I'm not sure if it is lack of training or what. I could write a book about how dissatisfied I am. The self checkout is a joke - the hand wands are broken - not to mention the scales and heaven forbid you should need help!! They walk up and are extremely rude - like they are doing you a favor. With that being said, there are some items I'll get here including bottled, canned, and boxed foodstuffs such as soda, flour, beans but I tend to stay away from their produce and meats with a few exceptions. There are a few general merchandise items that you can find on sale but again the quality of many items are quite cheap. As for this store, the people who work here are all generally nice and it's actually the only Walmart I've ever been to where an associate asked me if I needed help finding something. When I finally got their attention, they told me the scale was broken, which added more time to my wait. When I tried to buy some heated deli items instead, I found out there were none available, even though it was still early in the afternoon. She did provide me with the deli items. When I got home, I realized they gave me a pound of turkey instead of chicken, and it cost over $11. I'm not a fan of turkey, so I was very disappointed. I know that talking to the management won't help, as this store is the only one in town and seems to disregard customer concerns. I've also noticed expired items on sale and brought them to Customer Service, but they don't seem to take it seriously. I think the corporate office needs to investigate the situation at the Manning Walmart more closely.

The checkout lady was competent. She even thanked me for bringing my recycling bags, asked me how my visit was and invited me to come back to the store. The bagger was pleasant. He happily bagged my items and as I exited, I believe it was a manager, smiled and bade me farewell. Two thumbs up. This is a model class in grocery store customer service. I will be back.
