I'm absolutely FURIOUS!! I just returned from Harris Teeter #HarrisTeeter #HT in Warrenton, Virginia. I shopped and FILLED my small cart, top & bottom. I go through Checkout #1, and was rang up by a #Teeter Associate. I was tempted by the sales, and purchased far more than what I had originally gone in there for. I pay with my card, and ease over to the Customer Service counter to play my Powerball numbers, after my items are paid for and bagged. Afterwards, I head towards the door, briefly looking at #Starbucks mugs and glanced over at the holiday candy that was being stocked. In my peripheral vision, I see 2 Managers easing to the front, 'incognito,' or so they thought, but I still didn't give it a second thought, that is UNTIL my cart locked up at the door on a dime. My original thought was that I had ran over an item on the floor, so I tried to move again. By the time I looked up, a Teeter Associate was at my cart with a scanner to UNLOCK the #AutoCartLock that #HarrisTeeterHT have now installed on their carts. When I asked the Associate why my cart locked up, she said, "you were not at the register long enough for the system to deactivate the lock." Like, #WTF!!! What the hell you mean I wasn't at the Associate manned register long enough, when my receipt look like a long #CVS receipt, and it's almost as long as my damn legs, and I'm 5'10" tall?! I didn't use the self-service registers, and have ALWAYS refused to use them! She unlock the cart, and apologize. That's not gonna fly with me! You don't lock my cart up, while other customers behind me walk out without incident! I'm NOT buying the BS they tried to sell me!! I turn around and go directly to CS. Those same 2 Managers come to the counter in an attempt to explain away the stop, NOW blaming it on a broken sensor at Register 1. Now, for the sake of argument, if they KNEW the auto-release-lock sensor was broken, why open the damn register when there are NUMEROUS other registers to open???‍ I'm NOT buying the explanation, because they know as well as I do, why they stopped ME, and not other customers!! Plain and simple, I was stopped because of the color of my skin, PERIOD!! I refunded EVERYTHING on that damn receipt!! I was too humiliated and mad to accept the TWO weak explanations they tried to peddle!! A day before #VeteransDay and this is what I encountered after clearly being scanned by their Associate!! Justin is amazing, Chris is always smiling and helpful, absolutely love, Robin and Kiani in Starbucks, miss a few people who've left, but coming on Thursdays for senior discount, and always being able to have a perfect Starbucks while I'm shopping. The young man in produce was super helpful today in the salad and endive situation for me. This store has habit of not having enough or at times ant manned registers open for large purchases, forcing everyone to use the self check out that simply are not designed to be more than an express 12 items or less. The staff that are supposed to be assisting self check out with issues are typically busy talking to each other and need to be flagged down. There are clearly staff in the store and usually many up front, not sure why management can't get the check out lanes opened. read more

Everything needs to be improved. Things are priced wrong, employees are more interested in their phones and chatting with each other than doing their job, and shelves are not stocked well. I use to love this store, but this past month has been a mess. I'll travel the extra 15 minutes to Wegman's, it's better organized with employees actually working. read more

I enjoy shopping at Harris Teeter. Most issues, are resolved instantly. The store is clean, the staff is helpful and kind. But there have been a few time where i was greatly disappointed by them. First, I prefer online shopping because of my busy schedule and I feel they do a great job fulfilling my order. Once my credit card was not processed and I provide my card information online when ordering. I assume it was an accident when they forgot to charge the card. The next day I get a call from someone at the Harris Teeter (warrenton) asking me if I canceled my payment. I was very upset and told him his approach was wrong and that question was an accusation of stealing. He seemed un-apologetic. If he had led with "the payment wasn't processed can we charge the card again" I would have checked my bank app (seen no charge) and said yes. Second, My elderly parents are moving and I've asked a few different HT employees to save boxes each time I've been told I can have them and to comeback in the morning to pick them up. I comeback to find no boxes. One employee said there were other people waiting for boxes and she'd take my name and number. I finally asked a manager and was told they won't save them for me because they need them. If that's the case, then the HT manager should communicate this to all employees so people don't waste there time. read more

