Seeing Dr. Quoc Nguyen ended up being a complete waste of time for me, and that is not something I say lightly. I had to see him twice for the exact same issue, and during the second visit it became clear that he did not remember seeing me before. I was asked the same questions all over again, as if the first appointment had never happened. What made it worse was that he ordered multiple labs during the first visit, only to request many of the same tests again later. It felt disorganized and repetitive, and ultimately unnecessary. To be fair, Dr. Nguyen himself is pleasant and polite. He comes across as calm and agreeable, and I don't think his intentions are bad. The problem is that being nice does not make up for a lack of continuity or attention to a patient's history. I left both appointments feeling like nothing had actually moved forward. The staff, unfortunately, made the experience significantly worse. They were rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, which added frustration to an already inefficient process. Basic questions were met with attitude, and it felt like an inconvenience to them just to be there. That alone would make me think twice about returning. ENTs are not always easy to find, especially ones with availability, but this is not a practice I would recommend investing your time in. Between repeat visits, duplicated labs, lack of familiarity with my case, and an unprofessional front office, the experience simply was not worth it. I was a patient here between 2022-2023 and had 4 appointments. First red flag: you would be attended between 45 mins - 1 hour after your scheduled appointment time. On top of that, during the appointment, the doctor would rush me and say that we would address my concerns at the following appointment. It is one thing to be consistently late to attending your patients, and another to on top of that, place the time disruptment on their own appointment, when it it's a time management issue that is the fault of the office, and the doctor as well. I've seen previous reviews mentioning this same issue where the DR has addressed this and said it was the front desk's issue, however, he is the owner of the business, so he has direct control over his employees. My next issue is with the medical care. I had gone here 4 times and each time I was prescribed an over the counter medication and told that I would be seen at the next appointment. I would like to note the majority of the patients here are on Medi-Cal. Interpret that as you will. When I addressed these concerns to the doctor, and expressed that I was a patient with concern over their own health and would like if there could be something done other than prescribe OTC medication for the 4th time, the DR became very defensive and hostile. He began to talk about how he is the one in control, and he then went to list his work and educational experience that made him qualified. He then said to look for a different doctor if I was unhappy with his treatment. I was seeking solutions to a serious health issue, and rather than solve the problem with empathy and open mindedness, I was met with a very insecure and defensive response on behalf of the doctor. It was very strange. Go somewhere else. In my opinion you will not get proper care here and patients are seen as insurance cash cows. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had at a doctor's office! The lack of manners and just plain empathy for my 80 y/o mother was horrible to experience. Long story short, my mother had an appointment at 10:30, we were there by 10:20, however, after waiting until 11:45 to be seen by the doctor I approached Dr. Nguyen and he stated my mom's medical records were not in office yet. I asked why he didn't let me know so we could reschedule the appointment to which he replied "it's not my problem, it's my front-office's problem". He had a condescending attitude and seemed to care very little that he wasted my mom's time or that she wasn't feeling well. As a medical provider you would think patient's come first but this doctor clearly missed patient care training in school. His staff was quick to apologize for him and say he's always like that. I have been seeing Dr Nguyen since 2010, before he moved to the Brookhurst office. The Dr is okay, but the boys at the front desk seem don't care about their work. If you call, they said the dr will call back. Never got the return call. I had a bad hurting ear this morning and had to walk in. They had me waitted for 2.5 hours . The Dr only saw me for 5 minutes and gave OTC. They did not let me know how long i should wait, just said long.. If i had known that I had to wait until they are done with all the appointment patients, i would go to urgent care or other office. If the dr cares about his business and his patients, he definitely needs more competent and professional front desk. I guess those boys are his familly or relatives read more

