This dog park is big , has ample spaces for big dogs to roam and run free off leash . The parking is shared with the Fontana community center . The dog park is situated more in the back where the skate ring dome structure is located. I observed many pet and their parents here during the evening and weekends. Best time to come here for smaller dogs are early mornings on the weekdays . First visit at this cute park right near my house! We just finished all the puppies vaccinations so she can go out and play in public. Lots of grass plus areas of dirt for digging. Plenty of seating areas and water fountain for pups and people. Provided poop bags and tools for clean up was really nice. Only downside is people who don't clean up after their dogs in spite of the readily available cleaning tools and bags. Very disappointing. We will still be back because my baby had a really good time. Thanks Fontana for nice park. read more

Very beautiful park! There are 2 separate dog areas, 1 large and 1 small. Both areas are very well taken care of. Both areas have water fountains with spouts near the ground for smaller dogs to drink water from. 2 separate security gates are in place to safely enter and exit without any hassle as well as bags for scooping up after your dog. read more

Not a fan. There is so much room for a quality dog park, yet it's just a fenced in tiny portion.

This is a decent dog park with two separate areas (Big dogs / Small Dogs). however, just like any other dog park, some of the people there have no clue when it comes to proper etiquette with their animals. I. e. Allowing their large dogs to pretty much maul the smaller ones. Personally, (and Im sure some would disagree), I don't feel that some of the more aggressive dog breeds should be allowed there (for obvious reasons). Also, I'm writing this review as of July 8, 2023 and the dog park has been "temporarily closed" for the better part of a month now. it appears that the reason was so that they could replant grass. From what I can tell, the grass has pretty much filled in as of the last week or so. I'm not quite sure what they are waiting on at this point. Also, the section I use (for smaller dogs), doesn't even have grass (all dirt) so I'm a bit perplexed as to why this section was closed in the first place. The reason that I gave the park 4 stars vs 3, is because of its location and close proximity to my humble abode. read more

Was heading down to Long Beach with the dogs but there was too much traffic, so we decided to stop somewhere for them to stretch their little legs. Found the Fontana Dog Park. The area surrounding and the park was surprisingly nice. Now I know that I can bring my beach cruisers and ride around too! The only down side was that the Small Dog side is ridiculously tiny with no grass. There's so much open field, I don't know why they couldn't make it the same size as the Big Dog side. Oh! One more thing, there was alot of cars cruising around the parking lot really slow...kinda creepy. read more

This place is amazing! It always has a nice calm feeling to go for a walk or a run.. I love taking my kidss here to go for a ride on the scooters. In the summer its a great place to go to and spend some time with the kids to get a nice little work out!! read more

This was the first dog park that I brought my dog too after being fully vaccinated. He was nervous at first but soon gained some confidence and made some friends. It's a decent dog park but be mindful that they are bees present. Unfortunately my dog was stung but I was able to quickly rush him to the vet. read more

5FYB170 Nissan Armada That is the vehicle to avoid because the owner has an EXTREMELY aggressive PITBULL who we witnessed take a small shihtzu by his teeth, shook it like a doll and bit into his poor eye. The poor dog was limp and bleeding in the arms of it's owner, a crying little girl who thought her dog died. The owner took a delayed reaction and did NOTHING until bystanders including myself yelled and clapped for reprimand. The owners a hefty man with shaggy hair and his wife were docile! IF you see them anywhere in the dog park areas LEAVE! Luckily we moved to the smaller enclosed area and were separated from the horrific incident and left soon after they did. About the park? Windy area in north Fontana in the new recreation park with wide open spaces. However the dog park itself is on the small side and right underneath electric lines. Smaller than Etiwanda and Upland parks. There is only one main area and one smaller area for pups. A couple of trash bins and a water fountain. So it's descent. I'd just watch out for aggressive visitors as always with any dog park. read more

