Every single staff member I've interacted with has been friendly and accommodating. I'm a wheelchair user and find the office far more navigable than most medical settings. Plus they have SUPER sturdy dental chairs with arms that go down on BOTH sides, which is a rare find -- and absolutely great for higher-weight patients. I can't think of a single way they could improve - they even offer a membership that saves some $$.

I was going to get Invisalign but when I asked too many questions about the contract,…read morethey refused to perform the procedure on me and refunded my "non-refundable" deposit (likely because they were worried I would sue them if the procedure failed). There were many inconsistencies between what the dentist had told me to my face vs what was written in the contract. For example, they told me to wear the aligners for 18 hours a day minimum, but the contract said 22 hours. The contract also said I had to wear the aligners for 1 year minimum but the dentist told me 5 months. The contract would have forced me to allow Invisalign access to my medical and dental records for educational and research purposes, which I did not want, and the dentist said there was no way to edit or alter the contract. I did not question her on this and I tried to move on to my next question. She wouldn't let me ask any more questions. The dentist felt that I didn't trust her simply because I wanted clarification on some questions regarding the Invisalign contract. That is correct, I do not trust a dentist who is unwilling to answer a few questions about her own contract. (Plus she didn't have the courage to come tell me herself, she had her assistant deliver all this information). Seems fishy to me. I will be telling my family and friends to drop her.

From checking in to the exam, and until I leave I always feel very welcome. I have horrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist but am at ease here. Then, Dr. Johnston swooped in like a teeth fixing superhero and saved the day. I am sooo happy with the results. He somehow added onto the partial teeth that I had left and made them look like nothing ever happened. Then, we did the clear braces thingy and shifted the teeth to their proper place. Plus, Dr. Johnston is just a cool person to be around and made me feel comfortable (and I hate going to the dentist). I don't recommend motorcycle accidents...skip that part...and I absolutely recommend Dr. Johnston to make your smile perfect.

Instead I had an…read moreabsolutely wild call with Tiffany at the desk the day of my appointment for an exam (Mon) where she berated me for not returning their Friday 11:37 am phone call by 2pm before they closed early for the weekend. I told her I was at work, but that was not a good enough reason apparently? She was calling to repeatedly flat out insist that my insurance was not through the company on the card I was holding in my hand, but was through HMA instead and that I needed to call them and sort this out. I repeatedly insisted that I had never heard of HMA and that it wasn't my insurance and that I was holding my insurance card in my hand and I was pretty sure it was correct. No, it was incorrect, she "wasn't trying to be argumentative" but it was absolutely incorrect and I needed to call my dentist to get my correct insurance information or I needed to call my real insurance company HMA and figure it out or I could have this insurance company that I thought was my insurance company call her and give her my information. But no, she wouldn't be trying to call the company whose card I was holding, she didn't have time before lunch. So it turns out that, yes, the card I was holding is in fact the card of my insurance provider and, yes, my dentist does in fact have my correct insurance on file and yes, they did send it to her, they just told her it could be looked up ON the HMA website. It's also the same, correct, information that I had to give them before I was able to book an appointment at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the first place. I'm really not sure how we ended up here at all. Tiffany called back to blame it all on my dentist but I let her know I'd booked with another oral surgeon instead and cancelled my appointment at AOMS. I get that misunderstandings happen, but to be argued with like that and have someone absolutely refuse to hear me out was a huge red flag for me. If that's how patients are spoken to and treated at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - somewhere that practices sedation dentistry and actively advertises for anxious and phobic patients - if that's how Dr. Rajagopal & Dr. Savage conduct their business I can't have any confidence that I would be treated any differently while someone is literally operating on my face. (Jokes a little on them because I fully knew that I'm nearing the max on my dental insurance and would likely be paying cash for the procedure itself, I just wanted my dental insurance to cover what it could on the exam while I saved in the meantime. Congrats to the Dr. that will now be receiving a cash payment though!)

So I would say their work is of the highest quality there is. Just excellent. That whole place runs like a well oiled machine. They make sure everything happens how it's supposed to. They take care of everything and think of everything. Sincerely. At 62 years old, I have had a lot of dental work in my life. This place and this guy are the best there is OR among the others who are BEST. He's at the top of his game. I just can't say enough good about these people. They have a sliding scale so its not too expensive (relatively) and they allow me to pay on a payment plan. They're usually pretty quick and they're always sure too make sure I'm comfortable. After going there for months, I asked if we could choose our own dentist out of their "doctors" and they told me yes. They have like 5-6 dentists working out of there and I chose one that was recommended to us from a friend going there. My next visit there they tried to substitute a different dentist. I declined feeling they should have at least called me the morning of the appointment to tell my "my dentist" couldn't come in that morning. They don't want you to choose a dentist, they want to control you and have you accept their choice of a dentist or hygienist for that appointment that day. I noticed that they also have lots of hygienists and you seldom get the same one. Seemed like there was also lots of sickness in there every visit too, always lots of hacking and coughing going on by patients and workers. Billing was always confusing, prices usually misquoted and costing more than we were told it'd be too. I never saw any professional medical office with such controlling demands of their patients. Stay clear of that place.
