Really enjoyable music and message. A welcoming environment no matter who you are or what stage of life you're in. Thought the pastor was funny, engaging, and well educated on the church and the Bible. He did a great job using real world situations in his sermon. My husband and I arrived right after the music started at the 12:00 service on Sunday and just a warning- they shut 90% of the lights off in the room while the worship team is singing and it is difficult to navigate so I would advise arriving and finding seating before the music starts. I also read on their website that their 2:00pm service every Sunday is in Spanish! read more

I normally attend services and do ministry at the Point Loma campus. My first time to this campus was last Friday for a comedy show. I have to say that I was very impressed with the layout of the church as well as the really comfortable seats! As you walk in, there's a small Rockpile Bookstore on the right hand side. If I am ever in the area on a Sunday, I definitely would love to attend service here because of the ample parking and great ambiance! read more

The new El Cajon Rock Church is awesome! Got a sneak peak with Pastor Ricky Page at the helm on Sunday, September 1st. It was right before the grand opennig taking place in mid- September. First off, plenty of parking now in East County although making my way through the area of car lots and large industrial parks where the new Rock is located was tricky. Thankfully, signs were put out directing people on just where to go. . El Cajon is the third branch of the Rock mega-church. The new worship center is a 22,100-square-foot space vacated by a Michael's Arts and Crafts and is located near Parkway Plaza. Pastor Miles McPherson told the Union/Tribune earlier this year that the El Cajon spot has "plenty of parking, room for up to 700 people in its main room and proximity to its large East County evangelical base." It makes sense to reach out to the east to add the next Rock Church. Pastor McPherson said the church has "always drawn the largest percentage of its worshipers from East County. Expanding to El Cajon will offer residents greater convenience and serve as an anchor for the church's philanthropic activities in the region." That being said, first off--I am very impressed. Large sanctuary with comfy seats. Great worship music with Pastor Ricky Page's lovely wife, Nova, featured. Now sometimes this wonderful warbler can .OVER SING but it was great and got the crowd going. Logistics of videos, sound systems and everything else went off without a hitch. Inside the lobby area, there are small open shops to buy books, gifts and Bibles. Also a snack area sold coffee, granola bars and fruit. Usual kindly and helpful volunteers who greeted and said good morning. My only complaint: 3 large pillars inside the sanctuary wrapped in black tape the can obscure your view of the stage. I just scooted a few seats over to see better. 5 YELP STARS for awesomeness out in El Cajon! Hopefully, the new East County Rock Church will blossom out in El Cajon and continue the good works of the original Rock Church. Welcome! read more

I attend East county and since the day it opened My teenaged daughter has been part of the youth and we are very involved in the church family. I have submitted volunteer forms and been through a background check but the minister Michael doesn't have anything for me to help with and he is very rude about us not helping. Which is really weird. Well tonight he came to me and told me to leave we are not welcome there on youth night. This is very disturbing My child is there and I want to be involved in her life. I lost my son three years ago and I am trying to spend as much time and be involved as much as possible. Not sure what to say. I have never been kicked out of church before. East county rock just feels like home. I moved here from Kansas a few years ago...a pastors kid from Kansas. Looking for a place to call home was a necessity. I love the people here. I love serving here and helping others. Being apart of this family is what makes us all better and draws us closer to God. Miles is fantastic but so are all the other pastors here. I'm blind and have health issues. I can't drive and it's impossible for me to go to church without a ride. I'm near Santee. I found this church online and I wanted to try it. They claim to accept anyone and all are welcome. I contacted them a few times, both by phone and email. They never answered my email or returned my calls. I explained my situation and asked for a ride, even offering to pay for gas. I'm forced to assume that in fact not all are welcome, in particular the blind or those who can't drive themselves. I can't therefore recommend this church. read more

Our family started attending this campus in 2013 and love it! We left for a bit to another campus, but missed EC so much, we returned. My son has been in the childcare there since he was 4 months old and has many friends. The volunteers in Rock Kids at this campus are amazing, full of love and caring. I have volunteered in several ministires here for prayer, mentorins, women's meeting leader and have a small group that meets twice a month. The community here is full of love and is a very humble group. The communication is excellent and the pastors all have a heart for God and people. Since the pre launch day, the building was packed. Every event is a success too - whether it is the Thanksgiving lunch for the community, prayer meeting or a women's potluck, you can see the smiles and joy on everyone's faces which says alot. From the moment, we park, even the parking staff are smiling. It is in my humble opinion, the best campus and the community. read more

