What an unprofessional and painful experience. I bought a gift certificate for my gf for Valentines Day. I was pressured to upgrade which I did and was sarcastically thanked when I didn't leave a tip for the purchase... So the weekend after I take my gf for the 70 minute massage and get one for myself as well. Again pressured to upgrade. This time I did not. My massage was extremely painful and not relaxing at all except for the hot stones. I could hear my gf having issues with pain and requesting her masseuse to ease up which she didn't and was swapped with a different one, who was slightly better. Before checking out my gf said not to tip for her part. We were asked how it was, we explained it was painful and were told we should explain up front what pressure we want next time. Beware of this place, this is not a typical American massage place where you will be lubricated with a lot of oil on your body. This place is a real massage place where they work hard on your body. Anybody who cannot handle deep tissue massage, don't come here. You won't enjoy this place. I have been coming to this place for more than 10 years, even before the current management. I personally like the current management much much better. They keep the place very clean and they recruit great therapists. The appointment process is always easy and they are very accommodating. Many people complaint about tips, I noticed that those complainers are really cheap kind of people. For example for a 70 minute message costing them $50, they will give just $3 tip. Come on!!! These people are very abusive and unappreciative to the massage therapists. Massaging people for 70 minutes need a lot of energy. It is very tiring. We need to have compassion to others. If you are not willing to tip, don't get a massage (you will not die by not getting massage). Massage is a luxury thing, for those who have extra money. By the way, if you do not want to give good tip, go to a mall and use that massage chair. There are many in Woodfield Mall. You do not need to give anything! THIS IS NOT A SAFE BUSINESS FOR WOMEN My sister was groped and assaulted while we were in for an 120 minute massage this evening. While face down during the upper-body portion of the massage, the masseuse purposefully lifted her in a way that was positioned to allow him to aggressively fondle with, massage and feel around the left side of her breast/chest. With pants rolled up during the massage, the man also put his hands underneath her pants to feel and pleasure herself more. Out of panic, when he moved on to the right side of her body and attempted to feel her breast there, she tensed & weighed herself down in order to keep herself safe. After she visibly tensed herself, he went on to ask -- laughing at times -- 15-20 times, about every 30 seconds: "You okay?", "This okay?", "Good?" "You like?", obviously catching on to her being uncomfortable and as if asking this would somehow cover up or make what he did acceptable. The two masseuses were also speaking Mandarin while this was happening and who knows what they were talking about while this was happening to my sister. Feeling extremely unsafe during all of this -- face-down, vulnerable, exposed, and during a massage -- her first response, as would have been for many, was to not escalate the situation while a man was on top of her. After the massage ended the masseuse took a while to leave the room, presumably waiting to get a look at her once up, and very shaken and broken down she explained all this to me and we immediately went to the front desk to escalate once it was safe to do so, telling the manager how she was extremely uncomfortable, felt unsafe, and that her breast was touched by this man without her consent. The response of the management was this: "He probably just bumped into it on accident," "Believe he did not do it" and "Maybe ask for a female masseuse next time." What type of response is this??? He didn't just "bump into it on accident." In no world does any massage call for contextually getting near the chest area and when getting a massage, you are not consenting to be grabbed by the masseuse anywhere you want. We've been to many massages and are rational in understanding that sometimes "Accidents" really do happen, but this was done on purpose. As a women, you know by heart what the difference is between an accident and someone purposefully groping and caressing your body. "Ask for a female masseuse next time," invalidating her and making it seem as if it was her fault for not doing so. As if she expected this to happen with any masseuse in any massage parlour where physical boundaries and safety should be a #1 priority -- this shouldn't have happened with any masseuse man or woman. The defence of the manager of this man is completely unacceptable. We have been coming here for years but it seems this parlour openly defends & hires gropists and invalidates customers who speak up about unsafe experiences, even when the feeling of being violated by someone is