We decided to stop in on the way back to pick up bottled water and a couple other things for our hotel room. I stayed in the car while my husband did a quick run in and out. He reported that the store setup seemed weird to him and he spent a lot of time looking for the maple cookies. Cashier was friendly, he just thought the layout of the store was confusing. Hard to comment about the prices because of currency in Canadian and we are from US so everything seems so much cheaper. Posted sign says 2 - 24 pk water for $5. That would be $3.66 U.S. Dollar! Or $1.83 per 24 pls.

Vainly searching for help to find an item and then rude service at deli counter…read more Searching for a sushi mat, I looked in vain for an associate, finally finding somone at the next Deli meat counter. It was 12:45 and the whole section of the store seemed empty of staff. The associate came back to the counter and there was only one other customer who seemed to be browsing the selections. I said, " I have a quick question " Do you have any sushi mats?" Her counter was just opposite a sushi supply section I had already searched. Despite this she said an abrupt "I don't know but she was here first" in a rude way. I was just looking to have a question answered and didn't think I should wait through a whole slicing meat order first. This person is not an asset to your business but you need to train your staff better and have a policy of asking staff to contact a floor person to come and help when necessary rather than rudely brushing them off. I left the store angry and highly doubt I will be back despite holding credit and loyalty cards from Superstore.

I dunno, but congratulations you nailed it. These women do not greet you, they make you feel like going to their register is a horrible thing to do to them. They are nasty about bagging your groceries, and are never polite and friendly when you leave. I understand it is hard to keep staff, but i would rather deal with a robot than these nasty wenches

They are both in the newly developed area by the Best Western Hotel. What I liked about this Sobeys when I visited was that they had some regional and local products that can't be found at my Sobeys back home (I'm from Ontario). I saw some local sodas, and their prepared food section had lobster sandwiches (they were $7.99 and weren't great, but hey it was something different, lol). The store itself is not as bright or modern looking as the Atlantic Superstore across the street, but as a tourist, I liked that they had some local products, while The Superstore just carried the same stuff that my Superstore at home carries. Lots of free parking.

I subsequently split my head open and fell down on the floor. My wife called for help as I was lying there. Staff finally arrived and stated that I only hit my head on the sign and would be all right. When we saw the manager he did apologize. We stated that we wanted to speak with him before we wrote letters regarding this dangerous situation. He stated that we could write whomever we wished as the letters would just come back to him anyway. It rather made me feel that he would not take the letters seriously. Over the decades I have operated a number of successful businesses. If one of my employees or affiliates had spoken to a customer who just split his head open and collapsed on the floor in the manner they did, I would have terminated his/her/their employment or affiliation with my company. This is not a good situation, the fact that the store set up an obvious disaster is wrong and dangerous to the general public.

Google maps revealed that this grocery store is a short walk from the cruise terminals, though you have to walk away from it a bit because of the railroad tracks. We found displays of maple syrup but had to ask for help finding the maple candy. It was in the bakery department and there was only one option but it met our need. There is plenty of parking for those with cars.

It is located in the newer developed area by the Best Western Hotel. Outside of Atlantic Canada, the store is called The Real Canadian Superstore, which is kind of a funny name, but coming from Ontario, that's what I know it as, lol. They are owned by Loblaws and they sell President's Choice and No Name products. I didn't really see anything there that was different from my local Superstore at home, which was kind of disappointing for me because when I'm away from home I like to browse supermarkets for local and regional products. I guess The Superstore is very corporate and all stores are pretty much the same. So from a tourist point of view, I was disappointed, but if I was a local living in Liverpool, I think I would love the Superstore because it's big, bright, and modern looking, and prices are good. Lots of free parking on site.
