We ordered food on 7-24-22 in the evening. The hot and sour soup is excellent. For about five or six dollars you can get the soup with a side order of rice and it would feel you up. The bean curd under the vegetarian section on the menu was very good. read more

We have been ordering Food King for the last few years and it was our favorite local Chinese restaurant but that has completely changed. We ordered two orders of Wor Shu Gai. These are supposed to have gravy/sauce on them and neither one did. I'm not saying they didn't have much... they literally had none. We were annoyed but figured the chicken is good and we were hungry... It's a huge inconvenience to go back to the restaurant when you're already at home sitting down for dinner. The icing on the cake as to why we will NEVER go back to Food King - we got a large wonton soup...normally delicious but it is unnerving, dangerous, and infuriating when you cut open one of the wontons and find a metal scouring wire inside. I plan on making sure to tell people to steer clear of this place. Whatever happened to bring Food King down to this level - all I can say is best of luck turning things around but I won't ever be coming back. Makes me annoyed to think I paid for this and gave a good tip too. read more

This is a "cheap" chinese joint over by Big Lots. I have found it to be clean upon each visit and the staff is always nice and helpful. The menu is fairly varied for a strip mall chinese joint. Most importantly, the food is outstanding given the price point. This is not the kind of place I would suggest for a prom date or fancy night out but it it is certainly worth hitting up and you are hankering for chinese and you are over in that area. read more

Got pork egg foo yung that was nothing even close to what it should be, dry with some odd chopped veggies -where are the bean sprouts?- little pieces of pebble hard pork and an oily gold colored 'gravy' which was on the side. This was our only go-to for Chinese Food since 2003. Something happened in 2019 to current. the food quality fell drastically, the prices increased and the food amount decreased. Food King continues to serve old, very stale Fried Rice in their Combination Dinners. The rice is inedible. It puzzles me that upon ordering, since 2019 to current, each and every order we receive has old, stale rice? It leads one to question what is the "kitchen" like and, what are the conditions leading to this? This is my second review. I'm wavering between 1 or 2 stars. I'm going with 2 bc I have only tried their food once. But once was enough. I ordered delivery, which was fine...timely and courteous. But the most important part was the food. Not good. I ordered General's chicken and it was almost all gross pieces of fatty gristle. My gf's order of teriyaki was not teriyaki, or if it was it was the worst we have ever had. I'll upload pics of it. I didn't like the rice bc it tastes very artificial. I used to go to this location a few years ago and stopped after a few bad experiences. After my usually takeout place was busy and quoted an hour for pick up (if you are from Brunswick you know which one I refer to) I decided to try Food King again. What a pleasant surprise! 15 minute pick up time, really wonderful pork egg rolls, crab Rangoon, pot stickers and soup. Really, really very good. Also we got Mongolian beef and some lo mein, but we pigged out on the apps that we had little room for the entrees. (Did taste them and they were of equal quality. Lunch tommorow!) Now, I have lived in NYC and San Francisco and I have had some wonderful Chinese food. Not exactly up to that level, but as good as I have had in in Cleveland! read more

Good Chinese food for a cheap price. The lunch special is only $5 and some change! I have to be a little vague though since I only get the General Tso's Chicken and chicken fried rice but it is damn good! I would prefer it to be a little more spicy but it has a sweet and savory flavor that is delicious. I really don't have any complaints. I can't say it's dirty, but the décor is so out dated (much like any other Chinese restaurant). I'd really like to see some updates. It's in a good location and has a quaint vibe about it that could really be great if they "trendy-ed" it up a bit! read more

I absolutely love Food King. It could just be that I grew up eating here, but it is inexplicably my favorite Chinese food (and I have tried a LOT of Chinese places). It's not that any one menu item stands out, but everything on their menu is just good, and the quality has been consistent over the literal hundreds of times I have eaten there over the past decade. The chicken lo mein lunch special is my favorite, but I also like the General Tso's and the beef and broccoli. Flavorful egg rolls and great wonton soup. I plan to keep trying new places, but Food King will forever be my gold standard. Can't wait for the next time we're in Brunswick! read more