something extremely serious and scarring. EDIT: This morning we received a phone call from a different manager explaining that they "Just hired the man and didn't know him very well." How can you let someone near anyone's body without checking their background, especially in such an intimate occupation? After a long flight, a long day at work and a kink in my neck I took on to Yelp to find a massage place by my hotel, I came across Foot Finesse and not being familiar with this type of establishment I thought $28 was too good to pass up. Well, It's an ok deal, I didn't have to wait and they promptly showed me to a dimly lit open room with a few other beds and other people getting massaged. I had a male masseur who was pleasant. This is a fully clothed body massage, some parts were just ok some parts were uncomfortable and not effective at all, it was somewhat rough, there wasn't much kneading, and most of it felt abrupt with some hitting and light pounding rather than massaging, the foot massage was good, but I could have totally passed on the body massage part. I like firm hard deep massages where knots are worked out even if it hurts, but the technique here was just hitting or shiatsu style firm with out having any rhythm or technique. I thought it was a bit add that they brought a bucket with hot water and a trash bag for me to dip my feet in while I was having the body massage part, the presentation wasn't appealing, but I guess that's what you get for $28 bucks. Also, I wasn't thrilled with putting my face into the opening of the chair once I was flipped over even though there was a towel put down around the opening, I just didn't feel it was very sanitary. Personally, I wouldn't go again. It wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped, they didn't work my neck like it needed. I noticed there was a change in customer service since they switched to new management. They are definitely more rude than the old management. I went there 6 months ago and told them which massage I wanted and ended up receiving the most expensive massage on the menu. I assumed at that time it was due to a language barrier so I didn't make a big deal of it. They also told me increase my tip to 40% after giving me the wrong massage. I ignored this issue. During my most recent visit there, the person at the front desk insisted that I receive my massage by a male therapist even though I expressed my discomfort several times and told her I would wait for the female to be available. I briefly agreed to the male therapist after she continued to persist. The male therapist then asked me to remove my shirt during the massage even though the woman at the front desk said he wouldn't. I stopped the massage to wait for the female therapist. The massage itself was fine so I gave a tip to the therapist directly. While paying for the massage, the woman at the front desk looked very angry at me for disrupting the massage and then told me I should have tipped even more. I have been coming here since they opened. Management has changed throughout the years and of course with inflation, prices have gone up. There is an array of menu options on different time lengths, and add-ons for your massage. I definitely recommend getting the hot stone and oil. Definitely make sure you have cash for the tip. And please tip generously! The rooms are not private, there is maybe two or three beds in each room. Rooms are divided by curtains. I generally like to wear shorts or loose fitting pants. You don't get undressed for this massage, but they will push your pant legs up to soak your legs in water . So nothing too tight around your calves or ankles. If you do get the hot oil and stone, add on, when you are laying on your stomach, you will need to pull your shirt up or take your shirt off. Just a fair warning for the ladies. I usually wear a bra that can unclasp in the back, so my masseuse can really go to town on my back. Don't wear a sports bra! It just totally gets in the way. I'll enjoy a very powerful and deep massage. The last time I went, an older man did my massage, and he really let me have it!! Lololol I know that sounds crazy, but it was one of the best massages I ever had. He was contorting me in crazy positions. Stretching me and picking me up at certain points. It was wild, I had to stop myself from laughing a few times. And I didn't notice, my friend, who was on the table next to me, his masseuse was laughing at my masseuse, and trying to hold it in. So I know my guy was doing something crazy. But I was not mad at it! You just have to be open for the experience. I left that massage feeling almost drunk because I was in such a state of euphoria. I'm not one to bash any place; I pride myself on reviews that are fair and balanced, giving honest and constructive feedback. That said, I need to be completely honest about this place. I was not pleased. In fact, I was in a state of shock for a few days regarding my experience. I came here for a bridal celebration for one of my dear friends. It was me and 5 other girls. 