I went through the checkout line as usual, and once I was given my total, I gently placed a $20 bill on the register where the cashier could easily pick it up. At no point did I throw the money, toss it at her, or behave in a rude or malicious manner. When the cashier, Andrea G., gave me my change, she placed it on the checkout belt. I had no issue with that. However, there were several coins included in my change, and before I had finished gathering all of it, she began placing another customer's groceries onto the same belt. I politely said, "Excuse me, my change is under there," because the other customer's groceries were being placed where my change was. Andrea responded, "It's over there," in a manner that I felt was unnecessarily dismissive and rude. At that point, I told her, "You're being extremely rude." I want to be very clear that I was respectful throughout the transaction. I did not throw money at her or treat her disrespectfully. My concern arose from the way my change was handled and the way I was spoken to when I tried to retrieve it. read more

This is the only Electrify America station in Soledad that I am aware of, therefore I charge my EV at this station often. However i constantly come across shopping carts obstructing the parking space to access the charger. It's pretty annoying, shows a lack of human decency in the community. The good: I got a small bottle of gochuchang for a very good price and some key lime mini cupcakes. They had many tres leches and flan cake options. The aisles are spacious. They're open 6am-midnight so the market is very accessible. The interior is massive and so are the aisles. Their baby section had more supplies than your average grocery store. They had large sized diaper boxes and items like sippy cups and teethers. The bad: It's pretty cold inside because the beer and fridge areas are open. The interesting: This store's appearance and layout reminds me of FoodMaxx because it has a warehouse feel to it. read more

The service has really gone downhill, I go almost everyday. One of my go to cashiers denied machine because I have a fresh haircut. U get that I might look slightly younger but I'm 35, almost 36. A good amount of the cashiers have paid attention to the frequency l attend at the store. A supervisor was called over and sided with the cashier. I'm all for camaraderie but not at the expense of a continuous profit generation client. I'm taking my business elsewhere. Im choosing quality of service over the convenience of quality of price. in the past few days I have noticed a couple of things off at this location in Soledad foodsco I was going for my daily shopping as always and I came across a worker she look at me almost as if she was under the influence of something it really makes me concerned To each their own but this is a store that most people go kids teens and adults their should be some form of respect. I typically don't complain but this situation has gotten out of hand, Not only have I experienced this but many others have noticed that many employees are working under the influence in this facility which causes them to lack performance at work. I have experienced two different interactions with two different employees in the front floor not being able to assist me for help and sending me to the wrong section, visibly high. The young lady then proceeded to drop an item. I'm writing this review because my mother was having a hard time shopping yesterday at the usual store she goes to because again an employee was under the influence. If you compare it to a Safeway, you might be a bit disappointed. However they do have lots of the basics and their produce isn't too bad. The biggest bummer is their meats section. They don't have the usual cuts of steak, but they do have a lot of others so you can find something to throw on the grill. We usually hit the bakery section at lunch time for their roasted chicken, which is reasonably priced and very tasty. Oh yeah, they have a Red-Box kiosk too! read more

