This place is great. I was heading to a Mexican themed party one Saturday and needed an outfit. Once again I went to Yelp and hit search. Soon after I found myself walking into Folklore de Mexico. I was immediately greeted as soon as I walked in. The store feels like Mexico exploded inside. They specialize in authentic apparel. There's a large selection of dresses and blouses for women. There's also a good selection of shirts and outfits for men. The clerk or maybe owner, was extremely helpful. She brought me multiple guiaveras to try on. Sorry if I got the spelling wrong. She answered all my questions and I soon found myself purchasing a beautiful white guiaverra for a great price. Thanks Folklore de Mexico, my shirt was a hit and admired by all. I highly recommend this place for all your authentic Mexican apparel needs. read more

My daughter could not find her birthday dress until we came here on the same week of her birthday! The nice lady even made the top in a matter of a couple days. We found this store from another parent in my daughter's folklorico class and I am so glad we did. We have been going to Olvera Street to purchase shoes and skirts that we needed but this place is so convenient and Coco was so helpful to us and friendly to our children. They offer many traditional dance outfits and shoes for all ages. What they don't have, they can order. While they do not have a dressing room, Coco has an eagle eye and can fit you based on you standing there...shoes included. They offer much more than just outfits. They have decor, purses are very knowledgeable regarding dance classes in Southern California. We will be repeat customers for sure. read more

So many beautiful items ! I was looking for my practice short skirt and then their long skirts for my folklorico beginner class... the owner asked who my instructor is and where I'm taking classes and she knew who she was and said many of her students come here so that was very reassuring... she was so helpful and friendly and allowed me to try multiple skirts and what was a plus since I'm on the shorter side the short skirts looked liked the long skirts and the long skirts were touching the ground hahaha but she had some long skirts for my petite height. I will definitely be coming back to buy more skirts and dresses in the near future. So happy I found a place close by. read more

Beware of unexpected price adjustments, especially with special orders!!!! After paying for a skirt in full, I was notified at pick up that it would cost me an additional $20. This is ILLEGAL !!!! I wish I would have informed the owner of the information below before I paid her the price increase. Written by Jeffrey Johnson Insurance Lawyer No, a store cannot legally raise the price of an item once you have paid for it. I drove here for huaraches which they do carry BUT I found the exact same huarache at Placita Olvera for 1/2 the price !! Other then that this place is cute and has a ton of things ! Friendly and helpful staff- take cash because they charge a whole dollar for using a debit or credit card! Yikes!! read more

My daughter chose Frida Kahlo for her project and she needed to dress up and get into character. Came across this store on Yelp and was glad I found it. The quality of the clothes is really nice and my daughter enjoyed wearing it for a test run (a photo for her project). I absolutely adore this place . The lady that runs the shop is beyond helpful!! She always makes me feel welcomed! She has everything from beautiful outfits for everyday wear to spice up your day. To party favors for some fun traditional Mexican party. She also has everything I need for my folklorico dancing. From full performance outfits to practice skirts and shoes. Long overdue review! Coco the owner is a sweet woman I met at the park one evening. Weeks later I needed an outfit for my daughters performance at school and I remembered her store and decided to stop by. I walked in and there are so many beautiful authentic Mexican clothing items for everyone. She recognized me and was able to help me put together a beautiful outfit for my daughter. She even took the time to show me how to put on the skirt properly because I honestly would not have known, I appreciated that. We came here to buy my daughter a new skirt, shoes, and a head piece after reading all of the great reviews. I'm so glad that we did because the little shop is amazing. It's small but Coco has everything you need! She did not have the size of skirt or shoes available that day but she was able to get them for us a couple of days later and everything was PERFECT. From the moment I arrived she shared a variety of styles and colors, and even let me try on a couple of dresses -- she share a few of her recommendations based on my height and size! Visited once for a last minute outfit for a Mexican themed party. The lady there was very helpful. The place is quite small, but overloaded with inventory to suit your needs. Pricing is what is expected since these are imported from Mexico. The off shoulder top I bought was around 36 dollars. I'm sure I could have bought it for $15 in Tijuana, but hey! There is a lot of apparel for women, flower head pieces, traditional hair braids, individual flower clips, trinkets, earrings, mariachi hats (sombreros), dresses, etc. I will definitely return and refer people here. read more

I found this place on Yelp, it was the only folklore store open on a Sunday. I was in need of some dance shoes for my family and myself. Finding this place was the best thing that happened to me. I was in the process of planning my daughters quince and Folklore de Mexico just made it so much more easier. My family and I had decided to do a family dance Veracruz style. Socorro and Priscilla made this experience so much fun. They helped us with everything. I was able to get our shoes, dresses, head piece, jewelry, hats, aprons....everything to make this Veracruz dance look fabulous. All my guest were amazed a loved our attire. The employee brought out a brand new set of 6 boxes so I had better chance of getting the character I wanted for her. He was so helpful and patient and very accommodating. I go to my car and peep the box I got, and it was not what I wanted for her. I go back in and ask if I can buy 1 more from the same set (I already bought 2 out of the 6 of the set so the odds were 25% o get what i wanted for my friend). The other employee says yes and SHE PROCEEDS TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND. She shook each of the 4 boxes and explained IN DETAIL why she thinks which character is in which box. I trusted her far more than I trusted my own naivety. So I told her to just sell me the one that she thinks the most likely contained My Melody. She did, and she was so nervous that she wasn't going to choose correctly, and it was going to be wrong. Well fast forward to my friend's birthday dinner later that evening, and I had her at the gift bag and she opens the blind box containing the one I knew was in there that I didn't really want for her. Then she opened the other box, which is the one the employee had picked, AND IT WAS MY MELODY!! The employee guessed correctly, and made my whole year, truly! The customer service was IMPECCABLE. The store was SO CLEAN & ORGANIZED. Will come back only to this Miniso for the rest of my life. Huge thank you to the employee with the long reddish hair (dyed with a little blonde streaks) who really wanted the Kuromi & got to know the shape and feel of the boxes in the process of getting your kuromi (you know who you are)