The attitude and excuses at the Warrenton HT is mind blowing. The deli counter told me they could serve me b/c they had to clean up! Aren't you in the business to sell things not clean things? The cashier was very rude and projecting a big attitude! I approached the register and greeted her with "hello, how are you today?" No response. When i was finished I wished her a great day have a nice holiday weekend, no response, but attitude when she handed me my bags, I said "thank you, have a great rest of your day" again no response. However I did have a pleasant experience at the fish/seafood counter. The counter person was great, very personable, I carried on a conversation with him while he was getting my order. I was very disappointed during my last visit at store #329, on 530 Fletcher Drive, in Warrenton, Va. BRANDON HEATH is the manager of the store. I was there on 10/28/22. I try to put a bit of space between hateful occurrences and my anger. This incident will not leave my mind. I wanted to make a carbonara. I went to the butcher shop and asked a young man (I guess the hair between his lip and his chin is a goatee) if they sold guanciale. He asked me what it was: I told him an cured hog jowl or cheek, usually cured with rosemary, sage or thyme. I told him it was an Italian meat and the closest thing to it may be pancetta or prosciutto, but it's much better. He asked me to repeat myself, I did. The young man asked if I'd tried Whole Foods. I told him I had, but they didn't carry it. I'm a black WOMAN..old enough to be his grandmother He starts sneering and stated, "DUDE, we don't carry chicken feet or pig tails or neck bones and things like that - you'll have to look somewhere else. I told him I wasn't interested in the foods he'd mentioned, because I didn't eat them. All the while, he was loud-talking, putting on a show for the other 3 young men and whoever was in earshot. He stereotyped me, based on my race; his language was racist. His demeanor was condescending. I pay good money for good service. I do not appreciate his racist behavior. It has no place in your store, Mr. Heath. I won't tolerate it. I was so angry, I walked away because my response would've been equally inappropriate. When my friend caught up to me, seeing I was very upset, she asked what was wrong. She walked back to the butcher shop and asked for the manager. His name was Tun (sp), a very nice man, who listened and was shocked by the incident. I told him what happened, in front of the young man, who sneered and smiled the whole time. Sad. I stood there long enough to see him ask the young man to go into the back because he needed to address my complaint. Once again, you never know who you're talking to: EVERYONE IS TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT. I can choose to patronize ANY store. I'd like a response and I'd like to know if you care to win back my business. The store is nice, the food is good, it's overpriced and the ride is in excess of 30 minutes to get there. I'm not going to tolerate racism and pay for the privilege. I'd like the store manager to contact me. I didn't visit your store TODAY, because of his behavior. My experience was hurtful and unkind. I stopped in this Harris Teeter recently to grab some things to cook a meal for my friend I was visiting. It had a good selection of what I was looking for including some more niche products like 00 Flour. I'm used to different Italian brands where I live so I had to hope that the ones they were carrying were decent and they were. The store is laid out decently and was easy to navigate. I did have to look around for a basket when I first arrived but I found a stack hidden behind the self checkout that I was able to grab one from. read more

I shop here most weeks, and I really like the store. It's usually well-stocked with the items I buy, and I especially like the produce department. I find HT far more accessible and less confusing than larger grocery stores. Prices are higher on several items (salad blends, in particular), but most things are reasonably priced. Carts aren't sanitized, but there are wipes available. I clean my own cart anyway. I enjoy shopping at HT, and I'm glad it's here in Warrenton. read more

Another exciting & positive shopping experience here this past Friday. The four pounds of soft-shell "steamer" clams ($5.99/lb.) I purchased were so fresh they were still squirting as the guy bagged them. (Steamed & dipped in melted lemon butter - they were sweet & tender - sheer heaven.) And when I showed interest in the "special" of sashimi-grade tuna ($4.99/lb. - yup, I said $4.99/lb.), he immediately went into the back & brought out a fresh batch of huge steaks. ( I marinated them in my own special marinade, encrusted them with coarsely chopped black peppercorns, then seared them briefly in a hot cast-iron skillet to rare & meltingly buttery perfection.) Thank you Harris Teeter!! Again - it's SO NICE to have so very many wonderful fresh seafood choices in our immediate area after 12 years of virtually nothing. read more