The word mortified does not even begin to describe how I feel about this Foods Co. My son and daughter-in-law went in to do some shopping and took their service dog with them who is clearly marked with a red vest and big red writing on it that says service dog on the left on the right and on the top of the vest. We had the rudest employee approach my daughter-in-law and ask her is that a service dog, which is fine even though the dog is clearly Mark that's fine, in which they replied yes it is, she then said are you sure it's a service dog? Both of them were very baffled at what kind of question is that? She then proceeded to ask him again if this was a service dog and if they were sure it was a service dog. They were asked 5 times if this dog was a service dog, bringing my daughter-in-law into an extreme anxiety attack. After that she did not approach them but every time she encountered them throughout the store she would smirk at them like as if they were lying about their service dog. It is completely appalling to me that her behavior could be so cruel because there are many ailments that a doctor will prescribe a service dog for that are invisible. Such as fibromyalgia, severe nerve damage, PTSD, lupus, and this is just to name a few. And to approach someone who has these invisible ailments and make the effort to go to the market and Shop is a really big deal. It's a huge accomplishment and to have someone come question you in such a fashion as if you are faking is unconscionable. I understand there many people that will fake there illnesses and say their dog is a service dog because the ADA does not require the dog to be marked. But the pet was clearly marked and I might add very well behaved. At the checkout, the young lady was very nice but oddly when she was ringing me up the water they bought she mentioned oh I have to mark this there's a camera up above me and it was very odd for her to say that because my husband and I have gone to this Market 4 over 5 years and have never been told that statement or looked as if she had been told something. This employee who asked my daughter-in-law about her service dog got her as she walked into the store and smirked at her and my son throughout their shopping when she ran into them as she was restocking. It made the shopping experience extremely stressful to the point that my daughter got a flare up and was crying in the bedroom when she got home. She was so full of anxiety and she had woke up and it started off as a good day for her. To have something like this happen to her will set her back quite a bit and she will be in extreme pain as well. Thankfully our fur baby her name is Belle is right by her side comforting her and has making her feel better. I just really can't believe that people can be so hateful and cruel. I called the store and spoke with the co-manager by the name of David and found him to have a very nonchalant attitude about the whole thing. Although I will admit that I interrupted him when he was speaking, when I first called to let him know what was going on he advised me that the employee had already spoken to him about approaching my daughter-in-law. And I will still explaining to him what happened and he interrupted me and I told him that she's not telling you everything because apparently she told him that she only asked two times if Belle was a service dog, and in fact she asked 5 times and was smiling at them like yeah right. And I was explaining this to him and he was explaining over me that he had already spoken to her and told her that she was only to ask one time. I told him that's really not a big deal to ask but if a dog is clearly marked service dog why do you even need to ask one time? He just responded that it was store policy. I said that's fine I said put the Discrimination this employee put on my daughter-in-law was uncalled for and he said I already spoke to her what more do you want me to do and I replied I want you to talk to all your employees and train them properly because they are not obviously trained in ADA laws. And when I had called the ADA prior I was advised that a person who discriminates against someone can be fined up to $5,000 and the store or company the disabled person is at can be fined as well. I advised him of this and also advised him that I would be calling the American Disabilities Act to ask them that even if you have a service dog vest if they are to be approached and ask if it's a service dog when they are clearly marked. It makes no sense to me. But for my own peace of mind and because I always like to know what the laws are so I can follow them properly I always check so I will be calling the American Disabilities Act to find out this information. read more

I was excited when the store first opened up and thought, "Finally" a big market store in Soledad. Since then, its been a disappointment as far as merchandise. Employees for the most part are nice and friendly. The produce is terrible. On 2 occasions bananas spoiled literally over night. Produce manager said its because of the gas that is used to preserve them before transport to and from stores. I never had that problem from other stores. Meat was terrible so now I just buy from Bingos market wherenits always fresh. I've bought the same items from Foodsco as I did from Nob Hill in Salinas as a test,, and paid less at Nob Hill. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? They also never keep up stock and store is usually messy. I dont recommend this store. Soledad residents, im sorry, but if you can, drive a little farther for better quality. read more

It's clean most of the time, they have a basic variety of food. The produce is just okay. The prices are cheap, but the quality follows the price. As a resident of the town, I only wish we had some other choice. Whatever you do, do not go here on a Sunday. You'll be stuck there FOREVER. I am pretty much a regular in this grocery store, it's extremely convenient as a mother of two, to have it all there, from hair product to produce and friendly staff (some more than others) Everyone is extremely welcoming and helpful. 3 stars due to the produce. Meat is always fresh and even more yummy once I get to cooking it. I've never had a problem waiting to be helped at the meat department, by one of their friendly employees. This is a warehouse looking place which makes me long for Safeway (and I don't like Safeway). I guess the prices are discounted, but not all that much in my opinion. The meat here is not very good. Veggies are a little above average. They do have a good selection of items (it is a large store for this area). If you have the time, I'd recommend driving south to King City Safeway, or north to Salinas where you have a full range of grocery stores. read more

