I picked up a VIC card at Customer Service and only had to wait a couple minutes behind another customer. Registration was fast and painless - I was prepared to answer a slew of tedious questions, but all the associate needed was the basic info off my driver's license. First stop was the produce dept, which has an amazing variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. My guinea pigs thank you for the very large, fresh and crispy heads of Red Leaf and Romaine Lettuce! The deli area has a wonderful selection of meats, sauces and dressings, and especially cheeses! I love it like a rat and will definitely return for more! I didn't buy anything in the bakery but was sorely tempted by the coconut cakes. (Next time for sure!) There were delicious cakes, bagels, doughnuts and fresh breads on display. The meat market is excellent and has an impressive inventory of seafood! Now I know where to come for fish and seafood. The deviled crabs (which weren't on our list, but were irresistable) were yummy. The dairy department is one of the best I've seen in Wayne County, with a wide selection of milks, dips, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and such. Whatever you need, they probably have. Same for the frozen foods. The grocery aisles were easy to access, which is great if, like me, you sometimes (or always) use a wheelchair. Again, the variety of choices is excellent. Prices were a bit higher on some items than than Wal-Mart or Food Lion, but the atmosphere is very pleasant and the store is clean and has well-marked aisles. Checkout was wait-free and our checker was a very nice young lady who got us rung up and sacked up quickly. We really liked this store and we will definitely be back for more.

I don't usually review grocery stores, but I genuinely love Wegmans, and this location in particular is fantastic. The store is always immaculate, the staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and it's usually very well stocked every time I go. I'll agree with other reviewers that Wegmans can feel a little pricier than some other grocery stores, but I've never actually sat down and compared receipts because, frankly, I love the products they carry. At this point, I'm a forever Wegmans girlie. Also, they keep sending me 10% off coupons, so apparently the marketing team knows exactly what they're doing -- because I absolutely will drive farther than necessary for a good grocery experience. Beyond the standard grocery selection, their prepared foods section is HUGE, and the sushi is genuinely good. Grocery store sushi can be a gamble, but Wegmans does it so well they even opened their own sushi restaurant in NYC, which is a pretty fun flex. As a bonus, they carry all the essential Western New York staples: Chiavetta's sauce, Spiedie sauce, kummelweck rolls, Zweigle's whites and reds, Bills merch, Weber's mustard, Labatt Blue and Blue Light, plus several Finger Lakes wines. The possibility of a real life Piggly Wiggly existing was so far outside my realm of possibility I nearly crapped my pants when I discovered that they were alive and well and living in North Carolina! The nearest PW to me was a 40 minute drive outside Raleigh in what I perceived to be the middle of nowhere. It was smaller than I was expecting, more of a "market" size versus a "grocery store". They had all the basics (meat, cheese, bread, etc) but what was particularly interesting to me were the "not so basic" items! There were ham hocks, specially made hot dogs that happened to be bright pinkish in color and all sorts of other southern staples that I'd never heard of before. Culturally, I felt very satisfied after my visit but the Piggly Wiggly isn't someplace I could see myself shopping at on a regular basis due to the limited stock of merchandise.