!THEY SELL FOOD THAT HAS FALLEN ON THE FLOOR! Today during checkout, the checker accidentally dropped the green onion on the floor. It came out of the bag. She asked if I wanted to go get a new one and I said yes. On my way back to the register, the bagger was bringing the floor green onion back to the produce stand. I told him, hey wait that fell on the floor. He walked back and the managers asked why he brought it back. He told them "apparently this fell on the floor". The managers again told him to put it back on the produce to be sold even after they knew it fell on the floor. They did this all in front of me so they apparently do not care whether food has been on the floor. Also green onions cost probably $1 so imagine what they do with more expensive produce that fall on the floor. read more

Love Harris Teeter! Coupons/sales are great. They have a salad bar, deli, and sushi bar. They have fresh sandwiches & sushi lunches already made so you can grab & go. The salad bar is self serve. If I get sushi anywhere other than a sushi restaurant, it's at Harris Teeter. They have a ton of variety & it's all $10 & under. They have chopsticks, soy sauce, wasabi, ginger - the whole bit. This store is always clean & they always have a ton of staff working. There's a Starbucks here too. read more

Gotta love the Teet! This is a great grocery store. They do wonderful produce and run a decent meat and seafood counter, not to mention fresh baked breads and samples galore. My toddler LOVES HT because of the space ship carts, cookies,, samples, and balloons she can have. Gotta give the kids plenty of goodies to keep the mommies happy I suppose. Another wonderful reason to shop here is the buy one get one free sales weekly. Seriously, check the online flyer and get to HT and stock up! I saved over 60.00 this week and got BOGOs on things like pork tenderloin, chicken breast....my freezer is stuffed!! The staff at HT has been nothing short of awesome. Always friendly and super helpful. HT also has some hard to find items like a crazy pasta selection (pastas I never knew existed) a wide variety of condiments and not a bad pet food selection. The reason I didn't give The Teet 5 stars is the higher "every day" price on many items. When I do shop here I know I am paying more for certain items that I could get cheaper at Wegman's. So it is nice, clean, new, convenient and right in the heart of Warrenton. Oh, as a bonus the Redbox machine is right in the lobby. You don't have to search around near the check outs, it is right near the entrance to the store in the lobby. a huge plus if you have to tow kids like I do! read more

I just left this store. Just moved here temporarily because of work. If the attitude of the checkers is any indication of the demeanor of this area this is going to be a looooooong job. I got in line at the little old lady that could have been my grandma, if my grandma had a nasty tattoo "Faith" on her forearm. I put my cart down the runway but unbeknownst to me you put you cart in the opposite side and granny snapped my head off telling me I had to put it on the other side of I was in line. Sheesh. How am I supposed to know? Then she wanted to know if u had a card? I have it it in the machine. No a savings card!! I wanted to say don't yell at me grandma I'm having wooden spoon flashbacks! This is a great Harris Teeter with friendly staff. The produce is always fresh, and they are rarely out of something that you need. The prices, at least as I have found, are almost ALWAYS less than Safeway and usually less than Giant. You also don't have to deal with the insane crowds at the Wegman's up the road. read more

I've been using Harris Teeter for a few years now. I think it's the best grocery store in Warrenton. They are clean organized and well stocked. They have a great selection of organic food as well. They can be pricey but I don't find them to be outrageous. The best part is the online shopping. I order everything through there. That helps keep me on budget. I can order anytime and right fro the app. I give them instructions on how I like my fruits and vegetables and they pick them for me. Then I just pull up and they bring it to my car. It's so easy and the employees are always super friendly. I highly recommend trying the online ordering if you need to save time, moneyed just hate going in to the grocery store. read more

