Been to this Food Lion many times over the years, typically just to grab something to help finish with dinner on the way back from vineyard visits in the area. It's decently stocked and the employees are helpful. There aren't many grocery stores out this way, so it seems to do a nice job carrying what's needed for the folks who need to rely on it. read more

Not used to such an immaculately well maintained Food Lion. Shimmering floors, wide isles, all products brought to front of shelves, all glass doors of freezer cases glistening clean & throughly smudge free. Even the mat in the entrance where the shopping carts are looks like it was just install - it's spotless. So many cart options to accommodate babies, toddlers and combinations of both, and all sizes. I only stopped by to use the restroom and grab some road food but WAY TOO impressed to pass up leaving a review. read more

Had issues twice with this store in Marshall. 1) requested cash on top of my purchase. Asked for $40. Cashier gave me a 20 with a 10 underneath, which I didn't notice until I got home. Shame on me. 2) Bought a "sealed" grass fed rib-eye. Next day opened it, smelled a little funky, thought maybe because it's special. Grilled it anyway. Two bites. In 50 years ( I'm 67) I've never tasted a steak like that. Threw it out. Not going to shop at this store again. read more

The store is not the cleanest or most organized grocery store I have been to (I.e., I wouldn't trust the 5 second rule and would sanitize anything of mine that dropped on the floor immediately), and the selection is okay. They have a ton of wine and beer though so I recommend this location if that's what you're looking for. They also have a decent selection of hygiene and baby products. Without exception, the cleanest most squared away food lion I've ever shopped in. Plenty of selection, deli is great. But what really sealed the deal for me was the manager. I was in the area for a week long event, visited the store 5 times, typically early, the manager on duty was without exception customer and employee engaged, heads up Food Lion, this cat is a keeper. read more

This is the cleanest grocery store ever. EVER. The staff is friendly.. maybe too friendly? They have to wear these name tags that have subjects (unrelated to the grocery store) that they are subject matter experts of, like, Star Wars or Marching Bands. It makes for interesting banter aside from the normal "paper or plastic." The wine selection here is pretty good. We haven't really been in here to grocery shop, but mostly to pick up odds and ends, as needed. But even the off the wall items that you would think they don't have, they have. But, it is in Marshall, VA, so don't make a "special" trip here. read more

Great, clean, well-stocked grocery store. Prices seem ballpark with what you'd expect at Safeway or Giant, nothing cheaper. I've also stopped here before just to use their restrooms, since there aren't any rest stops out this way and the ones here are way cleaner than what you'd expect at a gas station. There is also a small bakery and limited selection of hot food. Good place to know about if you're out this way or passing by on I-66 (it's no more than a minute off the interstate off exit #28). I agree with Lisa L. in that I feel a bit guilty snagging groceries here instead of going into Marshall to the IGA, but it is more conveniently located on a straight shot to the highway and generelly has a bigger selection of mainstream items. Sorry, IGA! I still make special trips to the IGA when I need specific items or locally produced things that they carry and Bloom doesn't. read more

It's the grocery store closest to the parents. We go there for birthday cakes, spinach, coffee creamer (wow, prices are high there), and the rest! The staff is the staff at a grocery store in th middle of nowhere. The produce is fresh and relatively well priced. The cakes were amazing, (in may) but apparently have re-vamped the products to have lesser skilled labor do the baking the decorating. There is a reward card, self service lines and regular lines. It is basically the only option in the area. The prices probably average out with the gas needed to get yourself over the walmart. read more

Please join me in boycotting this store due to their uncalled for practice of towing of vehicles in their lot. I WAS a local shopper for many years but will never set foot in there again after what happened today. Once every couple months a co worker and I meet up and drive together from Marshall to Severna Park,MD and back again in an 7 hr trip to our company headquarters. The parking lot is mostly empty so we never dreamed it would cause a problem. After coming home today we found my co-workers car gone. It turn out the management's towing company had towed it to Falls Church!!! What a scam. Food Lion Manager said They have no control! WARNING don't park there for more than a few hours. Stop in without hesitation. Bloom is a solid grocery store. They sell exotic things like whole sugar cane and lots of organic fare, as well as good produce. The only problem with it is that it has been stealing business from the IGA on the other side of town for the past few years. Ah, capitalism. read more

I'm not generally a fan of Food Lion, but the one in Marshall stands out as being better than those in larger towns where you have several options. They are fairly well stocked though sometimes they've been out of some produce (like one time they were out of peppers) and have some specialty items you would only expect to see someplace like Trader Joe's like Ezekiel Bread. Also unlike some Food Lions they have staffed bakery, deli and butcher counters, just don't get there too late in the night as they close long before the rest of the store. I particularly like that this location stocks some locally produced products and regional foods that you wouldn't find at national chains. read more

Horrible customer service. I saw a boy in the deli putting fried chicken in bags with no gloves on his hands and serve it. In all my experience at this store the managers and employees are rude and non customer oriented. I only stop here if there is no other choice now. I used to shop here every week for years, a cashier breaking my stuff and telling me to go get new ones while she checked other people out is what pushed me over the edge. read more

First it was Food Lion, then Bloom and now back to Food Lion. I liked it best as Bloom. Bloom had more organics and the produce seemed fresher. Now as Food Lion, the produce is not the freshest. I often find mushy veggies and short dated salad containers. I also hate that the fish is kept open to the air. Please put the fish in an enclosed case. I love Debbie? she is always friendly and personable, the rotating cast of teens that work there vary. It is always delightful to have your cantaloupe dropped into your bag. Nothing like a big bruise to remind you why you drive to Wegman's or the farmer's market. Happy to have a full service grocery in Marshall, just wish it was a better one. read more

Expected better product selection considering its the only grocery store for a few miles. Employees in general are very kind and helpful. Deli guys aren't very personable, but I guess thats why they'd rather work behind a counter instead of someplace like the registers which entail more customer interaction....idk. anyways its always clean and the hours of operation are very reasonable. read more