After trying multiple times to like this park nearby our house, we gave up on it due to the bad mix of owners, dogs, and small spaces that almost always seemed to lead to trouble. I'll only bring the dogs here when I know it'll be virtually dead and they can just run around for a bit. On top of all the other issues below, it is really small and doesn't offer much interest for dogs (or people) or any shade for some relief on hot days. Now, I'll be the first to admit that my dogs sometimes can have some issues and be aggressive, but there always seemed to be other dogs with a similar or most of the times worse disposition that only made matters worse. There always seems to be a pitbull, rottweiller, or other large aggressive bread that is not well tempered and the owner doesn't do much about by monitoring them or disciplining them. A few times there were people that kept their dogs on leashes while in the park, when it clearly says on the rules that your dog must be off the leash. My dogs (and I'm sure most others) find this as a reason to try and play with a dog and when that dog can't get away from them to avoid them or to play back, it leads to problems. Which leads me to the problems with the owners... So many people I've seen here are totally oblivious to the fact that their dog is not properly socialized or just overly aggressive and cannot play nice with other dogs. When I know my dog is being an a-hole, I take them home, not leave them there at the park just to cause problems. It's unfortunate, since there are a lot of nice people that do come here and are responsible with their dogs. read more

We took our 2 GSD puppies for the 1st time yesterday. Needless to say it took some time to get them adjusted to it. They were scared and not sure how to play with the dogs but the park is set up great with 2 gated hold areas for the dogs to get acclimated to what is going on before you let them in. The area to run around and play was nice, securely gated, with plenty of room for the shy dogs who wanted to hide. The people who brought dogs were nice and very understanding of our shy barking puppies. Everyone got along well at one point about 15 dogs were there and it was great seeing them all social and happy. Will be taking they weekly! read more

Nice dog park with plush grass, plenty of seating, and some obstacles in the big dog area. Just took a star off for cleanliness. The trash is over flowing, there are no doggie bags, and poop everywhere that hasn't been picked up. Looks like they haven't come to check on it in a while. read more

Great park for dogs. I live in south Fontana with a lot of low lives and feel better and safe in north Fontana more educated people out here. It would be nice if all of Fontana was like the summit park. People who have bad reviews should come to my park in south ridge where all the gang members hang out and cause trouble then they will think twice about giving this park bad reviews. read more

I like this dog park. The people and other dogs are usually friendly. There are shovels to pick up poo and a water fountain. My Boxers really enjoy themselves here. There is no shade though and it's very small. If you have an aggresive or unsocialized dog then don't bother bringing it to a dog park! It's that simple! read more

I live close to this dog park and decided to take my pups to play. We got here and there was no one else there. The grass was all brown and patchy with dirt. There was little to no shade. I expected it to be bigger considering the green belt is right next to it but it is quite small for where it's located. We didn't stay long. I was a little disappointed. read more

This Dog Park is very small with NO trees for shade so hot days are really bad and not enough benches for owners to sit on, there are also a lot of deep holes in the grass so it can be dangerous as well. read more

This is place is not great. It's basically just a big empty space that is fenced in far away from everything else. There are absolutely no trees so there is no shade at all but just outside the fences are 4 or 5 trees just taunting you. Every time I've come there have been no other dogs. Also the only water is a big bucket that they only allow you to fill up half way. If your dog is short or has a small neck they'll never be able to get their own water so make sure to bring your own container. read more

My husband and I usually take our two spayed female Siberian Huskies to the Fontana Dog Park 4 or 5 evenings a week. We are retired and could go anytime of day but prefer a time of day when it's cooler. During fall/winter we'll take them in the morning and see if playmates show up. Lots of grass, room to run,seperate areas for small dogs, benches for people to sit on. There are several jumps and training stands. We have been there MANY times and have never seen an owner who did not clean up after their pup. Park provides several poop bag racks, several rake and shovel sets and a human/dog combo drinking water fountain. (Humans drink from upper faucet and canines drink from the one mounted at their level). We have been to some dog parks where you had to get a bucket and fill it (sometimes lugging it some distance) to give your dogs a drink. This park's water is a drinking fountain style with a metal bowl base so they can drink from the bowl or faucet. We run into a lot of the same folks regularly at this park. They are all interested in talking about dogs. Have only had two instances where people brought dogs that were VERY aggressive and the owners could not control their dogs...one rottweiler and one pitbull. PLEASE people, if you cannot control your animal...get obedience training or only take it to a park that is unoccupied at that time! Just as an aside: It will be more helpful to those reading your review if you review the facility NOT people or the animals...you'll find idiots just about everywhere. read more