Probably one of the best Miniso that I've been to…read more I'm tired of seeing western fandom slop at a lot of these Minisos, especially the ones at the mall, so this was a refreshing breath of air. Lots of cute and kawaii goods from Sanrio, Snoopy, and other series. This is probably one of the first locations that I've seen merch from Kanahei Small Animals (even though it was only a mug), Miffy (more than just keychains), and Rilakkuma. But fret not, if you're more of a trendy consoomer or normie, they have blindboxes galore including goods from Sanrio, Disney, One Piece, etc. I don't see it as often at other Minisos, but they have a decent selection of t-shirts, more Snoopy goods than the other spots, lots of Canmake and other make up and beauty goods, and I like the decor and theming that they have here. An inspo wall for the Hello Kitty, Cinnamaroll, etc. fans etc. There's also lots of imported candies that I've never seen anywhere, not online, not at Asian markets, etc. So that's pretty neat. Great place to grab stocking stuffers, pile on gifts for people who love cute things, etc. I think my only qualm is that they don't have Chiikawa here ( I think I only saw 1 or 2 things), but that may be because this is a new location and the most recent release has already been annihilated at other locations. Also just an FYI, this location's parking can get SUPER fisted, especially on the weekends.

He took the time to walk with us around the store, answering questions, opening cases and getting to know us. My son walked out with his first Mighty Ducks figure and my Dad started a new collection of Street Sharks. I am very on edge when taking a kid (9 years old) into a store like this as it can be overwhelming, but as soon as Mike interacted with my son, the stress went right away. Was just like 2 friends talking toys. The prices were fair and Mike made deals with us along the way. Thank you guys for making memories with us, We look forward to seeing you in January as my dad is coming back down for the show. Al, Brandon and Logan.

Let me first say the owner did not write this response as her English is, & this is not expressed to be offensive, but not the best. Your reply is an absolute & blatant lie. You have ZERO decorum, patience, personality, customer service, values or morals. I was the person paying for the item & the owner, Socorro, had already found the information & confirmed it with me so spare us the drama of how you protect information because you absolutely do not! There was no one else in that horrible store but the owner & myself & I chose to leave & told her to keep her skirt because I would not pay her 1 red cent! Whoever wrote this reply for the owner can use nice words to describe the lie they want to portray but the truth of the matter is THIS STORE & ITS OWNER ARE THE WORST, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, AGAIN, DO NOT SHOP HERE!! I am also not the first &/or only review to describe the owners piss poor behavior & bad attitude, read others reviews. I am sure I will not be the last to have a negative experience with this place or the owner. This is not an isolated incident, again, read the other reviews. The positive reviews seem to be fake also, they come after the negative reviews are left. Go to Olvera Street, it's only a 15-20 minute drive & they have everything in stock, you don't need to place orders. The place I found had everything & then some & the ladies there were extremely helpful, friendly, professional & so kind. I found this place over a year ago and I just loved it. There's no where close you can go to get tradional Folklorico and Charro Suits. She orders clothing from all the state's of Mexico styles of dresses. All from Mexico! Socorro was so friendly and nice and above all, so pateint even though my spanish is not the best anymore. Although, she totallty spoke english as well, so it was not a problem at all. We are getting married june 18th in vegas and our theme is traditional mexican folklore. She is making our dresses and our mans charro outfit. We just cant wait to see them. I will post pictures when we make it to vegas. Spead the word she is one of the nicest women ive met and will work with your every need. I will keep going back for life! read more

The thing is I don't do social media (because I work a lot). So when my husband and I walked passed the this location again, it was open, then i asked again if it was open (for me to come in & shop). Two ladies said yes. Then i decided to ask the light haired lady if they were moving to a new location (as I was curious because i wanted to continue shopping at their store in the future). However, when I asked her, she rudely replied "we already told you," as if asking again was a crime. I was taken back, but didn't react to her rude demeanor because she looked young & inexperienced (& she looked like my daughter's age, but at least my daughter has manners). Therefore I told her that the reason I was asking was because I don't do social media & I wanted to know so that I could go shopping at their place in the future. But then she said that they were closing and that they were still looking for a new location. Well, I can see why they are closing. The customer service is very bad. As we were walking out, my hisband and I said "bye" & "thank you." But nothing. I can see why they're closing and why they have nowhere else to place their store as well as I can see why they are going out of business. They did this to themselves. Karma's a b.......
