I can honestly say it's one of the best places in the area! The store is always clean, well-organized, and stocked with fresh produce and quality grocery items. The staffs are friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. I really appreciate the variety of local products they offer, and the prices are fair for the quality you get. This is a 1.5 star review generously being rounded up to 2. I haven't been to this Food Bazaar in years for two reasons. First mainly because there are so many other places I can go that are close to where I live or near where I work with better prices and fresh products and second because on my last visit, my mom purchased turkey wings and they were freezer burned and they gave her a huge problem returning them at that time. Fast forward to my recent visit, a friend of mine was going and I decided to accompany her and also check out the cereal prices while there. It looks like they have some better items on display and more variety than before so that's good. That is the reason for earning 1.5 stars. The reason for losing four is because when going to check out we went to self checkout and the machine says you can enter your phone number. My friend never signed up so the person there said she can sign up and then use the app. I thought my mom had already signed up and I entered the telephone number. For some reason it wasn't working. So one lady came over and she spoke very little English but then called for the other lady in Spanish. The other lady came over and she knew some English but had trouble explaining. Now my Spanish isn't the best but I understand well. It's speaking that I struggle with. Because I was confused with why the number wasn't working and trying to figure out how to relay that to her, she tells the other cashier three registers over and in front of several customers that I have an attitude which was totally inaccurate and inappropriate. I then realized despite how badI may feel my Spanish is, it was time for code switching and pulled my Spanish out and asked her if she's saying that I need to have the app AND I need to also have the telephone number in order to get the savings?? THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN SHE REALIZED I UNDERSTOOD HER!!! She then proceeded to explain (in Spanish) that yes both the app and the telephone number is needed for the savings, etc. I didn't call her out on it and No apology was ever offered either. But hopefully she now knows not to judge or talk about customers especially right in front of them assuming they won't be able to comprehend. I'm not going to take away from the very few other positives the store has but I definitely won't be returning and unless having the app and fully ready to let your bilingual talents show if and when in need of assistance, I'd be wary of shopping here. read more

This review is about their Seafood Department. Food Bazaar, surprisingly, is the only supermarket within five miles of my neighborhood that offers a Seafood Department carrying a wide variety of fresh seafood daily. I was on a quest to find a worthy, local, standalone fish market, but my efforts had been futile. The local supermarkets within two miles generally only offer prepackaged, salmon filets not properly scaled. Unscaled fish becomes a messy, annoying task when having to do the job yourself. It baffled me that I just paid a premium for a piece of unscaled fish, isn't that the fishmongers job? Prepackaged? I know, I was desperate. Thank goodness it was fresh. I will say this, I will never purchase prepackaged seafood again, if I can help it. I want to be able to quality check my seafood before making any purchases, and at Food Bazaar you're able to do so. The realization that there are no local, standalone seafood markets within a relatively close proximity is stunning to me. Yet again, another missed entrepreneurial opportunity. Trust me investors, if you build it, they will come. FB offers a whole lot more than just fresh seafood. But for the sake of this review, my quest has ended with an appreciative thank you to Food Bazaar for being that one saving grace. read more

Sometimes household goods in bulk sizes as well. They stay open till about 10:30 on weekdays. Usually busy on weekends but at the right time during the day, you'll be in and out. read more

I used to like comming here, but now hell no its usless, to start off the new security is an asshole everytime i go in there it always a problem with the african security gaurd he acts like he is the owner nasty attutitude, as for the other gaurd he is a bully, and tried to step up to me like he was really going to do something, to me for what now yall need to get that right u cant have rude employes, i dont even want to step through the door, id rather go the extra few blocks to western beef at least they are professional, and have decent prices and food is fresh. The management sucks here. I always come here to do my food shopping and always get items on sale. Several time I went to get things that were on sale and were on the flyer for the week on sale, and management did not want to change the price on it. What's the point of having a flyer and don't correctly prove items?? Also afternoons are always packed and crowded, lines take forever. read more

