I take pride in finding good places and really trust the reviews I see on Yelp. When I found this place and saw it had 5 star reviews, I was excited to come and have a haircut for the first time in a while. However, I was disappointed with how everything with my appointment making was handled. I had called today around noon and was told that she would see if there's availability today and that she would have someone text me and reach out. She also told me she had a Booksy website I could find on Google by typing in Foliage Salon Booksy and that I could also book there. After two hours went by with no text or response, I took it upon myself to make an appt on the website she had mentioned. I went ahead and made an appt for tomorrow 12/30/25 at 12:15pm with Melissa as that was the only name that popped up on the website. I then received a text message not too long after from another stylist by the name of Letty telling me that I could txt or call that number to book my appt. I then told her I had went ahead and already booked my appt on the website Melissa told me. After that I received what I believe to be an accidental text that was meant for another employee about customer stylist preference that was quite unprofessional in my opinion. Melissa then told me she was going to be out of town. In the end, I just wanted to keep my appointment regardless of already feeling uncomfortable so I just let both of them know that I will take anyone who's available at the time I picked. At the same time, I texted Melissa asking if Letty was the only one available. She let me know that there are 5 other stylists to choose from. Again, I was willing to go with anyone at this point regardless of how uncomfortable I felt making the appt. I then received a notification stating that my appointment was canceled. I was the one that had to reach out and ask why. I was told it was because the other stylist (Letty) has her own website, even though Melissa had initially told me I could go book on her Booksy website. Melissa then rebooked the appt with Letty as that was what we finally agreed on. I was willing to let it all go until I received a text from Letty again an hour later asking what kind of service I was looking for.. which threw me off because I thought we were all on the same page of me asking for a haircut since noon today. She requested inspo pics and current pictures of my hair. I had no problem providing that, however, I was at work and asked if it was okay if I could just send pictures tomorrow as I was busy working. She then stated that she needed to do a quick consultation prior to the service to make sure what I wanted was "achievable" and proceeded to ask for my name. After all this back and forth, I felt like all that information should have been collected already, especially if you're speaking to the person that told you to reach out to me. It felt like I had no option to send them then and there regardless of me telling her I was busy at work so I just let her know to cancel my appt. Overall, I have never had such an issue booking a simple haircut appointment like I did with this place. I was hoping that because this place had nothing but 5 star reviews that it was going to be an amazing experience, however, it was quite the opposite for me. She is such an amazing artist and her work is spectacular. I had been interested in tape in hair extensions for a while but hesitated because of all of the horror stories you hear.
