Considering I'm from out of town and this is not my regular grocery store, they had descent food options and necessity items. They were low in stock of ground beef option the day of my visit, but I made it work with what they had available. We were in the area hiking in the National Park. It's a good market for a quick grocery run - meats, cheeses, produce, snacks and drinks. They actually have a solid drinks section - it's a whole corner of the store with juices, sports drinks, sodas, sparkling water. I don't recall seeing a self check out section, but the store wasn't busy and they had two lanes open. It's a quiet market in a plaza with a Burger King nearby and other shops. read more

Been having issue with frozen foods being freezer burned, prices are ridiculous and tonight I went to buy fresh fried chicken from the deli and the deli lady was seriously going to serve me from the dried up 3 hr old crusty looking chicken tray instead of the fresh tray next to it! She claimed that tray was the "Mixed" tray whereas I was wanting the dark meat. I told her "I think you can figure out what a drumstick and a thigh are". Still...she gave me the dried up thighs but I got to go at least give me the fresh legs. Shoukd have asked for discount. They were both terrible. This little store is pleasantly surprising. First of all it's not one of a chain that I'm aware of and so it has very unique personality and products are very surprising in a good way. The fact that it's been there almost 60 years. It's like going through a time warp when you shop there and the people are ever so nice that work there too. i am so glad we discovered this store! We drive 10 miles to shop at this hidden gem. The customer service is outstanding and the cashiers are always very friendly. The produce is of the best quality and stays fresh a very long time. The bakery items are always fresh and very tasty. Super friendly workers! Such a convenient spot to stop in and out town. Their bakery is the best! Amazing sourdough bread baked right there in the store as well as the doughnuts! If I could give fewer stars I would. I have been shopping here off and on for 10 years. In that 10 years I have walked out and left groceries sitting in a cart at the back of a line that stretched in to the middle of an aisle because they only had one cashier. Today was absolutely the last time I will ever walk in to this crap hole. For the very same reason. Two employees standing around chating in the deli. Both of whom I've seen run in a register. One person putting out produce. Whom I've also seen run a register. Yet there again a line of over 7 people. 2 of which had a cart full of items. Yet the cashier never noticed and wouldn't all up a back up cashier. When I asked if there was someone else that could ring. Her flippant reply was. Her backup "would be back in a ew minutes". Having managed a couple of different retail stores in my life. I fully understand what it's like to be short handed. I also understand how difficult it can be. But I also understand that there are always enough people in the store that are trained to run a register and can jump in for 5 minutes to take care of long lines. I've seen this happen in plenty of other grocery stores all the time. But never here. They're the only game in this small town so they obviously don't care that I will never spend another dollar in there store again. I can only hope more people will start to do the same. And we can someday get a decent grocery store sometime in the future. BTW. I was able to go across the street to Walgreens and get the few items I needed anyway. Picked up my items. This is my first time stopping in on my way to camp in Lake Tyee. It's much cheaper to shop here than at the grocery store in Concrete. Anyway, it's your typical grocery store, pretty unremarkable, EXCEPT they have random AMAZING products, like Wild Friends Peanut Butter. And the biggest selection I swear in WA. I've been on this mad hunt for Wild Friends in Seattle, and you can find a few here and there but Food Pavillion had tons of different flavors. Okay, I'm a peanut butter addict, clearly. Otherwise, good deals here. Friendly, helpful staff. It's our new stop on the way to camp! read more

I bought fresh corn for 1.00 each. I have had produce go bad nearly overnight and am always skeptical. But I figured since I'm cooking it in an hour or so..no problem. I think this particular batch may have actually fallen from the corn truck, was run over by said truck, then sold for cheap to the store which they sold to unsuspecting me for a premium. I live only two blocks from this store but will in the future drive elsewhere. I am so done read more

