This store in particular is fairly large with a pretty expansive format, but a lot of the merchandising left me confused. For instance, I was looking for lemonade, and I noticed that it is carried in 3 to 4 different locations across the produce juice and deli sections. It made it extremely frustrating trying to figure out whether or not they carried Milo's lemonade, which I eventually discovered they carried every milo's product except the lemonade??? Not really sure what the rationale behind that is given the lemonade is the most popular sku in the brand. Anyway, I digress. The second thing that I find a little challenging with Publix is understanding what the actual deals are standing at shelf. I couldn't really tell what was on sale, what wasn't and what the real values were. I'm assuming this information is probably buried in a sales flyer, which I probably need to pick up the next time. That being said, I found overall service in the store to be decent but even given the number of employees walking around in the store I don't think I've was ever really been greeted or offered help without asking first. Definitely a location and a brand that is going to have to grow on me.

Specifically, they have a good selection of prepped food and ribs and chicken is cheaper than at Food World in Statesboro plus it's a better selection than in Statesboro because practically none of the grocery stores in Statesboro have ribs and none of them have ribs every day. They also have pizza, and usually they have it by the slice or the whole pizza so you can get a little or a lot. This also has a huge wine selection. And it has cute impulse buy stuff in the front, like plastic flower pots in summer or whatever. Food selection for dairy and dry goods and fruit and veg is just about like any grocery store and does stand out for anything good or bad. If you are from Statesboro and you are on the way home after a trip, definitely it is worthwhile to stop over at this grocery store. The prepped meals selection is better and the price is right. So if you are getting groceries after a trip, you can do that reliably and then also get dinner.

It really is a good spot to buy your boozes if you want something other than Mad Dog 20/20. Matter of fact they are one of the few places that you can purchase Guinness in McIntosh County. The Darien Pig while bigger usually does not have Guinness. All the employees here are friendly and always willing to help you find what you need. You usually don't have to wait in line very long and they bag your groceries with a smile. The laid back coastal attitude can be felt here. Prices are a little high at this Pig. The do have a monopoly on the market. The only other store around is Dollar General. Make sure to get a PFC card. One other big tip, you might want to give the Pig a call before you head up to buy groceries if it's after 9 p.m. Over the years the Pig's hours have changed. I'm not sure how late they stay open these days. During the Christmas season this Piggly Wiggly always has great deals on Christmas trees.
