They also have boutique items, jewelry, gardening, local decor, and a greeting card area. It's a great place for buying unique gifts and they have an online shop too. They do have an email list and rewards, but this place is definitely pricey, so be prepared! Employees are friendly and helpful. They even have an Air BNB cottage in the back. First of all, location: Center Street Mercantile is not on Center Street anymore - it's on Block Street in the same shopping center as Little Bread and Dark Star. It's a welcome change, much easier to get to with a better parking situation. parking nearby is paid during weekdays, but it's free nights and evenings. There are coin meters and you can get more than an hour of time with $0.25. Second, the goods: Nice variety here of party food, decorative bowls, jewelry, local carvings... Good hodgepodge of things. You'll pay more here than at a big-box store but the goods are fairly priced. They also have a farm fresh eggs sometimes! Third, the candles: Yes, the candles get their own category. The owner of the store has a collection of candles he has made that are scented like different hot spots in Northwest Arkansas - Majestic Lounge, Common Grounds (RIP), Thorncrown Chapel, the ballpark... and they really capture the scent of each of these places! I would buy the entire collection if I had the money, but I do have four of them. Fourth, the owner: SUPER nice! He's always been super friendly when I am in the store but he doesn't look over your shoulder while you're shopping. He's really knowledgeable about everything in the shop. Southern Hospitality personified! My wife and I were in Fayetteville recently, and my wife stopped…read morein to Sara Kathryn's to look at their Christmas ornaments. Moments later, my wife comes out of the shop, accompanied by the wonderful lady who was running the shop. I never did get her name. But she had numerous recommendations to help us find a nice dinner on nearby Dickson Street. She even offered us an umbrella, concerned that it might rain on us. We thanked her for all her help, politely declined her umbrella, and went on our way. About 20 minutes later, my wife and I were on Dickson Street, trying to decide on a restaurant, when the skies opened up! We ducked under an awning and were waiting out the storm, when a car pulls up across the street and out hops the woman from the shop, with an extra umbrella for us! She had closed her shop, and come looking for us, worried that we were going to get soaked in the rain. We were floored by her thoughtfulness and selflessness! We thanked her profusely, and finally had our dinner, dropping the umbrella off on the shop porch on our way out of town. Fayetteville has a real gem and an ambassador of Southern Hospitality in Sara Kathryn's, and we can't recommend them highly enough.

We just moved into a new house, and though we looked all over for appropriate pieces to fill the new empty spaces, we kept coming back to the Gift House and buying more. All in all we purchased 3 large items, and 3-5 smaller accent decor items. The only down fall, is the same as all specialty stores, what you see is what you get, and don't expect much help loading. The nice ladies up front are not hiding a strapping 18 year old in the back to help you load your purchase. Give it a try if you are looking for great unique furniture. some prices are a little high, but for the most part I am amazed at how low they price things.
