I've been attending for 10 years, and one thing that has consistently stood out is the phenomenal leadership at this church. If you're looking to get connected, there are so many small groups to choose from, no matter what season of life you're in. I also appreciate the flexibility of having three different weekend service times, which has been especially helpful as a parent of two young children. Foothills truly invests in its kids and youth ministries, and as a mom, that means so much to me. I always feel confident that my children are being cared for by people who genuinely love and support them. Another thing I appreciate is how safe and welcoming the campus feels. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my family can attend and be part of a community where safety, integrity, and care for others are clearly a priority. Amazing people. It may be a big church but it's definitely family oriented. This is the church where I was saved. There's kids and middle schoolers nights on Fridays. High school nights on Thursdays. Young adults on Tuesday. There's also smaller homegroups based on age, with prayer and worship and short message to grow together through life. Small groups for high schoolers as well. A lot of opportunities to serve. There's women's activities and men's activities. A great community filled with love and prayer. I've been attending Foothills for about 5 years now with my husband of almost 40 years. Every weekend we look forward to solid Bible based preaching and the best worship I've ever experienced. It is also on YouTube if we can't make it in person. There are several Pastors and guest speakers to bring the Word, trained staff to lead in prayer and counseling, many classes available to deepen your understanding of God's Word, many activities to connect you a community of other like-minded believers. There are also home groups for smaller group fellowship and Bible study. I was especially impressed with the leadership during the Covid pandemic and the willingness to fight in a court of law for a preschool teacher who the state stripped of her teaching credentials for refusing to mask toddlers. We look forward to watching this case win before the Supreme Court. This church is family and youth oriented and finally, you can feel safe here knowing there is a security team. read more

I get to attend a memorial service as a family friend of Chucks Hicks, everything went really well, emotional, heart warming. Chucks was also a minister here for over 20 years and a lot of people here knew him, a great turnout and more of a celebration of his life instead of in memoriam. I noticed a few negative reviews on the page, and as a person of color I did not experience any such thing when I was here, just being surrounded by all friends and family. As a non Christian, I can't speak for everyone else, I know it might be opinionated, but as far as favoritism or discrimination I did not see it thru out 3 hours of service. No one asking me to join or gimmicks whatsoever. read more

I'd give less if possible. Was invited to a father son event here and the instant they gathered everyone into the main hall it was nothing but fear mongering and toxic masculinity coupled with repeat after me's etc etc. I was raised in a Christian home. My grandfather was a pastor. I've been to every type of Christian church including Methodist, southern baptist, catholic, evangelical and even LDS. One thing I never had a taste for was those who use religion as a means to spread their own hateful agenda. This is what God meant when he said "don't take my name in vain". He meant don't be hateful to each other then say it was my idea. Jesus said love thy neighbor not judge thy neighbor. This "church" openly promoted prejudice to children in front of their fathers and most lapped it up like little dogs feeling tough because they hit a sideways log with an axe 15 times while it rolled back and forth then claimed they were good at chopping wood. I had to debrief my son after this event. Fortunately he already knew it was off so I didn't have much to tell him that he didn't already know. A word of advice going forward, try not to open by insulting men who you think aren't manly. I have gay friends more masculine than 90% of those who attended this event. Heck I know women with more grit and you know what none of them do? None of them need to belittle people for looking different than them or liking different things. That was the weakest most insecure non "manly" pitch ever. Rhetoric and ideals like these are what push most non Christians away from the faith. Do better. read more

This is by far the best church in East County. Largely filled with people that are genuine faithful Christians with a real heart for people in their community. When I was in Jr high and didn't have a lot of clothes or food, wonderful people that volunteered at the teen centers run by this church fed and clothed me and many other children. As I've grown up, the people in this church have easily become family. I was sexually harnessed by a fellow student(with permission from his leader) at one of their camps, as far as I know no actions were taken against the students or staff involved. I was also verbally harassed and followed around by one of their bus ministry people when I was 18(for stepping outside so me and someone I ran into could chat about something) I told the closest person to me on staff about it and he tried to justify it... told me he would talk to the person but wouldn't tell anyone above him about it and urged me not to. read more