I normally hate grocery shopping. I hate dealing with crowded aisles filled with people who hog the way with their carts. Turning the corners, you always feel like you are going to run into someone or a display of food somewhere as you steer your cart and children through the maze. I hate the long lines at the register. The Harris Teeter in Warrenton is none of the above. It is like walking into a calm and wonderful place for me. The store is laid out well. There is a wonderful selection of fresh veggies and fruits, meats, breads, etc. Their deli section is nicely stocked with hot/cold items that actually look and taste great. The store brands are WONDERFUL - look for HT Traders products. Prices are always competitive with the other stores in the areas and there are weekly specials on items we actually use. Aisles are wide and can comfortably allow people through with their carts. There are 4 self-service check outs plus the regular checkouts. We rarely have to wait more than a few minutes to check-out. Cashiers come running to help you to their lanes even if you are the second person in line. Everyone is super friendly. As an added bonus, there is a Starbucks in the store. This is a great grocery store. It's a small store in comparison to the others in the area. Never long lines at the cashier stations - they compete with nearby Safeway, Giant, and Food Lion. To comparison shop, I have found Safeway to have the best prices. Although, I only do my grocery shopping here, and 80% of the time I use the express shopping method. It is a better approach than Peopod - this is home delivery through Stop&Shop and Giant (same store). To schedule a drop off time at the house was crazy, often I found it difficult to get home in time. With the express shopping, I go online to place an order - you can shop from the circular to take advantage of the sales. It also saves all your shopping history, which makes it easy to place orders by what you've ordered in the past. They do not have an app for on-line ordering. You need to give 4-hours notice, I recommend filling your on-line basket as you think of things throughout the week. If you use them as much as I do, it may be worth (instead of paying $4.95 service charge for the service) to sign-up for a $15 monthly membership - this way, even if you pick up a few things more than once a week, there's no charge. To me, this is a great option and largely the reason why I only shop here. It's great for busy people who want to quickly grab a big shopping order on their way home. Harris Teeter in Warrenton, VA is not enforcing customers wearing masks. I was there this afternoon for approximately 20 minutes and witnessed at least 7 customers in the store without masks. Management IS NOT monitoring the use of masks upon entrance to the store, which is so unsafe and quite sad. I have been a loyal customer at Harris Teeter but will be shopping from now on in a store that cares about the safety and welfare of its customers! read more

I use to come here all the time! My favorite store but my pin to my card was not working and they would not let me run credit and told me there's nothing they can do and i couldn't get any groceries! I spent an hour in the store shopping and was gonna spend over 200 on things . Even asked if i could show my id that matches my card and they wouldn't take it . Wasted my time . Used to be my favorite store, but prices have jumped way too high and many items cost over twice as much as other local stores. Now they won't honor rain checks they issued before they began adding expiration dates. Flat out refused. Said there was a notice on the door once. Here is what I do NOT like about this store. It never fails. I get the Boar's Head deli meat specials utilizing my VIC card. Every single time, I am asked...."Is it o'k that it's over a pound?" No, it's not o.k..... I want the "sale"price of $8.99 LB. I need one pound. Not a pound and 3 quarters, not a pound and a half... Surely, after time of working the slicer and scales, you can tell what a LB of deli meat looks like. And if you can't.... Take off the extra to make it a pound like I asked for and not ask me to pay more because you can't weigh items properly. It's ridiculous that I am asked this every single time. Here is what I DO like about this store. It's a very clean store from the moment you walk into the fairway. Nice plants, Outdoor accessories. Produce is some of the freshest looking I have seen. We avoided this place for a few years thinking it's too pricey for us to shop at. I was wrong. It's pretty comparable to the others nearby, Safeway & Giant. I like the layout of the place, does not feel cramped at all. Some places the turns between aisles are so tight that you play bumper cars with the other carts. Friendly staff and fresh produce and the deli counter is wonderful. A plus..... A Starbucks inside! Woot! We haven't tried the catering yet, but we may do it soon. read more

New to the area and figured I would give this grocery store a shot considering it had veteran-designated parking. I went it to apply for a VIC card and no one was at the customer service booth (no problem). Finally someone waived Jordan over who looks like he could be middle management. I said, "Hi sir how are you?" I did not get a response. He came off arrogant and cocky like he was too good to give me a VIC card. Advice to Jordan: You are in customer service, be polite to the customers who are providing you with a paycheck. I wont shop here anymore. read more

This is the most disgusting grocery store. I shop here every week because I feel like it's the least gross in this town. Yet every week I come home with something either expired or moldy. The other day, I was buying basil and every single pack was covered in mold. Then I went to buy packaged chicken and the first 5 packs were expired. Tonight, I bought salad dressing and stupidly forgot to check the date on it. I went to use it and it expired a month ago. SO GROSS!! read more
