I got my through grub hub, so they do not travel well. You might want to pick them up yourself, they might do better. I wasn't too happy with these tacos. They fall apart super quick and not much flavor. read more

Was happy to discover this place. Have only tried their Steak, Short Rib and Chorizo tacos out of which I would definitely recommend the Short Rib and Chorizo tacos. At times you might get 5 tacos instead of the said 4, which is always welcome. Just a tad pricey for the quantity. Love that they give guac on the side. However their green hot sauce is not really hot and kinda without flavor. Their wait times are pretty long, even for pickup and their place closes early, hence I've taken off one star. read more

The tacos are very good. We got the steak tacos, marinated shrimp and the basic for the kids. Two orders of chips and salsa. The simple corn tortillas are great and the cabbage or onions and cilantro are both good options. The salsa isn't good. Watered down, no heat, needs salt. With your order, you get a little bit of salsa, a little bit of guacamole and a little bit of a sour cream based sauce. You walk away feeling like the tacos were great, the chips were great, the mini guacamole was great and everything else was watered down to the bejesus. We will be coming back to try more. Suggest adding a red salsa to the menu. read more

I firmly believe that discriminating diners will find Mexican Spice in the Madison/Chatham area far more enjoyable. If you long for authentic Southern California-style Baja-inspired Mexican food, you will very likely be disappointed with this establishment. Granted, their heart is in the right place. Give them an "A" for effort; but after eating here three times, trying various dishes, sadly, the quality of the ingredients is so poor, that this place is permanently off our Mexican food rotation. If you insist on knowing the gory details, continue reading below. Their corn tortillas are sadly lacking. The taste is bland and the texture closely resembles that of wet cardboard. The carnitas lack sufficient spice, and in fact are void of any pork-like flavor at all. Furthermore, they are so dry, as if they have been allowed to sit too long underneath a heat lamp. Forget the shrimp. These tiny East Coast bay-style shrimp very likely spent even more time in a tin can than in whatever warehouse farm in which they were raised. There is absolutely no selection whatsoever of salsas. Best bet is to go next door to Shop Rite and buy yourself a bottle of Valentina's, Tapa Tio, or Herdez Taqueria Street Sauce Verde. Guacamole. Such a missed opportunity. Nothing but mushed avocados. No tomato, no cilantro, no onion, no cumin, no taste. Please don't get me wrong. I'm really not a Mexican food snob. I wanted so badly to like this place after it came highly recommended from friends who spent time living in Orange County. What can I say, other than my quest continues, and Yo voy comer a Mexican Spice. I welcome your thoughts and recommendations. read more

Food is decent but they charge you extra for sides. Every single time I have paid 1.50 for guac and .75 cents for extra guac and sour cream and they NEVER give it to me even though I am PAYING for it. I am not one to write a negative review but why charge people extra for sauces if you're not even going to give it to them every. Single. Time. I have even called and said please remember to add the sour cream and guac since I PAID for it and they still don't. read more

Menu and food is definitely fun! There's a lot of good choices, however the quality of ingredients were so so and the spices were one dimensional. The meat smelled a little bit. I'd recommend tacoria in Morristown over this place for Mexican. read more

At first we were thrilled this place opened another location since the food was truly flavorful at the Montclair joint. Sadly, the experiences left us with a lot of uneaten food: proteins that were claimed to have been grilled had zero indication of grilledness, shrimp was absolutely flavorless and cooked to a pencil erasure-like texture. The items that had flavor = the Pico, the guac (but has that way too smooth not-enough- chunky texture). I'm sad writing this because you can see how hard these business owners are working but I wonder if local palettes Tinga-ized their formerly exciting flavor play list, or if their business has gotten too voluminous too quickly and there's just not enough marinade and grill real estate to support it. read more

The menu looks good, but it is hard to find (it's around the corner from Stop and Shop, near Jersey Mike's) and they stop seating at 5:30 on Sundays, so when I was finally able to find the entrance and walked in at 5:35 on Sunday my date and I were left waiting for a long time by the front door and then turned away. read more

I had a very good chicken burrito that was spicy and filled with a good mix of ingredients. Will definitely come back. Great taco spot. You get four tacos and you can pick two types of tacos for your order. The horchata was a bit mild to our tastes but the carne asada was spot on. Also had the shrimp especial which was a little over cooked but all in all a great new option for taco fans in the area. read more

Had the alpastor burrito for takeout, it was delicious. The tortilla was nice and moist and the filling and meat were very flavorful.

Not sure what the actual rating should be because we couldn't get in to eat. Website says they are open every night until 8 p.m. Went Sunday night at 6:30 and they were closed. This seems to be a recurring problem. Either they aren't sticking to their posted hours or they are still running out of food and closing early. Management needs to step up and fix this problem. An amazing find! I grew up in LA and actually just got back from visiting family out there and went to a few taco stands. Of course fantastic food. This place is right in line with anything in LA. It's just been open a few months. I had three carnitas and two shrimp street tacos. Fresh pico de Gallo and sauces plus lime wedges came with my order. Fantastic! Spoke with the owner who said his father grew up in Mexico and you could taste it in the food. Do not pass this place up. You won't be disappointed. Not sure how hungry I was going to be for a big lunch and the street taco size was perfect. Enjoy! read more
