Really liked that this Harris teeter was open at 0600. I was on a road trip up the east coast and needed food for the road but was getting started super early. So I was very glad to pop in here and grab what I needed for the day. The produce was good however wished they had some soy allergy safe chips or crackers. But that's a pipe dream in most grocery stores. read more

Was super excited when they opened the salad bar section. I have now been there three different times in three different weeks and still the same. No one takes care of the bar or refills anything in it when you ask someone in the counter all they say is that's up to the people in the vegetable section. If that's the case, why would you put a bar on one of the store and all the vegetables on the other end? Might be a good idea for management to assign somebody to just handle the salad bar. Out of vegetables out of dressing, and when you ask for something, the people in the hot bar have an attitude. read more

From the city we moved there were not any Harris Teeter but I've heard of the chain prior. This grocery is the closest to what we enjoyed at Publix, large produce selections, fresh cuts of meat, fresh made sushi, clean, etc. We never actually do a full grocery shop here because the prices are higher than competitors. MVP is the discount card they have, it's hit or miss if your just coming off street. If you browse for the deals beforehand you can probably get better value from this program. The wine and beer section is large prices reasonable. The international section is missing a West Indies/Caribbean portion; there were crackers but not ones we wanted the variety pack that pair w cheese. The parking lot is not small but seems cramped, the aisles are not long enough. The store is on the corner of this funky 5 way stop in Florence, I'm not sure if that contributes to parking lot layout. For us, we only stop here for few items can't find regular shopping location. For those that don't mind higher prices this store is for your grocery needs. read more

This is the second and last time I will go to Harris Teeter on West Palmetto St. in Florence, SC to buy a cake. Both times there was no one to write happy birthday on the cake. I came in August and now September. Two out of two is a very bad statistic. Terrible! read more

Just being back after 18 years. I went through the line to pay for the groceries. I really don't expect customer service with this generation. So she ask me if I had a VIC card, and I replied no. And, followed with i need one. Out of 4 items I would have saved 8 bucks, and I knew this. She totaled up the groceries and asked me to pay. She looked shocked when I asked for a card. First time in 18 years, I didn't know you had to go to the front and sign up. It was only then she offered the store card. I knew she had it all along. Strange the man in front of me was treated totally different. Customer service 0 but I love the store for its selection. Sad people with their prejudice on display make things unpleasant . read more

The Florence HT is small compared to the other HT & Kroger's in the state. Yes, their prices are slightly higher than Food Lion, the PIG, IGA or even the discount grocery chains, but it is the quality of brands they carry that brings the consumer back. They are one of the few grocery stores with 6 self-checkout stations, so you do not have to wait on a line when you only have a quart of milk. Every employee is friendly and engaging. To find a full-service butcher or at least one that knows how to cut up a tenderloin for you is a golden fine today. Other grocery stores have employees in the meat department, but they will not cut anything or grind anything when asked. Fresh Sushi prepared in front of you - 7 days a week. The Deli has the best brand out cold cut meats and cheeses. The baked and rotisserie chickens do not last long. They prepare them several times a day. The sandwich shoppe serves hero's cold and toasted and are so affordable. Did I mention the hero's are made with Bores head meat & cheese products. The only thing that would make this location ideal is if they expanded into the old Tuesday morning space and expanded the Deli, sandwich shop & bakery. They could serve hot quick meals and make a killing at lunch time and for families on the go. Maybe even bring in a quality baker for fresh baked breads & rolls. Think about it HT, otherwise you will be left behind when the #2 national supermarket breaks ground and opens a super store. it will come before you know it. read more

A+, this is a mighty fine Teeter that is clean and bright and well stocked. The beer and wine aisle was excellent with lots of choices. The produce aisle was very nicely laid out and well organized. Frozen was tidy, too. Prices are a little higher than PW across the way, but it seemed to me that there was a better shopping experience and better products. read more

Clean, well lit, great selections! A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. Checkout was easy cashiers helped us sign up for the Vic loyalty card to save some and earn fuel points. I've been to some other stores in other states and this location is on par with those. read more

My service for a footlong sub was great today! I took advantage of the sale this week. Today was great! On a different experience to the deli for a sub iI had a guy who cheeped on everything. He only gave me 3 pieces of meats for a footlong sub. read more

My favorite grocery store when I lived in Florence :). They were always super nice, had great sales (sometimes pricier on everyday items, but most things go on sale eventually so we just try to stock up during sales). Also, they double coupons and the management is really nice toward those who coupon. Loved the bakery, sushi, and deli areas after the remodel. read more

Got the best subs in Florence. And you can use the EBT card with it too. If you don't got EBT and don't know anyone that sells them your still good cuz they got low prices on them joints. read more

The prices I saw in the store weren't about inflation it's a form of robbery. I think they had a brand of eggs for close to $10 a dozen.