Well not a fan of leaving bad reviews... steam dumplings were big but not really much flavor.. we got a wrong order of .. not sure what it was chicken on a stick with rice... chicken was very chewy..not tender... order of eggfoo and the wife said it wasnt very good.. my order of Szechuan chicken, while the sauce was great.. I had to pick all the chicken out because it was like leather... portions were plenty.. but we just didn't like the food . we were hoping we would like it.. its closer to our house :( read more

I have been to Food King many times. I think their Singapore Mel fun is one of the best dishes I have had. Chicken, pork and shrimp with a thin rice noodle with a curry flavor so good I want it at least once a week. The portion is so large I get a lunch out of it too. Most of the Food King menu is fantastic only complaint are the egg rolls...they are average I splurge for the shrimp egg rolls the splurge is a whole dime but worth every penny haha. read more

Update: Well here I find myself a year later in the same situation. Wife is out of town for work, baby's in bed, it's 7:45p and I'm starving. Not being able to leave I had to get delivery and as long as your order is $12 or more Food King is happy to do it. Tonight I went with 2 egg rolls, small order of boneless ribs, and small vegetable lo mein sans carrots. Once again everything was good, nothing wowed, and I was pleased with my order. The egg rolls were a little bland but some soy sauce and spicy mustard fixed them right up. My order arrived piping hot in about 30 minutes. The current void in my life has been filled. I'm usually not a fan of Chinese food, but this place is good. It's a small nondescript place concealed in a strip mall; the same strip as McDonald's, Fat Bob's, and the new Planet Fitness. I would never have tried this place had it not been for great reviews on the community Facebook page. I also love the fact that they deliver and the delivery fee is only $1. I had the General Tso's chicken and a couple eggrolls. Reading the reviews, it seems as though they have a lot of solid choices. I predict that I will be ordering from this place at least two or three times a month. Good stuff! read more

Every week my kids and grandkids come over and we go out to dinner or have something delivered, I wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant so we decided to try China King restaurant. I ordered a quart of sweet-and-sour chicken, A quart of sweet-and-sour pork, 2 orders of crab Ringos, 11 eggrolls, a quart of Beef and broccoli and 2 Small pork fried rice .I think the chicken had a rubber texture . and they only gave me 8 eggrolls and I ordered 11 , Needed to give more fortune cookies only gave me 5 they should've figured out I was ordering for a Family of 11. I will try them again. Hope they do better next time, I didn't know they delivered So I have to try that next time. read more

Reasonable price and decent food. Dissapointed they don't have hot mustard, that's like McDonalds not having kethup. Also upon searching Google for menu, I seen several reviews written by a guy who look awfully like the guy who works there.... i was at home yesterday because i woke up not feeling so well but around 1pm i started to feel hungry and didn't know what i wanted. i thought "what can i get that's easy to order and nearby and easy to pick up?" i had a hankerin' for some Chinese take out and decided to check my Beyond Menu app. there, i found that Food King was available from which to order and i did. i ordered Kung Pao chicken, an egg roll and some wonton soup. while not as good as places like Nam Wah in Berea, Food King was damned good for a small take out place and I'll definitely be back for more. yum. read more

I found this place on a whim trying to find a local Chinese restaurant that would deliver. With a name like "Food King" i cant lie, i was a bit skeptical. From what I can tell there are not many in the area! I was so pleasantly surprised! I have gotten the Singapore Mei Fung a few times now and it's always amazing! ! Very disappointed in Food King. I am a long-time customer and was in the process of placing a $50 order. I asked that one of my items be packed in separate containers for delivery and was told they would not do it. Food king is pretty good. The place is small so I wouldn't recommend eating in but it is great for take out or delivery. Not to many Chinese places deliver so this was a bonus.
