, about creating shape without wanting a pyramid. Curly haired women you know what I mean.
