If I could give more than five stars I would! I have been seeing Dr Pan for over three years and not because it's not working but because it IS !!! I feared needles and hesitated to try this but my PC suggested it after traditional Physical Therapy no longer seem to help me. I have low back pain and numbness down my legs into my feet and after a treatment I honestly can feel my feet again! If you have never tried acupuncture or fear needles you really should see Dr Pan as she is very caring and reassuring and there really isn't any pain at all. I am very impressed with accupuncture in general! I could not believe how quickly I could notice a difference in my shoulder. I am absolutely 100% a believer! The only thing I am a little upset about is how they work with insurance. When i scheduled my appointment I was not told that they would only be able to focus on on area, and not even "shoulders", i had to pick Oshoulder. Because I had insurance they treated me a little poorly because I was not paying full price. I did not like that. read more

I'm 58, male, in excellent health, systems administrator. Two years ago, I injured myself weight lifting, horrible sciatica pain from my left butt down the back of the same leg. Slowly improved after 6 months, but pain still there, especially at night and during sleep, got a prescription for Tramadol, helped slightly, but tired of taking it and enduring the remaining pain that still existed. Physical Therapy didn't help, stretching and inversion didn't help as well. Decided to try acupuncture with Dr Karen Pan, started Oct 13, 2014 3x a week. Noticed a difference that night after the first session. After the second session, nearly no pain at night during sleep. Added the massage therapy they provide prior to my session, I'd recommend that as well. No more sciatica pain after just one week, incredible. The results after just three sessions make me wish I tried this a year ago. No more pain in the afternoon and at night. No more shooting pain down my leg while turning in my sleep. No pain getting into and out of the car. No longer taking Tramadol. Update: 5+ months after last treatment, no sciatica pain at all. I have been suffering for almost 4 months with a pinched nerve and terrible back pain. My doctors wanted to pump me full of drugs and nothing changed. I was referred to Dr. Pan from a close friend and my life is now back to normal. My very first visit I felt immediately 100% better. It was amazing and I am now a huge fan of acupuncture. I have injured myself in the past and a few years ago threw out my back. Every now and then it will tighten (mid to low back) and spasm from time to time. I sought the services of Dr. Pan when my traditional doctor and physical therapy were doing absolutely nothing for my frozen shoulder, and basically told me that it will take a year or more for it to get better, so live with it. Acupuncture is amazing -- almost like magic. In Dr. Pan's initial exam of the muscles throughout my shoulder, neck and arm, I could hardly stand the pain when she pressed on the muscles. After the treatment, the pain just "ceased to be." I go to Folsom Chinese Acupuncture regularly (about every 1.5 weeks). I see acupuncturist Karen Pan. She treats my lower back, sciatic nerve, occipital neuritis (back of head), and shoulder blades. I have been struggling with chronic upper back and neck pain for the last two years or so. Lifting and climbing regularly didn't help the condition. After trying physiotherapy (10 sessions) and other strengthening exercises, I was still struggling with the pain. Alas, I stumbled upon the Folsom Chinese Accupunture center online when I was actually looking for "cupping therapy". I hadn't done much research and went in without knowing much about accupunture. After four sessions, I feel much better already and the worst knots on my upper back and neck are much less stiff now. The blood circulation has improved a lot and I am planning to get more sessions with them in the future. Dr. Pan is very good in understanding the issue and addressing it. She is also very gentle with the procedure and I didn't feel any pain during the whole treatment. She was very considerate with my schedule ( I went to her one week before leaving on a backcountry trip to Alaska) and she accommodated five sessions in a very short notice and helped relieve most of my pain before the trip. Last month I fell on a concrete sidewalk. My chin hit the ground pretty hard. The left side of my jaw was dislocated a little bit. It was difficult for me to open my mouth and bite food. I went to see my primary care physician, he prescribed 600 mg Ibuprofen, three times a day . It was a big bottle of 120 pills of Ibuprofen! I took one, then I started thinking about the associated risk of taking Ibuprofen (Ibuprofen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses). I decided to live with my jaw pain for the next several months until it healed itself. Since the fall also aggravated my shoulder pain, I decided to go to Folsom Chinese Acupuncture Center to get treatment. When I told Karen about my falling-down, my jaw hurting and I couldn't eat solid food, she started to stick some needles around my jaw. Incredibly, that evening I could chew soft food again! I went to get another treatment on the following day. My jaw pain disappeared completely! It only took two acupuncture treatments to remove my jaw pain! And I didn't have to risk my health with pain-relievers! Now I go to Dr. Karen Pan three times a week to get my shoulder and lower-back problems treated. In the last 20 years, I have accumulated quite a lot of shoulder and lower-back pain. Karen told me it will take awhile to treat those problems. I trust her completely with my treatment plan.
