I really hope the doctor takes notice or atleast his staff, been going to this Doctor since August and still hasnt performed or scheduled surgery or even a biopsy on my infected polups. You have to kiss the staffs ass and maybe they will get off theirs. They made me fetch my own ultrasound discs at Huntington hospital. The Doctor requested me to get a letter from my PCP to take me off asprin for a week, my PCP stated 3 days. It was horrendous, obviously the staff is unorganized or just dont give a rats ass about me. I cant breathe using only 25 % of my breathing capacity, the staff member i talked to obviously said they didnt recieve my fax, but my fax stated sucessful transmission. After several attempts and several days they got it but stated she'll show it to the doctor tomorrow, I blew a volcano, she hung up on me, its 1 month and no response. My appointment was for 3:30, so I arrived a little early around 2:45 since I was in the area. I had lost my wallet earlier that week so I did not have my insurance card, the staff working were not very nice and did not help accommodate me. They had me calling my previous doctors office to fax over the insurance card and when they said they couldn't read the fax, they wanted to call them again to resend it. Then I had to call my insurance MYSELF to have them fax over some proof that I am covered. Overall, a front desk at a doctor's office is supposed to assist with these matter and call insurance companies themselves to see if patients are covered, I mean that is what they get paid for. On top of dealing with the insurance business, I waited in that waiting room for 4 HOURS! I will never again wait that long to see a doctor. And when I went to see Dr. Folmar, he looked like he should definitely be retired. Everything in the office was ancient and outdated. And when I showed him my xray of my sinus completely blocked, his solution was to go to get a CT and prescribed me antibiotics for my sinus problem.... I swear the only thing doctors know how to do is sign a prescription. read more

This place would have been decent if it weren't for the staff working there. Even from that first moment when I called to make an appointment, the people who answered the phone was not in a good mood and she made that clear. With any complications happening, they act really rude and make it seem like I'm the idiot when they couldn't take care of the business correctly in the first place. Oh and make sure to be absolutely fluent in English with little to no accent because you obviously feel that they're looking down on you (Doctor included!). They might argue on this point, but if the person visiting them feels this way, then enough is said. So please save your time and visit another doctor, especially since the waiting time is unreasonably long. read more

Wow, I was blown away by the care I received from this man. Dr. Folmar was so Thorough. and explained everything to me about my sleep apnea in complete detail. I feel like I have a better understanding of my medical issues than I did before. This doctor is magnificent He is through, listens to the patient, misses nothing and treats me with concern and gentleness. Those that are impatient and write reviews about the wait are (in my opinion) non connoisseurs of quality. His staff are wonderful and kind Just remember this: If you go to a TOL (Top of the Line restaurant there's a wait and the longer the wait the more exquisite the palate. I saw Dr Folmar for a QME Evaluation for my hearing. He was very thorough, as was his staff. I was very pleased with the exam, but that's where the positive experience ends. That was in June 2016. It is nearly six months later and they still have not completed or submitted the final report. They have been contacted by State Workers Comp and attorneys for both sides as they are supposed to submit the report within 90 days. They flat out ignore the calls. As much as I liked Dr Folmar's old-school way of treating patients, this negligence is unacceptable. read more

I'm about to be seeing Dr Folmar for my second visit. I saw these reviews and had to download Yelp because I couldn't handle the injustice to this man! I was taken in very promptly upon my arrival he listened to what I had to say and addressed things I had to say! He ordered a CT scan and esophagram which I just had on Monday and in speaking with them yesterday they got me an appointment for today! I was quite surprised because I did have to wait a month and a half for my first appointment- unfortunately that's the medical system! Yes he is an older gentleman but so is the dermatologist I'm seeing and that means they're seasoned and they've seen it all! I'd much rather have an older Dr then a younger one that is fresh out of medical school and doesn't know what he's doing! My name is Patricia Miller and I am an experienced patient! My appointment was at 2pm I arrived at 1:45 with a disk they requested and I get here with my son's insurance information, referral and disk now they're asking for the results and mind you I called 3 weeks in advance to schedule this consultation and they did not ask me to bring in results (no one knows what the mass in his throat is). But that's not the point... the girls in the front desk are so rude made me feel uncomfortable, I was starting to take it personally up until the phone started ringing and realized they don't answer their phone calls and when they do they have such a crappy attitude lol... they had Hotel California playing so they deserve 2 stars and their decor looked like from the early 90's so I wasn't too mad! read more

I can't believe how this doctors office is operating! "Joanne" the manager of this doctors office had such a condescending and arrogant attitude for someone working as a office manager. I called this office to make an appointment, and was greeted by the receptionist with the nastiest attitude named "Diana". She asked me for my insurance information and told me that they can't review my referrals online, and that she couldn't find my referral. I told her that I had made an appointment with them previously so they must have had my referral information. I asked to speak to her manager, and Joanne the "manager" picked up with a nastier attitude stating that she heard the conversation that I had with Diana. I told her that they had my referral from my insurance company because I made an appointment with them previously, but didn't make it to the appointment. She told me that she'll go look for my referral, and with dedication, she found the referral. I told her to lose her nasty attitude or I'll let the doctor know how they're operating his business, and that I will post reviews about their office if she doesn't act right, and she told me to stop threatening her. Do you not see everyone on Yelp complaining about your behavior? She changes her tone after I threaten her about whats to come to her, and makes an appointment for me. An hour later, Joanne calls me back and tells me that she has changed my referral to another doctor, and to write down this doctors information. I asked to speak to Dr. Folmar, and she states that hes busy, and hung up on me. I called my insurance company, and they told me that Joanne called them and told them that I was being rude, and that I missed an appointment with them. I will make sure Dr. Folmar knows that this has happened, and if he knows that this has happened and is enabling this type of behavior, its a shame. I hope they go out of business. I haven't even met this doctor, yet, an office manager has the ability to change my referral? Is this even legal? read more

WORST Doctor's office ever! Had to take my son to get his tonsils and adenoids checked. First time I went, the wait was okay but the lady at the desk with glasses and medium brown hair was extremely rude and had a big attitude problem, prob the worst I've ever seen. The second time I was there, my son was getting uneasy and wanted to see the doctor right away and that same lady with the glasses kept giving me bad looks and shaking her head! That day I waited 1 hr and 20 min!! The doctor is too old and needs to retire, all he wanted to do was give another round of antibiotics to my son?? No thanks! Older Doctor felt like I should walk him down the hallway so nothing happened to him. He was patient and nice to me. Didn't tell me anything different. My appt was at 3:30, I was put in a room at 4:40. If you have time to wait Dr. Folmar is a very nice Dr. That takes his time with his patients. The appointments should be scheduled every 45 minutes to an hour, not every 15 minutes. read more

My mother in-law has had this Dr. for her hearing for a few years. They are not kind at the front office and they had my mother waiting for over 1 1/2 hrs after her appointment time and told me it would be 2 hrs before they could see her do 7pm at night. This is unacceptable and is not where I would want a 86 year old to have to wait and hungry for her dinner. read more

I agree with Patricia M. My experience with Dr. Folmar was great! I admit we were waiting a little bit, and by little bit I mean 40 minutes which really isn't THAT bad. But Dr Folmar actually sat down with me and went over my CT scan images with me which is something my last ENT couldn't be bothered with. He listened to me, answered my questions, and seemed to actually care which is hard to find in many doctors nowadays. Yes he is older but again, he is experienced! I will say I did dislike that I had to get an appointment 2 months from when I called, but the sad reality is that most specialists are booked like this.