Foods co provides a warehouse store with giant carts. The clerks are fast and often once you are paying for your food you may be in the way of the next customer. I like foods co for the variety of products they sell that I cant get in greenfield or other stores in Soledad. But, there are people in the parking lot just sitting in cars. someone has peered into my vehicle, I get approached by hobos asking for "donations" and just recently someone took my purse and took all my money but left all the cards.The store did put he purse they said in a safe and I was able to retrieve it. Both managers I spoke to were polite and very concerned about this incident. I appreciate their interest. read more

I used to come here all the time as i kid, my dad used to work here & ive grown to have alot of respect for this place. Im visiting back in town & i was excited to come back to my childhood grocery store, unfortunately a very unflattering man that goes by the name of "martin" is in my opinion a sad excuse for an employee, as i walk in to the store he immediately called me out for having my service dog with me, he asked me to leave bc he assumed my dog was an "emotional support" animal (which is definitely not the case) but very calmly i walked out to take a picture of the pet policy & i came back in bc i had my back up & Ofcourse as soon as i came back in he called us out, after i specifically went over the rule & showed him the pet policy he still refused to let us in, i dont even use yelp but that was one of the most disgusting interactions ive ever had, i will be calling the store so this matter can be looked upon. As a grocery store you should be letting your guests in with open arms, not pushing them away for having service animals. Today I experienced the worst costumer service! I tried purchasing a gift card and the cashier lady kept telling me it wouldn't go through that something was wrong with the gift cards and she ran my card 3 times and charges me a total of $75 and kept telling me that the gift card was not getting the money so I left frustrated and just told her forget it not taking the gift card and when I get in the car I check my online banking and the lady did charge me 3 time for those times she tried running my card and so I went back inside to get my money back and she said to come back tomorrow because the manager couldn't help me at the moment and I told her if she was quick to charge me that money I want my money back now! Not tomorrow. Worst costumer service. And the manager for not helping out at ALL. Just lazy looking people. She probably kept the 2 gift cards she scanned for me. Stupid lady. Possibly the worst grocery store I have had to shop in. It is grossly mismanaged. As a 20-year grocery store manager, I can attest to that. Unfortunately, it is the only supermarket in town which helps to explain it's situation as there is no competition. The store is often not stocked by 10: am ( 3 hours after opening) which leaves the produce and meat departments short of items. They stock the shelves during the day which leave pallets and racks of goods in the middle of the aisles and at times this is hazardous to the customers. My wife can attest to that. I should point out that the previous management team was considerably better. read more

Great customer service by Jazmin from the meat dept. was very helpful and helped me get my meat so that I could be on my way as soon as possible, also noticed that she was really great with all the customers that came before me, always greeting them and me with a smile, she was also bilingual which was really convenient seeing as I was with my mother who only speaks Spanish, she was really patient and kind while trying to help my mother, the meat quality was great, would buy meat here again, if all the workers are as helpful and cheerful as Jazmin. 10/10 customer service. read more

The store is big so I usually tried to avoid it. On Sundays it's super busy and I tend to just want to grab my things and go. I don't really post reviews but there's a girl in the meat department, Jazmin, and she's always cheerful and helpful. The kind of person that will go an extra mile and be patient without making me feel bad for taking forever, or give suggestions of what type of meat to get for meals and stuff. Pricing structure is disappointing because they have literally no competition within 5 miles. The store is always clean, the people are always friendly, great selection of authentic Mexican foods, etc. It just hurts to know that I could technically save $$ by driving quite a distance to another store and would probably have better products also. read more

This is my local market, and it meets our needs quite well. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, especially in the produce, bakery, and meat department. The cashiers are very nice and respectful. As far as some of the negative reviews. . . well, if you want Safeway, go there. Foodsco is a nice, small town market. I do agree that its most crowded day is Sundays, but I have noticed that they are now staffing more cashiers to accommodate that. It's not the store's fault, after all, that so many families head there on Sundays; for many of our residents, it's their only day off, so it's shopping day. If you know this in advance and don't like crowds, well, then don't go there on Sunday. Overall, it's a good place to shop. read more