3 were cool with their services and found them "relaxing" and 3 were not -we found it too rough So, off the bat, it's a 50-50 shot at the service you will receive. Here is what I *think* happened. My friend Wendy made the appointment and did a great job following up and confirming at least twice after her initial phone call. We were told that all 6 of us would be in the same room for the service at the same time. I was not sure how this place would be-in some places it is a more open environment, where you can talk to one another, so I think that was the plan. When we arrived, the woman at the front desk told us that she had to split us up into different rooms and have the service 15 min apart. We were like "OK" but admittedly, talked among ourselves and were a bit confused because Wendy had confirmed the reservation as a group of 6 twice. We were not disrespectful or upset, just legitimately confused as to how this happened. I questioned the lady and tried to understand what happened but she didn't really understand me. So we were like, "OK, cool. Whatever, let's just do this." When I got my massage, off the bat, the guy was doing some weird moves I had not experienced before and some were painful. Overall, I thought, "Oh, he is just a little stronger. No biggie." However, there were some moves near the last 15 minutes when I seriously thought he was doing it on purpose to be rude. I actually, at one moment, got kinda nervous -you know, you are in that position that you don't want to be "that guy" and complain and embarrass your friends, but I felt like getting up and walking out. -I was that taken aback! He pushed so hard on my back that my neck was going into that little hole and pressing and I felt like I was being choked. Another move he lifting my upper body off the bench but it strained my back. At that point, I was like (to myself) "Please let this be over as soon as possible." I have never had such thoughts during a massage! Seriously, I was really freaked out, but tried to be cool with my friends there. Admittedly, we had a good laugh about it afterward and I did tip to not cause any drama. I was even further freaked out when I was super sore for about 2 days afterward. If you look at my reviews, I go to a lot of massage places. I like a deep tissue massage but can tell the difference between a professional deep tissue massage that is therapeutic and leaves soreness and what I experienced here. This guy was either untrained / certified or was super unethical in what he did to me. I really couldn't help but think it was on purpose -some weird retaliation based on the perception that we were "difficult" or complaining. I have to say, I did get some solace reading other Yelp reviews, knowing that I wasn't "crazy" or experienced something unique -there seems to be a lot of shady behavior at this place regarding overall service, rough massages and even tipping expectations. Buyer beware -there are other places you can go for a decent, cheap massage and not get beat up like I did (check my other reviews for recommendations)! I will NEVER return to this establishment. I am very grateful that I was not seriously injured. $28 for a whole body massage? wow. I know they're regularly $35 but I still don't know how they do it. I felt like a noodle after-wards... I love that they start with a foot soak and that I didn't have to get undressed, get dressed after, etc. You're also not drenched in oil while getting the massage so no need for a shower after! You're in, massaged, pay and get out. I know they're called "foot finess" but they do your whole body. If your feet gets easily ticklish like my boyfriend's, then you might want to consider asking the massage therapist to forgo that part... I just heard a lot of huffing and puffing next to me. The place is dingy, not very private: As i wake in, I felt like I am at those porn location and about to film a porn videos, remind of those "red" light district of Amsterdam. Not exactly clean nor sanitized. 2. The "massage" tables: - are not properly in the right height. they should be atleast waist in height, no adjustable head rest either. Instead the tables are knee height and again, no adjustable head rest, just a made up handkerchief or a towel folded up in circles to reassembles a head rest. 3. massage therapist: - In my experienced with alot of massage therapist over the years, I have a what you call......a lot of knots and have a "sweetspot" when it comes to my back. a real, good massage therapist likes and know how to work those knots, that chinese guy doing the massages, didnt know what to do with them, avoided them all together and his massage technique are hard and rough. More than less, I felt the massage was too rough like they were breaking my bones. Today I needed a massage so bad so I called in for an appointment at 3:30p. The place seems a little run down than what I remember. I was told the person answered my phone didn't put my name down, and I had to wait. I asked how long.
