The space is bright, organized, and thoughtfully designed and every section feels purposeful, from the cozy reading nooks to the tech-friendly study tables. One thing that I find here that is truly awesome is their bookstore. For me, I've bought several books here that I used for scraping in my travels and I absolutely love coming here to buy books for cheap that I will just end up scrapping. You'll find most books are no more than one dollar and amongst all the local public library bookstores that are offered, I have found this one, the largest and the cheap cheapest. Love it! Just be mindful, they only accept cash when making payments. In addition, you can print things out, but you will have to pay using cash only. The library also offers great programs with creative workshops that make it more than just a place for books, but a true community hub. You can find a monthly calendar located inside of different events that are ongoing. Parking can be very hard here when busy. I haven't figured out why they haven't opened the parking structure that's adjacent to it. It's been sitting empty for a months now. I always dread when I'm gonna be going to the library because parking is very hard here so just be prepared spaces are limited. It's one of those rare places where you can slow down, think clearly, and leave feeling just a little bit better than when you walked in. Bathrooms super clean!

My experience with Family Court mediation was very disappointing. The mediators came across as…read morebiased and seemed to favor the party who filed the case rather than remaining neutral and considering both sides equally. Instead of creating a fair environment where each parent could fully explain their concerns, I felt dismissed and unheard. The attitude of some of the mediation staff was also unprofessional. They were often rude, condescending, and made comments that came across as sarcastic rather than respectful. Mediation is supposed to help families work toward solutions, but it is difficult to have confidence in the process when one party feels judged from the beginning. I believe mediators should remain impartial, treat both parties with respect, and base their recommendations on the facts presented--not on who filed the case first. Families deserve a fair, unbiased process, especially when decisions involving children are being made.

I respect my civic duty and acknowledge that the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse is probably a less…read morestressful experience than other courthouses, but the experience still had major room for improvement. There are so many inefficiencies in the system. I don't think the government system takes feedback or makes process improvements, but hopefully this review helps someone with their Jury Duty experience. At this courthouse, you receive a summons and you actually have to CALL 5pm the day prior to check if you need to physically come in. Considering they made me go online and fill in all this stuff, why can't I check some status online? If you have to report in person, the dress code is business casual. Although I feel like a lot of people were way more casual casual and they weren't sent home to change like the threat on the phone. In the room where the potential jurors meet, we were told to listen to a video but the TVs were unevenly distributed and the audio was awful. Then when we were suppose to find ourselves on these lists, the names were written in a thin white font that was hard to read. A lot of do this and wait, do this and wait. During one of my breaks I went to the restroom on first floor and it really needs renovations. No automated/sensors. In the women's bathroom on 1st 2 out of 4 sinks were broken. Then I made the mistake of getting a snack at the café inside the courthouse. Since they have no competition and they're the only option, they get to be slow inefficient and burn your food... in my case burnt my food twice. It was also so hectic as they didn't take names down, they just called out the type of order, so if multiple people ordered the same thing they all go up and look confused. I waited for ever for them to call me back saying they forgot what I ordered... Then it was burnt. I came back... They remade it... Burnt again. Pointless. I didn't have time to deal with them a third time. On a more positive note, this is the furthest I made it along in the jury selection process. I won't give any detail to maintain the confidentiality but I can say they ask questions to make sure there are no conflict of interest or strong biases that would negatively affect either parties. It was nice to see the justice system at work. Obviously the Jury Duty experience is a civic duty, but the courthouse really need some renovations to make the jury experience less awful.

Arrived at 8am to a long line outside. Went through security waited in another line inside. Finally 40 min in reach the checkin desk to he told my case was settled and therefore I wasn't needed. This is a big and beautiful convenient library with lovely staff and a safe and quiet ambiance…read more First and foremost, I want to thank the ladies inside at the information and help desk who were so kind, silent and solid, patient and had a great sense of humor. They assisted me with getting my official library card and went the extra mile in getting me a Cantonese language guide that was not on the shelf or checked out. It took them just 4 minutes to go in the bank and locate it. The library is clean and has a lot of sunlight coming in. They have a good variety of books. The patrons at this location seemed respectful and followed the rules. Loved the little Friends of the Library bookstore to the left upon entry that sells vinyls, DVDs and books to support the library. Love the indoor and outdoor parking. Love that the Starbucks is within walking distance as are some lovely restaurants and stores in Victoria Gardens. Loved this Library!!!!!

There's also a DVD section to check out disc and there are also private study rooms. I believe I saw like 3 or 4 rooms. I thought the rooms were pretty cool, since the library isn't always as quiet as you'd like it to be. Getting a card is pretty simple....just present proof of residency in the city and you'll have a card.

It has been a couple years now since household hazardous waste collection has moved into the new…read morePublic Works center on Lion and even though the old location was much closer to my house, this new facility is much better for everyone involved - volunteers and residents alike. A lot of cities in the IE have hazardous waste collection only once a month, or even once a quarter, but we are fortunate in Rancho to have collection every Saturday from 8am to noon (minus Saturdays of a holiday weekend). They take a wide variety of hazardous waste including electronics waste including monitors and TVs, pesticides, chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, motor oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid, paint, and more. Their website says they don't take tires or medical waste/sharps (though all RC fire stations have free medical sharps collection). This new location is in a permanent building, instead of sealand containers, and has a huge covered portico to keep it shady in the summer and dry in the winter. Everything is always well organized to get in and out fast. You may need to provide proof of residency, I usually have my water or trash bill with me that shows the address, just in case. Located on 9th Street between Hellman and Vineyard, you go south on Lion St. until it dead ends at their building. You go into their driveway and follow the path to left which will ultimately lead you to the drop off point. You fill out the paperwork, and the guys will unload your items. I have dropped off old batteries, monitors and other electronic devices. The city has made hazardous waste disposal a no-brainer. Great job, Rancho!

Now that I'm older it feels smaller but it has plenty of space for studying and just getting away from your family when you're visiting from out of town during the holidays and getting work done. It's a great 3rd space that's not a coffee shop. I visited this location on the weekend and I was able to concentrate and get work done at one of the cubicle desks. There were outlets in each one so I had plenty of places to charge all my electronics. The area I was in was very quiet so it was ideal for concentration. I recently worked out of the Ontario library and while that one is bigger, it's more crowded and not as clean as the Rancho library. I would definitely recommend this space for studying and it's great for young kids as they always have events going on here throughout the month!