Part of my childhood and teenage years were spent in Sedro-Woolley. My mom seldom shopped for produce here; we always made the extra long trips to either Haggen or Fred Meyer. This place doesn't have much going for it. The only polite people who ever worked there were some former high school classmates who took the opportunity as a summer job. Otherwise, every other employee just acts like they've got a ten foot rod shoved up their asshole. I mean, I understand you're 40-something, clearly loathing your life because you work in Sedro-Woolley (at a Food Pavilion of all places). I don't expect you to kiss my ass because you're from a small town and working in a service industry, but I also don't expect you to be the biggest, sorriest low-life who sucks all joy from any living thing within a 20 foot radius. Seriously, it makes me want to slit my wrists. Nobody is judging you because you work at a grocery store (we appreciate you, you play an important role within the community)! What they are judging you on is your shitty attitude, so buck-up! Advertising how jaded your are is very unbecoming as a respectable human being. Don't like where you are? Do something about it. I get that Sedro-Woolley is reluctant with change. It's evident in the way their townsfolk drive around the roundabout on highway 20 (it's like traffic laws and common sense evade their brains once they drive in it). It was evident when that other market went out of business in 2004 or something. It's evident in their lack of basic selection at the only goddamn grocery store in the whole damn town! My mom chooses to go to the Rite Aid because that place has a broader and cheaper selection. Once your townsfolk start choosing Rite Aid and Walgreens over the only grocery store, you might have a problem. Now that the logging industry is declining, the people who live up river (Concrete and Newhalem, I'm looking at you) will continue to make the hour long drive to Burlington to get their staples. It's a shame they have to pass through Sedro-Woolley, when there's so much open land to at least get a Safeway or something. With a better option, they can pull all that business from Newhalem to Bow. But it's Sedro-Woolley, where there are multiple bars and churches on every block. read more

I have grocery shopped many places from Alaska, Oregon, California, even Montana & of course all over WA ST. E. of the Mountains W. of the Mts. Seattle, Bellevue, Ballard, Central Distict . I have never seen, and heard of so much rudeness. Out of the 75 (I'm guessing at 75) people that Food Pavilion employees There is maybe one or two nice people. I think that speaks to the management. I was there Tues, 9/11/12 and the male cashier didn't and wouldn't bag the items we purchased. Isn't that part of his job? This is only one incident. My first trip to this grocery store will be my last. This place is a joke. They claim they have "low prices". Compared to who???? Both Safeway and Fred Meyer have far lower prices (especially on their produce) than this place. It's also incredibly outdated, dingy and looks unclean. I went there, a couple of days ago, because I only needed one item and since this place was right next to where I work I thought it would be easy to run in and run out. WRONG! Stood in the check-out line for almost 10 minutes. 10 minutes! And there were only two people in front of me. There is no reason, on this earth, why it should take 10 minutes to do two transactions. This is a great little supermarket in Sedro-Woolley. I've got a really good reason to go here maybe you don't know about. The meat department sells something they call "Perfect Burger" in packages that look like regular hamburger. This is the best stuff you're going to find anywhere for hamburgers and I've been hassling local butchers to make this stuff for me custom for several years now. It's a blend of chuck, sirloin, and brisket that has an 80/20 fat ratio. I don't know if it's the result of all the great burger recipes on the Internet for grinding your own beef, but here it is all done for you. I hope it actually sells so that they keep making it. Also, the "Cheap Chicken Mondays" are worth the trip too. 8 pieces of fried chicken for $4.99. Delicious. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had and when I checked my receipt I was shocked to find out it was the store manager helping me!

This store really should be avoided if you value your wallet, need fresh produce or other perishable foods. The produce can be found to be at the 'use by' date and still on the shelf. We have bought foods there that were up to a YEAR after the pull date. Be VERY careful about buying meat here. Pricing is at or beyond Safeway or Haggen on most items and the quality is not there. The store is generally low on inventory and the clerks are quick to acknowledge there are problems with money and suppliers when asked if they will restock the shelves. Lately it seems to be getting worse and a clerk said the recent buyout of Western Family has them low on the list of priority deliveries. They have been out of most bean coffees for two weeks for instance. Some of the boots on the ground employees are mostly friendly but the Store Manager is known to be rude and clueless. Unfortunately you can tell the working conditions are poor. There is never more than two checkers and I have seen up to 10-15 folks deep in line. You will find no help on the floor, not even the bakery. And finally, the store is not clean which should make you very nervous. I recommend you do not shop here to protect your money and health. I am hoping someday it will close and a decent store put in its place. read more