i Am writing this review regarding the fish market at this food bazaar. There was no tongs to pick your fish.. I asked the man that was setting out the plastic trays for a tong.. he didn't understand me ..he handed me a glove in which to pick up the fish.. I said To the same man that I wanted my fish fillet , I saw.. I asked him if this was my fish , he just waved me on . Get the fish home and I am cleaning the fish I noticed that there are pieces of some fins on the fish.. then I get to the last fish and it's like the person did not finish gutting the fish. I give them 3 stars because they usually have everything I need and are very clean but a couple of times their fruit or vegetables have been bad once they are cut open! Sales usually require you to buy a certain quantity of something or spend a big amount which doesn't help me too much because I like to do small shopping trips. Overall they fit my needs. read more

Pros: Fresh produce, international options, fresh fish market, great variety of produce I always end up leaving with way more than I need, great specials and prices. Also this is a real supermarket, the size alone won't wow anyone from middle America but with real estate being so precious in NYC a supermarket of this size and selection is a real treat. Cons: Not a great selection of beers (not sure why but this is typical of this area of the Bronx) I guess living in Brooklyn for so long spoiled me. read more

I am having second thoughts about this super market . I came here to purchase two lobsters that were steamed. They only had two packages available and they were expired by three days. This place has a variety of different foods they carry..from Spanish to carribean food..they have a wide selection of meats and even a seafood section..only bad part is the workers don't speak to much English and are very rude..u can't bring any outside bags in. If I could give Food Bazaar on Bruckner Blvd in the Bronx a negative rating I would. I have seen rotting food and vegetables on sale here several times. The manager is rude and obnoxious. Ask him any question and it seems like you are annoying. This is the closest supermarket my home but even if I have to travel an hour I'll go elsewhere in the future to do my grocery shopping. Today was my worst experience with them yet. After purchasing or packaged salami and finding GREEN meat when I arrived home, I attempted to take it right back. The rude nasty manager refused even though it was obviously spoiled and inedible and never should have been on the shelf. My advice is to avoid this Food Bazaar like the plague because the food here may give you the plague. If you absolutely must shop here, check your meats and smell them even if they are in a sealed package. The lousy old and dried up fruit and vegetables will be more obvious. read more

The prices on Dairy and grocery's are good, the Deli prices on there cold cuts are the same every other supermarket does no never good deals at there Deli, I head up to BJ's deli up on Pelham Manor way better prices and fresher cold cuts. The meat here is expensive as well, I shop for my meat at Price Choice way better meat prices there. I only come here for general grocery's and some dairy, there management is Asian and they are grossly rude to customers, I asked the manager if she could help find someone to pack my bags while I put my grocery's from inside my cart onto the rolling counter top and I over heard here call me crazy to the other male Asian manager, I only spend $500 cash in her business and she gets upset if you ask for service, they almost always make you pack your own bags, put them in your shopping cart and then take them out to the parking lot and leave them by the side of the supermarket unattended while you go get your car and then all your grocery's get stolen. I go with a relative to watch my shopping cars while I'm getting my car, if you go alone be for warned of this, take someone with you. There are always long lines there and never enough cashiers for the customers base. The parking lot is big and comfortable to maneuver your vehicle in, that's a plus, plus there's always plenty of spaces to find and park your vehicle. I just don't like the management, the way they run the business is horrid, they have very poor customer service skills, treat customers rude and have expensive meat prices and Deli prices, on the plus side they have a huge seafood section with a nice size lobster tank, fresh live lobster in there, shrimps and a ton of fresh fish. I've seen better supermarkets for example Price choice, there customer service is so awesome very nice owners and managers who make you feel comfortable to shop there, not like Food Bazaar I come here to stretch my money, the economy is tight, my budget is tight and they have decent prices in certain areas, go once and judge for yourself if you would like to come back, honestly I wouldn't want to shop here but I can not find better prices any where for the food I like to buy for me and my children. read more
