Overpriced, unprofessional, they charge whenever they want for unnecessary de'icing, whether it snows or not, and they charge $30 more than their competition for each individual snow shovelling. They also I dist on "early bird" payment for snow service in the summer -- $500 which gets you absolutely nothing! They are also hard to reach by phone and don't answer calls very quickly. You might consider the more reasonably priced options -- Kinder, and much more trustworthy elsewhere! read more

I was a long time user of Foot soldiers. I hired them initially to handle the snow for my mom when I left the city. Since then, she moved and passed away, but I was still using them to handle our two properties. The first incident was following the first snow. No one showed up and I had to call. They finally sent someone out hours later, stating that they were overwhelmed. When the person came out, the job that they did was definitely not acceptable, but I chalked it up to them having a new system and I was assured the issues had been resolved. Which leads us to the second incident. I was sent a notification two days before the snow hit that I was confirmed to get my properties services at 8:30am for the morning of the snow. At 3pm, my tenant calls and asks if anyone is coming. I call and they assure me that someone is coming, but they are running behind schedule because of the snow. Maybe it's just me, but it's literally your job to work on the days that it snows... how is it that you are overwhelmed? We all knew it was going to be a bad storm days in advance. Anyway, hours later, no one comes. I try to call, but they are closed I text, and get no response. Then... worst part is I get a message that the job was competed at 9pm, but it wasn't. They never showed up. I emailed them saying that no one showed up and the job was marked as done... here's the response I got "Hi, we have some photos that we will send. There was alot of snow and the shovel did a walking b=path... not as wide as we typically do. But it will be sent in the morning after review by supervisor. The was under an emergency ordinance travel was tough and we did and are doing our best. " If they called, emailed or text you, then they spoke to me. I never heard from them. This is the picture I send them of the job they said was done. Had to call my cousin to come out and remove the snow at midnight. What a disappointment. read more

At the bequest of Mr. Shakur, I am submitting this recommendation as I have intimate and extensive knowledge of what Foot Soldiers value is to the community, me and my family's health, and their commitment to delivering the highest quality service. My mother and father taught me not to just strive to be excellent but to embody excellence in all I seek to do in the service of others. They alone, introduced me, by their example, of what it means to be a servant-leader. Foot Soldiers' leadership and execution in the performance of their duties (exterior sweeping, garbage removal, snow removal, interior sweeping & mopping, removal of interior and yard debris, creation and maintenance of curbside and yard beautification) embodies excellence and focuses on the service of others. I have been a customer for more than 15 years (4-family) and I have further engaged their services for 3 additional properties either under contract or ad-hoc as needed services. One contract was just executed in November, 2022 for an Aunt approaching 90 years of age. They have become an integral component in the success and continuity of my personal and family businesses. Their attention to detail when leading through all of the aforementioned tasks is quite frankly astounding! Not only is their work ethic superior to the competition, but it is also their desire and drive to maintain a competitive advantage above all other companies performing similar tasks, notwithstanding challenging, oft times crippling, weather elements. Similar, because I have yet to find a company that does EVERYTHING they do and do it with excellence. Their systems (APP) for notifying the customer throughout the process of services, capturing data to verify exemplary work was performed, infinite knowledge of the sanitation process and weather conditions are second to none and unquestionably priceless. In fact, I have had several instances where summonses were issued against my property for "failure to remove snow", "failure to provide clear walking area" after a Nor'easter!!, "large accumulation of matted bottles/newspapers/pieces of paper/wrappers/etc.", "no attempt made to sand, salt or shovel path for pedestrians...etc." and WITHOUT FAIL, Foot Soldiers provided me with all the documentation to defend the integrity of my property. In each instance, Foot Soldiers supplied me with guidance AND SIX (6) before and after photos that visually detailed that not only was the work completed, but the timestamp verified the reporting enforcement officer was not truthful about the scenario they were describing. For one such instance the judge noted that the only property the officer could have been referring to was ACROSS THE STREET!! I would be remiss not to mention the cost savings this amounted to; in excess of $1100 (that's right, eleven hundred dollars!!) THEIR PROCESS: 1. An APP to track schedule and work in progress and completion of work 2. Calcium chloride pellets pre-treatment 12-16 hours prior to snowfall to disrupt the bonding process between snow and the surface 3. Then snow clearing NOT WITH METAL SHOVELS or you damage the brownstone finish 4. Clear a path in the front yard and to the trash area 5. 75% of sidewalk clearance 6. Calcium chloride pellets post-treatment once snow is removed 7. Invoice with detailed description 8. Provide 5-6 before and after photos with date and time stamp to ensure work was performed up to par and use for potential summonses/lawsuits (VERY IMPORTANT) including stairways, front yard, sidewalk, walkways, and a front-facing profile shot of the property (including as much of the property as possible) 9. Customer rating system It is without reservation that I fully endorse Foot Soldiers and their pricing! In good faith, I am committing to an additional $1,000.00 for this winter season to maintain the peace I have enjoyed for over 15 years. I am well aware of the rising costs in resources and insurances associated with sustaining a business like this and I am not paying anywhere near what other companies would bill me and those companies do NOT provide the services Foot Soldiers provides. We used their online booking service, received an email confirmation with a name a phone number of the person who would shovel the walk and steps , and then nobody showed up. When we called because no one had come, they said there were 100 people ahead of us and they were sorry the online site made it seem like they were confirmed. read more

I had an amazing experience with this company. Their level of professionalism from the offset had me sold! Of course I called the day of the snow storm and guess what they were able to take me on as a client. They were new to my area but didn't fret over the location as I know they are expanding areas. The paperwork was done with ease, all electronically. They were true to their words when they told me that after the snow stops they would come out and begin shoveling, 4:30AM their crew was outside of my home.