Incredibly rude female security guard on a power trip... I brought my (tiny) dog to a private event held here (on request) - which had not been a problem at the group's previous venue. No posted info that this wasn't allowed, but this guard interrupted a conversation to throw me out, stood over me as I tried to say goodbye until I left...and followed us outside while we tried to finish the conversation. She actually suggested that I leave a small, popular-breed dog in my car - that's not safe considering the warm, sunny weather that day , and it's just asking to have him stolen! I won't leave him unsupervised in much better neighborhoods than this one. He wasn't barking, acting aggressively, or causing any kind of problem at all - he was sitting calmly in my lap with a bunch of people petting him. I have taken him to public places, events, and to work, with children, special-needs, & large groups, and never had a problem. I guess this guard just wanted to feel important, or didn't like the look of me. (Which would be ironic, since her super-heavy makeup looked far more hooker than professional...let alone church staffer.) I'm told there are other, much nicer guards, but I'll never find out. I won't be back for any reason - it's not a phenomenal venue, and as a church...if pettiness and self-importance are acceptable qualities in a staffer, that's not a church where I want any spiritual guidance. read more

I love pastor Miles and the Rock church. My husband and I have grown so much during the time we've been at the Rock (less than 2 years). I go to the sisters group for women in Thursdays while my daughter attends AWANA. She loves it and always leaves with a smile on her face. You can feel the holy spirit during worship. Love this church! It's a branch off of the point loma location. They have their own amazing worship band, and the campus pastor, Ricky Page, is awesome too. This church is much smaller then point loma so it offers a more intimate setting and you never have to deal with traffic in the parking lot! read more

Worship is awesome, the children ministry is awesome. People are friendly and so welcoming. Word is always on point. Tons of services to choose from. If you're a early riser come to the 8:00 am service. Then there's a 10:00,12:00,and 5:00pm. Tons of cool ministries to join as well. And there's always events and special guests. I love the Rock. I normally attend the Point Loma campus, but recently went to the East County campus for comedy night and a seminar through Rock Financial Life. I Love our pastor-Ricky Page he is so great at speaking when he gets a chance! He illustrates so well anyone can understand his point! I Love how I am greeted every time I go. I feel very accepted!! The child care area is always great my kids love it! The sign up is easy and the key card scanner is easy to use! Security is on point. I know my children are safe and I can enjoy the service! The kids workers are so nice and great at getting to any level of my kids needs if it's my baby, holding him playing with him feeding him his snacks they just love them... or with my toddler, he is very wild lots of energy they play songs and dance, he's always excited to go back every Sunday!! I see them with the older kids too doing puppet shows and skits some are super silly and everyone laughing and having a great time! All while learning about our Heavenly Father!! Great church I give 5 stars. Never feel judged. Definitely a come as you are type of church. I have been on a bumpy road with Christ since the age of 12. Literally since the day I was saved. But I guess that is part of being a Christian. I have love this church since the first time I ever came when it was at SDSU campus. I believe I even heard miles speak at Horizon in Claremont before The Rock. Pastor miles has a great way of making you feel welcomed and keeping a smile on your face but at the same time his sermon May convict you in a good. He breaks the Bible and the Word of God down in a way that all can understand. Let's be honest in the Bible can be very hard to understand at times but with Pastor miles humor and enthusiasm you are quickly drawn to listen and understand. I have been to both Point Loma and I currently attend East County. I recommend this church for anyone who can not make it to the Point Loma campus or if you are in the area this is a great church and you will not be disappointed. read more

After reading Melissa's review concerning Rock Church, I am really baffled on what she wrote. I been to the Rock Church and have had nothing but good experiences there. I met Mike, the individual that she was talking about and found him to be caring person. I have never seen Mike get rude with anyone nor throw them out of church that is not Mike's nature. Michael runs an excellent youth program for the church and the program continues to grow under his leadership and prayer. The Rock encourages parents to get involved and stay involved. They have just recently started a bible study class for parents who want to wait for their teenagers instead of driving home and then coming back in an hour and a half to pick them up. I think maybe Melisa needs to talk with Mike, because I feel there was a misunderstanding during their conversation. Mike would never kick anyone out of church. I know that for a fact. read more
