I was very skeptical entering here after reading a bad review and sat in my car at first but didn't really want to try and find another place and I like that they responded to their reviews. I'm so glad I stayed. Michael's hands are so strong and really got into the tight areas of my shoulders and sore areas of my feet. I couldn't believe I was only there an hour because of the time I felt was spent on my tension area. Beware of dealing with Foothill Sunshine Massage. They are a bait and switch operation. Promising one price fee and then adding surprise surcharges that you did not ask for when you pay at the end. They try to guilt you into these extra charges, but it's really a form of fraud. When I called to set up an appointment, I explicitly asked how much a 60 minute body massage cost, and was told it was $50.00. Upon arriving, they showed me a price list that it would be $56.00, so they already lied over the phone to get me to set up an appointment. We went ahead with the appointment and the massage was solid. Nothing extraordinary, but very decent. However at the end when we were going to pay, they told us that our bill was now $66 per person because they did deep tissue massage - which they did not ask us permission to do, nor did we ask for it either. Plus of course, they wanted a big tip on top of that outrageous extra charge. We had to argue about 10 minutes while they pressured us to pay the extra fees. Finally we just paid the base charge plus a small tip and stormed out the door. Needless to say, while other customers may just go along with this kind of nonsense because they are embarrassed to cause a scene or call out the masseuses, what they are practicing is fraud. You should not support a business that will lie to you as a customer and add on phantom charges without your consent. Please beware about doing business with these people. read more

I think as the pandemic took a toll on several businesses, every massage parlor I've been to has increased their prices. It's unfair to give a poor review due to increased price. Back to the service: this is a small massage parlor and it's nothing fancy, but you get a good massage. The masseuse had such strength to work on my back, even after I saw she just worked on another client before. My knots softened a bit. I carry a lot of tension so I know it's not easy to work on my back. Overall, I felt great after. They don't have too many staff working, so just be aware that not all walk in are accepted. I have been coming here even before I moved to the area. They have been consistent w the level of massage I receive every time I come. May it be a short quick foot reflexology or a full body massage, they always deliver. Unfortunately my second massage was very disappointing, started out fine and receptionist took my masseuse to work on someone else and she took over . This disruption, she was still answering the phone ( 5 times) while massaging my big toe with one hand during each phone call! She was digging her elbow in my spine, not muscle. Got the combo massage for an hour. Didn't need to make a reservation. Showed up and was immediately seen but I probably got lucky because there aren't that many beds inside. Workers speak English and I believe I heard Mandarin. The massage itself was pretty good. They wrap curtains around the area once they get into the oil massage. First off this is one of those open rooms that are separated by curtains so you can HEAR PEOPLE TALKING AND WALKING IN AND OUT. Also, although the owner said they changed the sheets I did not see them do so so I'm questioning that. My massage started off with thee roughest head massage ever. I mean so damn hard, I was grimacing and she got the hint only to revert back to the hard massage. Told her again and again. She finally moved onto my arms and she was "massaging " so soft it was doing absolutely nothing. I told her it was too soft and she did the same on my feet! and by that time I had given up and felt even more tense. I cut my one hour massage to 30 minutes and the owner tried to come in and salvage the massage but it was still awful. Not worth the price and I am perplexed at all the good reviews. Stopped by on a Wednesday morning around 11 and was the only one there. They took me back right away. I did hear someone else come in and they had her come back an hour later, so it's a toss up if they can get you back as soon as you walk in. Like others have said, the menu has changed, they only take cash right now, and you can hear everything while getting your massage. My masseur was Jack. He was great! He was attentive in asking if I had any problem areas or injuries on my body. I knew this wasn't going to be like the massages you get from some spa and it would be more of a "pain for relief" type of massage. I've had chronic tension in my upper trap and neck so I needed him to get down in there and work. He kept asking me if the pressure was too much which I appreciated, it wasn't for the faint of heart but I'm also a wuss! lol. The amount of tension he was able to release was incredible. I am used to getting worked on whether it's a masseuse or massage therapist or a chiropractor, so deep pressure massages are what I need for my tight muscles. I actually came here more than 5 years ago and had completely forgotten that this was the spot where my female masseuse gave me a horrible massage because her pressure was too light and she would continuously slap the area when I told her she wasn't digging deep enough in the area. When I gave her a $10 tip because the massage was so bad, She was so rude and told me that it wasn't enough that she snatched a $20 from my hand and walked off with $30. Fast forward in time, this same female masseuse is still working here and luckily I got a different masseuse this time because I was going to immediately request for another person. You can choose if you want a male or female masseuse. I got the 60 min with a complimentary stone massage ($50) with the male masseuse, Mike. Even though he didn't ask me how I liked my pressure, he really dug deep and gave me a full deep pressure massage. I think I may have fallen asleep for a short period. I was initially nervous realizing that this was the spot where I got the worst massage of my life, Mike was so great that i didn't have to stress out about it. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures but will when I come back again. My BFF came too and she really liked her female masseuse, Wendy. She will be requesting for her the next time she is here. I never caught her name but beware for the female masseuse with glasses. She typically runs the cashier position and answers phones. After she massages you, she will expect a very large tip and may even snatch it out of your hand like what she did me. There's several parking spaces in the small lot. I would definitely give this place two thumbs up. I was choosing between 60 mins-$50 or 90 mins-$70 body oil & hot stone massage. I was glad I got the 90 mins - it went by all too quickly. Throughout, the massage was strong the way I like it. It hurts so much, yet it feels so good and relaxing. By the end of it, I felt a lot of my knots had melted away. This was one of the better massages I had in a very long time. Nowadays most places do the elbow / forearm thing where they may use a lot of hard pressure but they don't really fully get to your knots. First Mike used compression to loosen the muscles, then he used some elbow but he placed and massaged it precisely so it got to my knots. He has very strong fingers and thumb so he also did a lot of massaging using them which is a huge bonus because it is more like Tui Na which directly and deeply hit all the right places. The first time I was there her ATM machine wasn't working and she kept swiping and swiping and I told her if you keep doing that it's going to keel charging me. Finally her son calls me and I explain it to him and after a week of trying I finally get my refund. Second time I came here, again they can't understand what I'm asking them. I asked for Hot Stones , they use the stones and they're practically cold. So I saw sorry but these stones are not hot. And she's like ohhhh sorry no hot stone. And they take it away. And I'm like no no I'm saying the stones are not hot enough . And again nothing. The lady who gave me the massage was honestly whatever. One minute it was good then a few minutes just rubbing , no pressure to actually feel a massage. HERE IS THE KICKER. When I was checking out my totally was $30. And given the fact that not only did they not give me the massage I selected and the lady wasn't that great , I left a $5 tip and the lady at the counter got upset . She's like that's not enough. And I'm like excuse me ? She's like you need to give her more. And I'm like I'm giving $5. ($5 for $30 is 16.6%) she takes a $5 out of the drawer and slaps it on the counter and calls the lady who gave me a massage.
