show some hospitality, kitchen closes at 9:30. okay if you didn't want to serve us, just say that

food is delicious don't get me wrong , we came in 45 minutes before close, kitchen closes at 9:30 so we had 15 to order, from the beginning giving so much attitude. I get that you wanna close early but try to show some hospitality. she kept looking at her time just making us uncomfortable. She was not being polite. I myself work in the restaurant industry, but would never treat anyone like this.

Tasty, colorful environment, and clean! They were decorated with red and pink for Valentine's Day (but it is already pretty colorful inside - now just more colorful). My husband and I sat in to eat on a Saturday evening around 5p and there were a few people sitting inside. Decent amount coming in for takeout. Our waitress was super kind and quick. The guac we had to start was soooo good. Chunky, but not to the point where it was hard to pick up the chunks with a chip. A tad bit spicy, but barely: just enough for good flavor. My enchiladas were very good - I liked it even more with the chips and salsa/guac. Many tasty bites you can make with all of the sauces/sides. My husband enjoyed his tacos! You also get 4 in an order (usually you see 3). Great spot.

We love Leyendas. Just this week, they hosted a special birthday party for 20 at their Morris Plains, NJ location. The cuisine was plentiful and just great. Many of my guests commented about this. I would be remiss if not mentioning the truly nice daughter/mother team who handled our event. It was Denise and her mom, with the mom looking like the sister. We go to the Parsippany location somewhat often, too. Five Stars here.

We were meaning to try this place for quite some time and finally came here for dinner on the weekend. Place is spacious and decor is very lively , we were seated right away. We ordered quite a few things from menu and everything was super delicious and portion sizes were generous. Churros were super delish as well. Great spot and we would definitely come back.

Leyendas has authentic flavors and ambiance, fast service, and an enticing menu. You'd never expect this quality from a strip mall on dealership row in Parsippany. The delicious lunch menu gives you a complete meal for like $12 per entree, and the Spanish-language soccer games on TV confirm you're in the right place. While my guest and I were there, three other Spanish-speaking families took the lunch. I can't think of a better way to pay a compliment to the deliciousness and selection offered here. It's just as good as the Boonton location, which is fan-hyphen-tastic already.

This very casual Mexican BYOB restaurant located on NJ Route 10 in Morris Plains is literally a hidden gem. With eastbound (and down!) traffic pressing down on me as I slowed down for the entrance to the shopping center just past the Harley Davidson store, I missed the right turn. There's only one entrance and exit to the shopping center and the adjacent streets don't connect with each other. Others might have abandoned their plans then and there, but I was committed to trying Leyendas de Mexico so I had no choice but to make a series of New Jersey's infamous jughandle U-turns at US 202 and NJ Route 53 to give it another go. Once we made it safely into the shopping center, we were really happy about the decision to try again. Leyendas de Mexico offers generous portions of tasty, authentic made-to-order Mexican cuisine - including Platas Typicos (or "Typical Dishes" entrees), seafood, soups, cemitas (or "sandwiches"), tacos, and fajitas at a reasonable price. The space, formerly occupied by Riviera Maya's 'Cantina' restaurant, is brightly colored and features an open, airy ambiance with tables for larger groups and booths for smaller parties. On my most recent visit, I had the Chorizo Tacos ($12) comprised of four Mexican street tacos -- 4" corn tortillas topped with ground sausage, pico de gallo, and fresh cilantro -- that was very tasty and quite filling even though it didn't come with a side dish. My dining companion opted for the Spicy Mexican Ceviche ($17), which was a very generous portion of shrimp, mussels, calamari, red onions, corn, and chopped jalapeño peppers served over lettuce in a spicy cream-based sauce. It was an impressive display and she said it was one of the best ceviche she'd ever tried. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. My dining companion and I were unhappy when we recently we stopped in for dinner and the air conditioning wasn't working (or turned on?) despite 90F+ temperatures outside. It was pretty uncomfortable without any air circulating from the HVAC system or standalone fans. I'll definitely be back, but when it's not as warm outside. PRO TIP: The menus in the restaurant don't list the prices for any dishes, which is common in very upscale restaurants but seems strange for such a casual restaurant where even the most expensive items (steak, mixed grill, and mixed grill fajitas platters) are less than $30. All prices are listed on the menu posted on the restaurant's website at https://www.leyendasrestaurant.com/eat/menu/.

Cemita al pastor. Hand included for size. It's huge.

I love my local Leyendas in Boonton, and I am not surprised to equally love one of their other locations. The same delicious food, giant portions, prepared authentic style with authentic sauces and heat, gigantic cemita sandwiches with wonderful fresh bread... bigger than my hand... and I still couldn't put it down despite my ever-shrinking appetite. Too good. Whichever Leyendas you are closest to is the right one to visit. So are all the other ones. I tried to get to another one for Cinco de Mayo, if that gives you an idea. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. All here. (:

Food is always fresh. Shrimps are well cleaned and not mushy. Fish tacos are great. Only negative is a bit slow. But worth the wait.

They're knowledgeable about the many items on the menu and kept our waters and chips topped up throughout the meal. The actual food wasn't as great. I tried some barbacoa street tacos and some fried fish tacos. Everything was fresh and well cooked but lacking in flavor - each dish could be seasoned a bit more. I'm hopeful for the restaurant, and I may try it again if they try new recipes or something different to season their food.

I do feel everything would have benefitted from salt, and I wish that as a dine-in customer my burrito had not come wrapped in to-go paper. To give you a sense of the ambiance: the Spanish-speaking cashier/cook was reading a book when I walked in, and the television on the wall was blaring a Spanish-language TV show. I was one of only two customers when I went for a Saturday lunch around 1p. The other customer was also conversing in Spanish with the front of house. I appreciated that a bottled green habanero sauce was at my table, along with Cholula. It helps add to the authenticity. All that said, maybe don't come here for the tex-mex. If I came back I'd try one of the five different kinds of tacos they offered.