I can't even believe how this doctor runs his practices. I received a call last week that my referral was approved and I can come in as a walk in same day. The lady that called said "be prepared to wait". I informed her that I really can't just wait until he happens to have time to see me as I will have my 4 children with me (1,5, 4, 13 and 14). I mentioned that I don't live local and I'd still have to do that drive back in traffic and it wouldn't work. I asked for next available appt which she said was end of June. I said it's not possible to wait that long as I have a perforated ear drum. Fast forward I called back to try to arrange a walk in when I know my husband could stay with my kids (so I'd be able to wait). I ended up getting an appointment at 9:30 for Monday, booked the appointment on friday . Perfect. I asked the lady to verify that my referral was sent to them as another office called me stating I was approved to see them (just verifying so I don't get charged for an out of network appointment). She said she'd call back when the other lady comes in at 1:30 and I never received a call. I called back Friday at 3:25 and no one answered as the office closed at 3:30. I get a call today (Saturday to verify) and I did mention the reviews and complaints of other patients and just wanted to make sure that my concerns would be heard and I'd get the quality patient care that is the standard. I've worked in the health field a long time both hospitals and Dr offices and I've seen how patients get treated. I've had to advocate for my health as a patient and luckily I know how to speak up for myself and I made that clear. Now I get a call that the doctor thinks it would be best that I find another doctor because "I threatened to walk out if I had to wait too long", which isn't what I said at all. Then she puts me on hold while she clarifies it with the doctor and he thinks "it's best for both parties that I get referred elsewhere" . What a joke. Don't even waste your time here. I made it clear that my concerns would be heard and I was not going to be rushed out of my appointment and basically blown off. And clearly this doctor can't handle a person that they can't have control over. Read all the 1 stars and do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I'm not the client , i took my dad to check up here for the first time. I can't believe that the doctor hired uneducated employees. They're not respectful to clients. They called everybody names like uncle or auntie, not following last or first name. Event when i want to make the next appointment, the girl just asked "what day?" Horrible place on my first visit they could have told me what I needed to bring they didn't even bother on telling me. So when I had my first appointment the doctor saw me for about 5 minutes if anything then tells me he needed to see my results very upset. Then on my second appointment when I brought in my CD with my CT and MRI results I didn't even get to see him because they said I needed to bring in my results in paper. I had two appointments here. First one I waited about 30 after my appointment started even though I was 15-min early. Second appointment I had to wait an hour even though I was 10-min early. What was unprofessional about this doctor was the lack of an apology for his delay, which highlights the lack of his professionalism, integrity, and awareness. Additionally, I had to step out to take a call once I hit the 30-min mark of waiting. I let the front desk know I was stepping outside for a call in case I was called on; they relayed to me I was behind one patient. Patients that came in after me were either being sent back or leaving from either being seen before me or tired of waiting (reminder: I was 10-min early to this appointment). My appointment was to go over results which took between 5-10min, certainly closer to the 5-min mark. read more

First things first, What made me upset everytime is they would have multiple bookings of appointment at the same time when there is only one doctor. For example, if you have an appointment at 3 PM, there's 2 more people at 3 PM appointment along with you. They just try to squeeze in as many appointments as they can and once you meet the doctor, he tries to rush things and tell you to come back for another appointment. I had and have deviated septum. Doctor just says "How's your nose?" and I explain to him how I still have a difficult time breathing, and he says just keep using Flonase. I ended up getting septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery, and the process was a pain. Surgery itself wasn't painful but the recovery was really inconvenient. After surgery, inside of my nose was super dry and he kept insisting to do nasal irrigation and Flonase. Goodness, I think from long-term use, it is starting to have an adverse effect where I officially feel more congested and nose is dried. I stopped going to this doctor because it's an endless cycle of him telling me to use Flonase and make a followup appointment to just tell me to use Flonase. I recently had a CT scan and found out that my nose was still deviated, and I have no idea what the doctor did for the surgery. He insists that my septum was straight but I guess that was a lie. He just wants to book as many appointments, and he does not know how to run a business nor he's professional. His average yelp review shows it all. read more

I saw this doctor for thyroid issue, his front office has not been trained properly by him. They look like a bunch of high school kids dressed unprofessionally in there street clothes, one guy was wearing flip flops. The doctor is not at all personable nor compassionate toward patients. He treats patients as $ signs. He sees a lot of elderly with medical and they don't speak up against him cause they think he's a doctor. Looks like the guy has an ego trip. He doesn't believe nor would take time to call patients per his office staff. He wants patients to return just for blood results so he can charge more office visits. Dr. Nguyen is the best! My wife had a severe ear infection and on top of that she is still breastfeeding our son. She has been in agonizing pain since she first got it. I looked up Dr. Nguyen and thank goodness he was open on Saturday! We did a walk in and he knew the issue right away he was very compassionate and understanding answering every question and never was annoyed or bother by the number of questions we had. The whole time he kept telling us all will be on and we will get you better and back to normal fast! He too the time needed and really could tell he genuinely cared about my wife's well being. The staff are all young and speak English & are all pretty friendly. The doctor was great! He answered all my questions and was very nice. Very rude and cruel "dr". My grandmother who is Spanish speaking only was referred to this office by her insurance. They have no available translators for any other language other than Vietnamese and English. When my grandmother called me to speak to Dr. NGUYEN he right off the bat started raising his voice telling me "you're here to translate so tell her!" When I was trying to get all the information as my grandmother suffers from a lot of things and can't process things at times. He then started yelling once I told him "can you just tell me everything so I can relay the information once we are done talking?" He decided to hang up on me. Mind you he had hung up on me upon her 1st visit as well for no reason. I was in mid conversation when he hung up on me. My grandmother called me back saying "weren't you talking to him?". Very unprofessional establishment. I do not recommend. Please make sure to read up on who you're trusting with your health needs. To also add onto this he decided to kick out my 74 y/o grandmother. I can't say enough good things about the doctor, staff and facility. I was apprehensive when seeing the other reviews, but I'm glad I went. The staff is friendly, and the practice is busy. That's a good sign, they are busy for a reason. I never felt rushed. The office is large, clean and very nice. Dr Nguyen was very sweet and personable. Kind but very professional and informative, asks many questions to figure out what's going on instead of most places who rely on you to ramble off your symptoms.There is some old equipment as mentioned in previous complaint reviews, but it's probably quite expensive and "they don't make em like they used to" is a very true expression. The rooms are mostly full of computers and high tech machines. read more

