I bought an item online, They canceled order without any explanation. Granted the item was likely marked wrong. I called politely at first to get an explanation or offered to buy it beside. I already paid what they had listed online plus shipping and they were dismissive and rude. I've checked my accounts and they have made no attempt to initiate a refund yet, but they were very quick to cancel the order. We had taken a ring worth $900 to be appraised at Folmar's gun and pawn in Tallahassee Florida on April 1, 2023. First, we waited nearly 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Then, once we were acknowledged and the so-called appraiser calculated the worst of the ring, which took about 35 seconds, he stated that there were no defects in the diamond and that he would have to base the price on the raw materials of the ring itself. Lastly, the end result was he appraised the ring at $80. This is a young kid who obviously was out to rip off anyone coming through the door and also giving a lowball price of $100 to a lady that had a ring worth 1500. I had a diamond bracelet that I never wore anymore. A few years ago I brought it to another pawn shop in town, and they offered me significantly less than half of what I paid for it. I thought I was stuck with it sitting in my jewelry box collecting dust. A friend recommended I take it to Folmar's because they are fair, and would be honest with me about what it was worth. I brought it in, and they offered more than twice what the other pawn shop offered me! I desperately needed a laptop, and they had a huge selection of laptops. They helped me pick out a nearly new laptop, and I walked out with MORE cash in my pocket than the other pawn shop offered me for the bracelet alone. I couldn't be happier with the service and overall experience I had at Folmar's. I'm so glad I didn't sell that bracelet to the other shop, and now I can write this review on my new laptop.
