Dr. Hughes is really good. He's very thorough and friendly. He take's good care of my feet and I have been very happy with the service. Sometimes a bit of a wait but I would recommend him and their other physicians. They recently moved into a bigger office which is nice office and the staff is friendly. read more

I seen Christine Tumele for foot pain, weekly for a month. Each week she gave me a new diagnosis without being certain of what was wrong, she treated me for gout one week, a stress fracture the following week, and after 3 weeks I developed a huge lump on the top of my foot and still am without a diagnosis, any pain relief, or help. Did not care about the pain I was in. Told me.. if your in that much pain than put your boot back on. Referring to the cam walker boot she prescribed for the stress fracture, and even after ruling out stress fracture that was her snarky remark to control my pain. I feel she earned her medical degree from McDonald's so therefore I'm going to a different podiatrist that cares about actually treating her patients. read more

I was terrified about getting my feet looked at and taken care of because of a problem I had years ago at a different facility, but dr huges made me feel so comfortable and he is so gentle, and makes you feel calm while getting procedures done. read more

I had an appointment here with Dr. Vogt to remove my ingrown toenails. I was more than pleased with my experience. I have a severe phobia of needles and was really nervous about the numbing shots. Dr Vogt was excellent in reassuring me that the procedure was very simple and not going to hurt. Was more than helpful and would definitely recommend making an appointment with him. read more

First visit Dr and staff all so pleasant and helped me feel comfortable with my old man malady. Have been to other Dr in the area but this office treated my problem with the utmost's in professionalism as well as treating people with dignity and respect. History

Established in 1995.

For 20 years, Foot & Ankle Specialists, P.C. has been delivering the very best quality podiatric medical care in the Monroe County area. Over time our practice has grown and expanded but one thing has stayed the same: we are dedicated to giving each and every patient the personal time and attention needed to ensure an accurate diagnosis and the proper treatment for your foot and ankle issues. Our board certified podiatrists, Dr. Scott E. Hughes, Dr. Greg P. Vogt, Dr. Christine I. Tumele, and Dr. Matthew W.E. Lewin are skilled practitioners at treating patients of all ages. We offer the latest surgical and non-surgical treatments and emphasize prevention and healthy habits. Our service is second to none. We have two convenient locations, Monroe and Lambertville, and offer early morning, after work, and Saturday morning appointments. We also make house calls. Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Scott E. H.

Dr. Scott E. Hughes earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1991. He conducted his post-graduate training at New Haven Foot Surgeons where he gained experience in hospitals associated with Yale University Medical School. He was part of a large group practice in northern Michigan before opening Foot & Ankle Specialists, P.C. in Monroe in 1995. Dr. Hughes is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics Dr. Hughes is the only Certified Master Surgeon of the Hyprocure Sinus Tarsi Implant in the Monroe area. He is President of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association and has served on the Michigan Licensing Board for Podiatric Medicine and Surgery since 2009. Dr. Hughes lives in Monroe with his wife, Kari, and their five children. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an active member of the community, proudly serving in the Monroe Rotary Club.

I didn't have insurance, but it didn't seem to cost too much money to go there. When everything was all said and done, my bill was $880. For comparison, my one trip to the ER cost me $1,200 for basically an x-ray and a soft splint to hold me over. At Frenchtown Orthopedics, I had a dozen x-rays, two casts, and several visitations. Every time I went there, I was in and out in less than an hour. Melonakos recommended I get surgery on my foot since it was broken pretty bad and wasn't healing as fast, but I couldn't afford it. It took a long time for it to heal and be pain-free, but there was nothing I could do about it. With the $880 price tag when I was done, they gave me very reasonable repayment options: pretty much pay what I can within a reasonable time. They didn't add late fees or hound me to make absurd payments. I paid it off within a year. A few years later, I broke my toes and needed to see a foot specialist, but unfortunately, I didn't live in the area at the time.

Not too much for my tingling and numbness but it was worth a try. I was glad to have the experience of acupuncture but it may help more for pain. I would suggest giving it a try but make no guarantees but every case may be different.

Everything is transparent, sanitary, and affordable. If you've had bad experiences at other similar type places, these guys are definitely going to restore your faith in their profession.