You can read my review below from May of this year. I wanted to take the opportunity to update it and let you know that the place is getting worse instead of better. The customer service is consistently poor, the checkout process is abysmal and the advertised weekly specials are out of stock on a regular basis. If I had any viable option in this area, I would NOT shop here for any reason. I am thinking of Driving to Columbia on the weekends and going to Trader Joe's or a REAL Harris Teeter. (10/20/15) I'm a Harris-Teeter fan. My family has always shopped there and it's a Southern thing. Heaven knows the stores far exceed the Food Lions, IGAs and Bi-Los in the area. The selection is more than adequate, they have some specialty items and the wine selection is one of the best in the area. (That's not saying much). The big loss here is the deplorable customer service. Whether it is trying to get assistance with the meat and fish or doing something as simple as checking out, this place is NOT up to Harris-Teeter standards. When you repeatedly have a negative experience every time you check out, it makes you wonder who is training the customer service personnel. My guess is nobody because it just consists of poor attitudes and sloppy work. I don't always have the time to drive to Columbia or Charleston or even Charlotte to go to a different Harris Teeter or a Trader Joe's but when I do have the time, I choose a road trip over this store. This is by far my favorite grocery store in town. I used to shop in walmart for groceries only because it's cheap but lately they've been so bad with keeping things stocked so I had to supplement with another store. Harris Teeter has pretty much anything I could want short of an international market. They are often more expensive than walmart but if you time sales right you can save a lot of money. They offer fresh baked breads, desserts and even sushi here. Their sushi is decent, not great but also not terrible. All the staff members are super friendly and helpful. read more

Oh Harris Teeter how I love thee. To be fair, I really didn't "grocery shop" here, but Harris Teeter is my go to grocery store wherever they are. On this occasion, I was looking to stock up on Sweetwater brews, which I can't get at home, on my way back to Virginia. I came up snake eyes at a Target in Summerville, but knew Harris Teeter would have my back. While not directly off I-95, this was the closest off the interstate I could find, and close enough to not be too far out of the way. As usual, fantastic beer selection at Harris Teeter. They had what I was looking for, plus I picked up a couple of others I can't get in VA either. The staff here wasn't quite the usual cheery HT staff I'm used to at home, but nice enough nonetheless. And the beers I chose were $8 a six-pack ... more than $2 less that they were at a specialty beer shop in Charleston. Thanks to the Teeter, I now have a nice stockpile of Sweetwater 420. read more

Worst deli experience I've ever had. This us Harris's Teeter a name I connect with fine service and excellent quality. I tried to order a roast beef wrap but the beef was filled with fat and grizil. Disgusting! She had run out if provolone cheese so I just left. Stay away from this deli! read more

Ok. I rarely write reviews but here it goes. First I love Harris Teeter. It is my favorite grocery store in my area. Now for my complaint. I have elderly parents 82 and 77 respectively. My father heath is poor and there are very few things he will eat. One of the the things is crab legs. They read in their local paper about the e-Vic sale on crab legs and drove 40 minutes away to the Florence store. They have a Harris tester card but not the other e-Vic because they don't have an email or a computer. They were not allowed to get the crab legs on sale and this upset them. I would just think there would be something for the elderly who are not internet savvy to still receive these special sale price. Very disappointing for them and me! I've come to HT many a times, for many years. Today I had the morning off so I decided to get some shopping done. It was abnormally busy for a mid day on a Monday but I did not let that bother me (it didn't seem to bother 99% of other customers either). The lines were a little sluggish and I found the reason to be that their computers were having some issues, which happens with technology; it's not perfect. The real reason I give this review 5 stars is not just the quality selection and consistent options, but because of the manager and staff that were on duty during this abnormal rush. The manager knew that things were backed up and instead of sitting behind the customer service desk giving out orders, he was hands on doing everything he could to help his employees and customers. Whether it be knowing the upc code by heart to my produce (remember: computers were acting up) or jumping from one cashier to the next and talking to customers, this man was doing everything in his power to help alleviate the lag in check out time. One customer in the line next to me a few customers back became verbally irate with having to wait a few extra minutes. He was insisting that the manager give him full attention to listen to him complain (which might I add took him away from being able to actually help) and eventually began harassing other customers who simply asked the man to give the employees some respect that they deserve. There is no doubt this non-understanding customer will end up writing a terrible review or calling corporate offices and complaining. I think it is pertinent that potential customers and upper management see the other side of the story. Thank you manager on duty for doing everything in your power to help the situation and having the strength to still smile to a customer who is berating you for doing your best. read more

I am new to Florence and so far have only visited three grocers, 5 if you count Walmart and Target. Of the three dedicated Grocers it is the best, although it was overly expensive. Its vegetable section was the best by a bit though I think Piggly Wiggly surpassed on certain things, their meat and seafood sections are definitely the best in Florence's big grocers. read more

Went up there too send off a payment with Western Union at this Harris Teeter store..Paid 630.00 + 10 for same day service because it was late..My father in law is in the hospital with cancer and his bills have just fallen behind..I ask the lady how soon it would be in the system and she said within the hour.Came back and called the place it was going and they said they could not see it in the system. I waited and waited and it was still not showing up in the system.I went back and was trying too find out where the money had went too..Too make a long story short, No one could tell me where my money had went too..The whole reason for this is how the co-manger treated me up front..Very rude too me and never tried too help me he was just telling me how they could not give me a refund..He told me it would take 24 hours but he lied..Its gonna take 48 hours..How this man keeps a job is a different story..Very Very Rude.. read more

I visit Harris Teeter in Florence SC, on 3/2/17and purchase two lobster tails. When I took them out on 3/03 to cook, I notice a them spoiled. I called the store to discuss my concern, and the co-manager of the store stated that I needed a VIC card or a receipt to exchange or get any money back. I explain to the manager that I did not want any money just to exchange, and I did not have a receipt, because this type of item (lobster tail(s)) needed to be cooked quickly and I tossed the receipt not excepting them to be spoiled so fast. The manager was polite, but unwilling to except that. I understand the policy however, the lack of empathy and customer care I have experienced in the past to visit at this location and the ones in Charleston, SC take the cake, and make me not want to spend another penny where I'm told my business is valued but the actions displayed is a profound contradiction of that. I am done with Harris Teeter and I will not be spending my little $550.00 family budget there anymore, but at Publix in Charleston, SC. You can thank the Harris Teeter in Florence SC for that.
