I've been to one location where I didn't feel quite as welcomed, but honestly, that's the beauty of having choices--you can find another location that works better for you. I also love the atmosphere. There are people of all ages working toward their own health and fitness goals, and there's something motivating about being surrounded by a community of people who are simply trying to become stronger and healthier. No matter your age, you're welcome here. The Cameron Family YMCA in Santee is also a great option for families, especially with the aquatic facilities. There's something for everyone, whether you're swimming, doing cardio, taking a class, or hitting the weights. And speaking of weights... I'm a weight-head! You'll probably find me on the leg press or somewhere doing strength training most of the time. Whether I'm working out with someone I know or getting my workout in by myself, I always leave feeling like I did something good for ME. That's what I appreciate most about the YMCA. It doesn't have to feel like, "Oh gosh...not another gym day!" Sometimes it can actually feel like treating yourself. As several other parents have already warned, this organization had no warmth and was completely unwilling to issue refunds even though it was not our fault. If you try to ask for one, expect to be shamed, argued with, and stonewalled. Unless you're literally being rushed to the hospital or deployed overseas, there's no reason they'll bend for you. They'll gladly pocket the $150‑plus registration fees. Our interactions with multiple employees were especially disheartening. Communication was cold and combative, seemingly designed to make the process as painful as possible. Prospective families should be aware that the league does not accept in‑person birth certificates (Not shown anywhere on their site); they force you to upload the document to their online system and then trust that the child's digital safety will be protected. (Ironically, the system is known to have bugs that let you sidestep this requirement entirely, yet they still expect your trust...) We were disgusted by the lack of care and transparency and if there's any positives here, we're just relieved we won't be tied to this league for years to come. Enjoy the money we needed, hopefully it was worth it Crusaders.

When I raised concerns, Modesto stated that he "doesn't care about bad reviews or losing parents," which I found very disappointing.

On the day of the event, the staff decorated the waiting room and even left a little present bag for my son which I thought was a great touch. It wouldn't provide much shade at noon time. There are poop bag dispensers all around the fence line and there are trash cans. They have some creative agility items as it is a bunch of stumps placed next to each other. The small dog park has a lot of grass and the big dog park is mostly dirt except around the edges.