My son attends the preschool program I am forever grateful. There are so many ways and groups in order to get involved and there are constant programs reaching out to members and new attendees. The child's program exceeds all of my expectations. There are HUGE classrooms and a children's area in which all development is encouraged. There are places for climbing, using fine and gross motor skills and age appropriate challenges. There is a specified location for middle school and high school and those are great areas. There are several volunteers on the weekends and each are clear as to what needs to be done, filled out and how to check out your child at the end. The preschool program provides snacks for weekly preschool students and the parents just provide a lunch. There is nap time, crafts, weekly themes, various sensory tables and experienced teachers. The director constantly knows what is going on, what the teachers are teaching and ensure that each child's needs are met. The price is very reasonable. The pre-school aged kids have a summer program and the same applies. There are classes daily for 3-5 year olds. The director is a well experienced individual, Tiffany, who knows how to effectively run a child care community and engage everyone so they feel involved and stay involved. Payments are once a month summer/school year and it makes it entirely easier to remember vs having to pay every week especially with the reasonable rates. The walls are colorful, the bathrooms are constantly clean, the teachers are experienced, the arts and crafts are strongly encouraged and each child has a place for their belongings and their own cubby. There are several community child care centers which don't have this or say they do and don't. There are places for each child to have a sense of belonging. The bathrooms are not shared bathrooms like some facilities so this place encourages privacy and self respect with a teacher/parent close by should the child need help. There are two teachers per class and it is assured that each student and child gets effectively cared for. Everybody knows what is going on when, where and what is happening. There is effective communication in what the child needs to have and the daily schedules which are abided by. There are no TV's so the children are challenged in play, group activities, riding bikes, and individual activities with books, puzzles, or imagination. The volunteers on the weekends for services are just as informed and informing when parents have a question. Questions are answered promptly and nobody says "I don't know" they say let me find out for you, we are going to ask so and so. The safety of the child is significantly ensured by multiple adults in the room and a number assigned to the child and parent so if the child needs something during service the parent can see the number on the screen and quietly attend to the needs of the child. Playground release forms are required and each staff member is diligently effective in making sure you get this information as well as other various things that are happening. There are many groups during the week at various times for mothers, fathers, couples, college students and people of all ages. This church ensures that there are ways to stay informed and involved. This church has a large audience however with the constant support of groups, programs and the get involved card there are quickly ways to get to know people. You wont get "lost" in the crowd. The sermons are personable, the pastor includes personal experiences, encouragement and support to the audience. I started attending Foothills in 2001. The church has a primary focus of children and youth. This is an excellent church for young families who want to grow in their walk with God and community. Your kids are going to learn about Jesus, and they're going to have an absolutely great time! I have personally been involved in their youth venture program, and I have loved being a part of reaching out to the underserved in our community. Someone just posted a review that this was a racist church. Honestly, I could not believe what I was reading. Nothing could be further from the truth. This church loves people well, and everyone is welcome. If you are looking for a church in East County, I highly recommended Foothills Christian Church. If you are looking for a place where everyone is perfect, I recommend staying inside of your own home and locking the door. If you're looking for a place full of imperfect, broken people, who know that they are redeemed, and everyone is growing to be more like Jesus, you might enjoy this church. The worship times are energetic, creative, centered on the word of God and glorifying him, and passionate. The kids programs are excellent, my son and daughter come home every week talking about what they learned in their class (COVID has certainly changed a lot of in person dynamics). Even when we re-opened our doors after the pandemic, the church has taken every precaution. Seating people every other row, spacing out at least 6 feet, putting tape on the ground for distancing as we wait to be seated before service, taking temperatures at the door before entry, providing hand sanitizers at every entrance, requiring masks at entry; this church has done a great job, and cares deeply about the health of each person who attends both on a physical and spiritual level. read more

Though it is a large church they offer a lot of ways to get involved and get to know people in smaller group settings. FCC has its moments, some good stuff. They have GOOD things happening in their Healing Center--but 97% of those attending Never Go to Receive God's good in that room. "BIBLE worship" means that the proud local church-goers assume that Paul's opening 2 chapters matter more than obedience to the last 2 chapters. They are politically aware and active. The top leaders here are in the church business, NOT good samaritans, or loving their neighbor as they love themselves. Hearing seminary-Ace sermons did not transform my adult life HERE. FCC mega church crowds are the BEST Christians they can be...without the revival they half expect. read more
