I am very well known some of the staff will speak and say hello because they know me. Some of the younger kids when I'm grocery shopping I'll tell them go get a drink and a snack it's on me and I'll purchase it for them. Piggly wiggly is like any other store price wise things have gotten expensive of course they have it's the economy. Well yesterday I stopped in or swansboro pig we wiggling I was with a friend of mine and my friend said hmm I normally don't shop there because their meats have gone up it's expensive. I said well that's my hometown store we're just going to run in for a few things so upon entering the store I know it's hell very cold it was you can almost see your breath I was freezing come to find out the heat went out no big deal things happen. So as I went to the Express checkout I was waited on by someone who I thought was a very nice person we've actually had conversations we've talked about a lot of things I know everyone in there and they all are pretty well pleasant. Well there's a girl who works the express all her name is cresha.. upon checking out my groceries I said Jesus it's cold in here she said yeah the heat went out I said I gathered that it's pretty chilly I paid for my groceries she bagged them up and my friend right behind me she rang up his bill his bill came to 35 but he can't hear that well so he handed her 25 so jokingly to him who always says pig is very expensive I looked at him and I said geez Bob you know good and well it's more than that you're in Piggly wiggly it's expensive.. we both laughed that was between him and I jokingly. Well the cashier blew up at me she told me that she was tired of me complaining and that I need to go to Walmart or food Lion and not to come back to that store again.. and she yelled and I was floored I couldn't believe she would speak that way to me or any other guest plus it wasn't a conversation I was having with her it was an inside joke between me and my friend who refuses to shop there but I talked him into it cuz we were getting a few items. It upset him so bad he said this is the unprofessional place Ellen no way with Lowes food Walmart or food Lion ever have an employee talk to anyone the way that she just blasted you and told you not to come back to Piggly wiggly.. very disrespectful and so so unprofessional. She was complaining that they open from 12:00 to 4:00 cuz we had a snowstorm and how ridiculous it was just to open for those short hours I assume by her attitude she was called into work. Everybody has their bad days I worked in hospitality I could tell you the things that I sucked up and tried to make it right for people after all the money I'm spending in that store is paying some of their wages.. it was a terrible experience and I'm pretty sure I'm taking my 8 9 $1,000 a month food purchasing to food Lion

Our food (four subs) was STILL not ready for another 30 minutes. There was a steady line of in person customers, of course, but they had three workers actively making subs, and all three of them appeared to be prioritizing the in-person line. Only sporadically did they work on our online order, even though they were already behind on our order & those in line had only just arrived. Three other customers who had placed online orders arrived while we were waiting and were still waiting when we left. We finally got our last sub just as they finished serving their last customer in line. Again, this was 30 minutes after we had arrived, 30 minutes after our food was supposed to be ready, and fully an hour and 15 minutes past when our order had been originally placed. This was quite frustrating. I appreciate that the workers appeared to be doing their best, and they did apologize for the wait, which I also appreciate. But I could have gotten my food within 15 minutes if I had just gotten in line with everyone else. I'm not sure what the point is of having online ordering available, if the food isn't going to be ready when promised and the online orders are going to be so deprioritized compared to the in-person orders. Either they need to change their "ready by" times or they need to change their workflow. I will say, the sandwich, which was a vegan turkey situation, was absolutely delicious. I just wish I hadn't had to stand for 30 minutes and watch them make food for other people when our order had already been pending for longer than anyone in line.

He told me that gluten free pastries would be delivered the next day which I was excited to hear. I ended up coming back and getting a piece of gluten free coffee cake. It was a little pricey for one piece but I understand how difficult it can be to make gluten free. The coffee cake was delicious. The store also offers so much else at it and the woman that checked me out the next day was so kind.
