I like this store. Who would have thought that a small town like Livingston would have a locally-owned grocery store stocked with organic, and local, fresh products, to rival that of its box-store competitors? For someone local, or on the way to Yellowstone Park for camping, who doesn't want to drive into Bozeman and searching for organic and fresh, seasonal, local produce, Food Works is the place to go. In addition to the usual grocery items and miscellany, Foodworks has bulk products, something that was particularly interesting to me, as I have been searching for some organic cornstarch. It's surprisingly harder to find than I expected. Here it was. The manager explained they sourced from Austria. I can't say I was expecting that -- but okay. Also available daily are ready made sandwiches and soups that don't appear to stay available long, so come early. read more

For such a small store, this local grocer packs a punch!! They have a LOT of what the average health conscious food connoisseur might be looking for and more! Raw organ meats, organic in-season produce, medicinal herbs, artisanal bread and chocolate are just a few treasures one can find here at Food Works. However ..my FAVORITE thing of all at this store is the selection of ready to eat meals. In particular the egg salad and curry chicken bowl. Truth is, since I moved here, I have been slacking on my usual meal prepping and healthy eating and thus have been craving something tasty and packed with nutrients. The chicken curry bowl was that perfect blend between absolutely delicious and knowing my body is going to love me for this. Ps. *Parking lot is TIGHT!! I love this store! Every time I come to Livingston I go there for all my groceries. In the past they have even ordered things especially for me for the length of my stay. I love all of the healthy, organic options and that they support local, and they have the cold pressed juices (Evolution and Suja) that I drink at home. The feel of the whole place and everyone who works there is so nice. It's a gem of a place and I'm so grateful it's in Livingston! I also love their new restaurant in town - the Shepard pie is amazing and I love the outdoor seats with the movable tables. read more

Had lunch at the Main Street location yesterday. My husband and I had homemade, fresh chicken pot pie. So, so good! Just loved the wonderful aroma when we walked in. They also offer a full breakfast...breakfast sandwiches, sausage gravy, eggs, and pancakes. A great place here in Livingston downtown. read more

Bought a cherry pie for Thanksgiving. Almost cracked a tooth on the first bite. The pits had not been removed. The owner showed no concern and offered no apology. A refund ($9.99 for a six inch pie) was grudgingly given. From what I have seen I think a health inspector would have a field day here. For me not a healthy health food store. read more

This store is amazing and would even sway my decision to move back to Livingston! Amazing freshly baked goods that range from gluten free to full of gluten. They use local milk, meats, flour, etc in their baked goods! They are reasonably priced and so tasty. They also have great pre-made sandwiches, salads, side dishes, and entrees to take. Oh & did I mention, fresh homemade soup & biscuits? Ontop of all this, they have an amazing supplement section plus dry goods and fruits and veggies. The staff is always kind and so helpful. This place should make your list of places to stop and stock up in Livingston. Ditch the high priced restaurants and get some fresh foods to make at home or to take with you. We typically appreciate this special foods health store here in Livingston. However, my husband and I were just here, and there was a water bottle at the cash register with a "F*** Trump" sticker. Just warning any unassuming future customers before bringing their kids in. Now don't get me wrong, we are all about freedom of speech and expression, but this felt vulgar, ostracizing, and unprofessional. read more

I am here to rave about the pork carnitas. I ran into the store a couple evenings ago to grab some cold medicine for my sister and thought I would check out their to-go food options. I landed on the pork carnitas with yams, mushroom and cauliflower saute, and lime crema. I cannot possibly describe to you how delicious this dish was. For $10.99 I had more than enough food for myself and my husband and it was absolutely fantastic. It was delicious, satisfying, reasonably priced and I could go on and on. If you are wondering what to do for dinner, I highly recommended Food Works. They stay open till 8pm and their staff is lovely. What a gem! read more

We vacationed in Bozeman this Christmas and made contact with Don and Lynette, the owners of Food Works. We exchanged emails, spoke on the phone and settled on an order which they put together and were even willing to deliver. The food was fresh, the elk back strap devine.