WORTHLESS. Went there twice complaining of severe chronic sinus issues...although fluctuating....informed me that I have a significant deviated septum..okay....but NO suggestions to resolve this...surgery etc....downplayed and left me hanging. Went second time and observed majorly inflamed sinus cavity...but no real suggestions (once again) or why I would have that!..."try some Ibuprofen"...bye bye" Also stated sinus issues cannot affect daily cognitive functions - when in reality they are known to cause mental fatigue. Truly got impression to give minimal effort to help and drag on into as many appointment$ as possible. Just got MRI brain scan and even though sinuses weren't acting up at time the radiologist noted that the MRI showed I have both Ethmoid sinusitis and Rhinitis! And this was for brain scan not sinuses and he observed this it was SO BAD. So I guess I'm not just some whiner hypochondriac after all..... read more

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. All he cares about is money. I had severe nasal congestion. Visited his office three times. Lied multiply times about what he said he was going to do the next visit. Lied about what he said about the past visits. Kept stringing me along for more money. $80 for each visit and did nothing, but prescribe me the same pills that did absolutely nothing. Kept on making excuses on why he could not do anything else and yet he kept taking my money. I went to a real ENT that gave me a shot and different pills which fixed my congestion in a few days. My right ear was hurting so I wanted to be seen by an ENT didn't think much of it, saw that this one was somewhat close by and had good reviews. So I made an appointment, even on the phone they asked me about 3 times if I was using insurance or paying cash, I said insurance and they said okay. I showed up early for my appointment and gave them my ID and insurance card. An older Vietnamese receptionist came out and said she thought I was paying in cash, I was like nope I clearly told you guys on the phone I'm using insurance and you guys are in my network. She then looked displeased, it was about 3:25 pm she goes "but I thought you're paying cash" at this point I was like WTH? and was like "okay again no I'm not, is there a problem with me using insurance?" She goes but the insurance company is close now if I call. I was like "no its only 3pm I think you're okay". They made me wait until she calls the insurance company. Then had me go into one of the waiting rooms by now its about 4 pm. They sent a young receptionist in and told me I should pay cash it will be cheaper. I'm like no its fine just bill my insurance company. She leaves, then comes back in said "you have to pay before the doctor sees you" so now I'm mad. I asked her what's going on? Why am I being harassed like this? I wanted to leave I should've left, but I already wasted leaving work early for this mess. She left and then came back and was like "I'm so sorry I don't know why they're doing this but they want you to pay cash". So I told her "okay you guys are harassing me and I don't feel comfortable here," I was about to leave then the doctor comes in. He's an older OG Vietnamese doctor, I was expecting an Americanized doctor, this explain the shady practice. He has old school equipments and wasn't cleaning my ears with proper tools. He poked around my ears and said he can only clean it 30% and I need a second visit to clean the rest, again he said "I can give you a discount on the second visit if you pay cash" WTF. I said "no its fine just use my insurance" he goes "don't be surprise if the billing on your insurance says surgery on it" I was like ummm this is surgery?? You cleaned my ear. He was like even if I put a light in your nose its coded as surgery. Wowwww. So now I know I'm screwed and its too late to do anything, these crooks got me! I went out to and they said I had 2 choices a) pay cash $150 b) use my insurance and pay $250. I was like wtf? you have to bill my insurance, they said no we bill after but you pay now, whatever adjustments will be made after. I wish I could've called the cops or someone on them, pure harassment and they basically forced me to pay cash. Clearly there will never be a second appointment here and I wish there's a way for me to report them, the most shady establishment I've ever encountered.
